"My mother is in a skilled nursing facility, Santa Fe Care Center. My first experience was not that great, but she is in for a second time. My second experience is much better now. Things are better. The staff are overworked and understaffed, especially on weekends. My mother has difficulty with one staff member, but the other five or six have been very nice. There were some things that they overlooked in her first admittance. Right now, my mother is in quarantine in a solo room. She likes her room, but it's difficult. They provide everything from nursing to physical therapy to regular care. It has a strange entrance into the facility, but it's very close to the hospital, which is nice. It's accessible. I've seen my mother's food and it's not that great. They have bingo and arts and crafts, but my mother hasn't been able to participate in that, but then again, she's probably too weak to participate. Medicare is taking care of the cost for the first 20 days, after that, it's going to cost us $170 per day. It's a difficult place and it's a difficult type of business to be in as well. One good thing I like about this place is that they allow us to Facetime and they have the window visits."
