"We visited Rio Grande. I thought it was very nice. It was new and clean. The manager showed us around. He took time with us and explained things to us. He was not rushed, and I thought it was very nice. The rooms and apartments were clean. They looked like they were nicely laid out. They had a library, a social room, and a billiard room. They also had a bus that takes residents shopping and to doctor appointments. It looked really good. "

"It was great. They took very good care of my mother and were very personable and professional. Everything they did for her was appreciated, but she passed away. It was a retirement facility, but they have a wing for assisted living. The cleanliness was very good."

"We toured Albuquerque Meadows. We liked it very much, but it was under new management. It's very, very difficult to get into, so we didn't like that. It's a senior community for 55 and over, but it is individual living or individual homes. I only met one person at the office, and she was fine. She was very nice and informative, but really didn't do much to help us get our application through, and that was a problem. We really like the facilities. They have a pool. They have nursing services, plus they have things for people to do during the day. They have clubs and things like that, and I like that. However, they need to improve their application system. It was a great location, but we just didn't get in. It was right at the top of Albuquerque and close to Rio Rancho, which is where my husband works. It just didn't work out."

"The reason we went with Three Fountains Apartments for my mom was that it's economical and it's in a working-class neighborhood. It's close to a grocery store and a shopping complex is within walking distance. My mom doesn't drive anymore. There are three beautiful different-sized fountains in the courtyard. It's like this little veranda that you drive around when you first enter the property. It has activities as well as a library and a community area with an indoor pool, outdoor pool, and exercise room. My mom is in a one-bedroom apartment that had a kitchen. The kitchen is very important to her. Some of the other facilities that we went into did not have kitchen areas where she could do cooking herself. This is not one of those independent where there are meals prepared for you. It's an apartment, so she is more independent and it's close to where her husband was staying at. It's three miles away from the hospice so she could get to see her husband. It is a nice location with a lot of amenities that are affordable, and so that's why we picked it. When you fill out the application, the requirements they asked for are very instant stuff very specific. I don't know if they were being very specific for my mom or if it's very specific for everybody. That's the only part I'm not sure about that. The people in the front office were very nice. They were very gracious and nice every time we went in there. It's a 55-plus apartment. Each apartment has its own kitchen, and my mom will be fixing her own meals. The facilities are beautiful. There are four different receiving areas that are maintained beautifully. It's secured. At each entrance to each set of apartments, you've got to be buzzed in. You can't get in and out of the building if you don't have a key to access it. You have to have a code to get in there, so safety was a plus. The grounds are well kept. They have monthly activities that are on the calendar. They have certain Saturdays where they have socials. They have a gym, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, a billiards room, a library, and a socialization room. This was the most economical and most affordable."

"I'm at Overture Albuquerque 55+ Apartment Homes. It was newly built. It smelled better than the other places. They have activities all day for whoever wants to participate. They don't serve food, but it was the cleanest, best place that I could find. It's 55 plus and you can go to the pool at any point in time and enjoy yourself. They have water aerobics, mat aerobics, and chair aerobics. The staff is awesome. We have at least two members that are on the floor at all times and maintenance is awesome as well. I would recommend it to anyone that might be looking for a place. I have a one-bedroom. It's very comfortable and you're free to move around as much as you want. I did bring my own furniture. It's not fully furnished, but there's a balcony where I've been planting flowers and stuff. It's a very nice place. They want to help you as much as they can. For being 55 plus, they generally don't let children in until like 3 or something into the pool area. It's got a hot tub. Every day, something is going on. It's four stories. I'm on the first floor, so I'm right by all the elevators. I have to cook my own food, which is not a problem. They serve food on Thursdays. I pay a lot of money per month to live here, but you can go out, you play pool, you can do this, you can do that. I think the activities and everything make up for it."

"We liked The Montebello on Academy a lot. We thought it was just right for us. The apartments were a good size and our furniture would fit there. I think we'd be comfortable. The menu was excellent and the food was excellent. They offer exactly what I think is the right thing. They'll choose your diet in any way you need to and you get one major meal a day, either lunch or supper, and you always get breakfast. So, having meals twice a day would be perfect for us. Everything seemed to be in excellent condition. It was very clean. We liked how often they do exercise classes. We feel like that's very important to our health. We also have a small dog and we loved their approach to what you're allowed to do with your dog there. They have a nice dog yard. Nicer than any of the other places in town."

"I live in Overture Andalucia, and so far, it is so good. I have no complaints. It has exceeded my expectations. The size of my room is OK. The staff is very nice. They have a pool here and a lounge outside with a nice view, and I go there every day."

"I visited Camino Retirement Apartments. Everyone seemed to care, it was a good place for the price, and the one-bedroom room was still new. They had a bunch of activities lined up. "

"My wife is in Espanola House (Caregivers of Albuquerque Assisted Living Homes Espanola House). It has a small home atmosphere and a friendly open space. The facility is clean and the staff is excellent. We are very happy with her care and stay there. She has a one-bedroom unit with a shared bathroom. She is very satisfied with the food. Periodically, they have poeple come in to help with them and they have TV. "

"My mother has been here since July 2013. It's like living in a hotel-brand new, good food, lots of activities, transportation, helpful and nice staff. I can come and go at any time to visit her. I do think the assisted living costs are a little bit high, though. I would recommend Palmilla. My mother is has her own apt and is pretty happy there. "

"I am staying at Buena Vista here at Rio Rancho. It is a nice place and everyone here is nice. I get along with everyone here. They have activities. I pay my own utilities but I would prefer to go to a place that includes utilities. I am satisfied here, but I want to get out of Rio Rancho because I don't drive and transportation to coordinate. "

"We visited Brookdale Rio Rancho (formerly Emeritus at Sandia Springs). The facilities were fine, but they did not have a private room available at that time. It was a little large and would be overwhelming for my mother to not know where or who she because of her condition right now. It seemed nice otherwise. The rooms seemed very fine, clean, and spacious. We liked the fact that they had rails along the hallways. The people seemed to be informative. What stood out that day was they were having music for the people there and gathering the people around. "

"Everything in The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho is really nice. I think anyone would enjoyliving there. It's a really nice community, they have lots of amenities, and the rooms were really nice. We ate lunch there and the food was also really good. The guy that was showing us around was really nice. Among all the ones we've looked at, this place was the nicest."
