My grandfather, Mr. Kersting, was here for the last year of his life. I cannot begin to explain how amazing the staff is here. Carrie, Sharone, Yvette, Mario, Joe, and the 400 hall were his favorites. They took amazing care of him physically and emotionally. They listened to his stories, they laughed with him, they loved him, they held his hand when he needed, and most importantly they made sure he was comfortable and happy every step of the way! Thank you all so much for everything you did for my Poppy and the peace of mind you brought my family.

Do not let your loved ones be treated here. My mother was treated horribly. The staff hid her phone from her so she could not call her family. She was not bathed or given a change of clothes for 5 days. The facilty billed Medicare for PT and respiratory therapy that she never received.

My mother is in Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center. This is a great place, and we love it. This is skilled, rehab, transitional, and long-term (care). She's in skilled nursing, and it's been great. They've been really good to her. The place is very clean and very well kept. They're right on it. The staff is very friendly, wonderful, and very accommodating. The nurses and the staff have been here for a while, and they're wonderful. We have some traveling nurses, and I got to know a few of them. They're very understaffed at times, so there's a need for nursing and CNAs out here badly. The ones that are here work really hard and sometimes long hours. The food is amazing. Most of it's homecooked, and it's very good. We chose it because it was centrally located for my family. It was in a good area.

My brother is in the Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center long-term care wing. The overall experience is good. In the long-term wing, sometimes I don't like the smell when we go in there, but the rooms are nice and big. Overall, I think it's adequate. The staff is good, they're busy but when you call them, they respond right away. My brother is satisfied with the food there and says it's good. I like that it's a small place, it's not huge. The managerial staff seems to be very responsive.

I didn't like Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center. I didn't think the staff was friendly. They didn't answer their phones. They won't let you in. She was only there a short time because she was under quarantine. They won't let me move her. Overall, I just didn't really like the place. My wife forgot some clothes there or they forgot to put them with her when she transferred. So I called the case manager and I told them I was gonna be there to pick up her clothes in the morning between 9:00 and 10:00, and she told me she was gonna leave it up to the receptionist desk 'cause she didn't work on Saturdays. But she did leave them in her office, so I gotta go back because they didn't have a key to her office.

If you care for your loved ones, do not take them here. It is over run by inadequate, uneducated individuals. Every time I would call, I felt like I was speaking to a kindergartener. It seems to me that this place needs a lot of staff training in procedure and also hospitality. They did not provide me with adequate updates of my father's wellbeing and their lack of detail and professionalism is truly astounding. My father entered the facility to regain his strength after he had a fall and went into rhabdomyelsis, but also has had some mental confusion. Unbeknownst to me, they sent him via ambulance at midnight back to the hospital. Even though I am listed as his power of attorney, I was not the first contact. I was told that they attempted to call a Susan (who isr my mother his ex wife, who also by the way, never received such a call). It just amazes me that no one has returned my call nor have they told me about where his belongings are located. I was relieved to know he was back at the hospital with caring individuals who provide me with daily updates. When I went to pick up my father's belongings, I was looked at like I was speaking another language. One lady was so rude she didn't even take the time to look up at us from her paperwork. A gentleman in a wheelchair asked her where to get out, and she just ignored him. If that was my father, I would at least expect her to treat him with kindness. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

The nurses there were very caring to dad. The therapy department made him work hard, they tired him out and the nursing staff spoiled him. He walked out after breaking a hip with a walker and now lives in assisted living. The nurses were loving and spent time getting to know him as a person and not patient #101-2. Never having had experienced a nursing home/skilled therapy stay it was the people who worked there that made the experience pleasant. I saw the same nurse every day and knew the nurse who covered her days off. The aides and nurses were happy and smiled a lot. I got to know them by name and it made it seem like a family environment instead of a nursing home. I still visit from time to time just to take dad and update the nurses on how dad is doing. My dad was there on a skilled therapy visit and discharged after 19 days, they helped me find the right assisted living for him and made the transition smooth. If dad ever needs that kind of care again, we will go back to Canyon. I referred a church member who also had a good experience and decided to leave her loved one there in the nursing home hall. I think the people there care about the patients and put a lot of effort to treat them as individuals. The nurses there touched my heart and made a difference in that difficult time of my life. Even though there is no place like home they did make my dad feel like he was one of their family members. Highly recommend
