I lived at Paloma Landing Retirement Community. It's a beautiful place. They have three meals a day. They have a lot of activities for older people. There are three floor sections. I didn't like the third floor, but they wouldn't move me downstairs to the first floor. They said they never had any openings, but I know for a fact that they do have openings, so I got kind of upset and I left, but I regret it a lot. It's a very nice place. I really recommend it highly. It's independent living. You have to take care of yourself. If you need help, you can always bring the help that you need. You can hire nurses yourself if you want to. The food was great. There's no complaints about the food. They offer everything you can think of. They even have a bus to take you wherever you want to go. It's the best place there is in Albuquerque.

I toured Paloma Landing Gracious Retirement Living. The location was very good. It seemed that the staff that I met was always changing. The food was good. The dining hall was one big room with plenty of tables. It's restaurant style where you sit down, you order from a menu, and they bring it to you. It is an older place now but mostly kept up. The units were typical. The one-bedrooms were fairly comparable.

My brother is in Paloma Landing Retirement Community. If I could give the food a six, I would. We were comparing prices and this was a middle-range price, but the proximity to me was the closest. They furnished the room for him. They also had the best incentives with three months half price. Everybody had a promotion, but this was the best promotion. They had multiple options daily for all of the meals. They had healthy choices and vegan. The food was excellently prepared. The service was impeccable. You felt like you were on a cruise ship where they came with a cart and they were dressed like serving attire. It was very elegant and delicious food. They also have stuff out all day long. If you want a snack, there's a variety of fruit and pastries and coffees always there and things like that. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They got furniture moved from another room into his room within less than 24 hours of moving in. They clean the rooms. They do the laundry. They provide the sheets and towels, and they're quick to help you. They know people by name, and they chose a buddy for my brother for his first meal there, so he'd have somebody to sit with and talk to and show them around. Thinking about those things to make somebody feel comfortable is kind of a staff thing, that they're thinking about who's living there. They have a lot of activities available. They have a writing group. They were having a band come in and they were doing some Route 66 dishes. They have an arts and crafts room. They have bingo. They have a hair salon, a library, and a chapel. They have transportation to doctor's appointments and shopping. It's very clean. There are people there taking care of things as needed. When the weather gets nice, there's a nice little patio area to sit outside. The rooms have balconies where you can sit out with a chair and get some sun. The rooms are nice with a private bathroom and kitchenette. The dining area is very elegant. For what we're getting there with having the rooms cleaned, having the sheets and towels, having that laundry done every week, all of that stuff, I think the value for what he has and the quality of the meals is very good. Everybody is friendly and helpful.

My friends are staying at Paloma Landing Retirement Community. The apartments had pretty much the same layout. The size of the balcony is about the same and quite large. I ate there, and the food was very good. The staff showed me two available one-bedroom apartments. The rates are about the same. The included perks are probably better than the other facilities. All in all, it would be perfectly satisfactory. This coming year, they are offering a 50% discount, so it's a very good value.

This location is so great! My Monther-in-law has lived here for 7 years and at 92 still plays bridge with friends 3 days a week. She enjoys the meal and company of friends every day.

Paloma Landing was the perfect find for my mom as a senior residence. Her apartment floorplan is spacious and the facilities are well-maintained, bright and sunny, and easy to access. The services are all-encompassing and mom will tell you that the food is some of the best she has had anywhere, especially the homemade soups prepared by the chefs. The residents here are a diverse group of individuals with fascinating life experiences that help fill her days with engagement and community. Best of all are the community managers, Joe and Bruna, who genuinely care about each individual resident as though they are part of their own family. From running activities to managing staff to taking time to know each resident by name and how they take their coffee, their dedication to making a difference others’ lives is evident in everything they do. Looking for a terrific facility in a location with perfect weather and the best service around? Paloma Landing is the answer to your search!

I toured Paloma Landing Gracious Retirement Living, and it was very nice, but I wasn't that impressed with it. Of course, they provided three meals a day, but I was not that impressed. I wanted to have a refrigerator and a stove so that I could cook occasionally if I decided to. They said that I could get a small refrigerator, but I wanted to have a regular kitchenette-type thing, so I did not apply to live there. The apartments were very, very nice, very clean, and well taken care of, but because they don't have any kitchenettes, I decided not to stay there. The staff were very, very gracious, welcoming, and caring. They have a gym, they have a very nice dining room and there is a patio where you could sit and enjoy the weather or read or whatever. They have a beauty salon, too.

Paloma Landing Retirement Community was very nice. The girl that helped us, Sarah, was very friendly and very thorough. It was clean and the people were friendly. The units that they had were clean and very nice looking, and the staff said that they had been remodeled. The dining room was very nice and clean. The only drawback was that the room doesn't have a full kitchen. It has a sink, cabinets, and a microwave. They have a community laundry room. Everything's included, including the three meals a day. I think the only thing you pay for is your telephone.

My mother lived in Paloma Landing Retirement Community, and it's a great facility. The staff was very good and very professional. The food was good, the chef was excellent, the room was up to date, everything worked, and they had balconies in most apartments. It was very clean, very modern, and it was a beautiful building.

My father-in-law lived here briefly, 3-4 months. It didn’t work out, because we underestimated his dementia and he was unable to function in an independent living situation, even with extra caregiver support. Residents are expected to manage their own schedules, and appear for mealtimes and activities. There are a nice variety of outings and activities and my father-in-law enjoyed the food. The managers were so helpful and caring, and tried hard to make it work for my father-in-law. I would recommend this without reservations to anyone whose abilities match the requirements of independent living.

My mother-in-law has been in Paloma Landing for two to three years. It is a very nice facility. She has been very happy and comfortable there. Her room is rather small. It is sufficient and big enough for her, but if I was her age, I would want more space. You can pay more for a two-bedroom, and some of them are bigger. They do bingo, movie nights, and have transportation within a 10-mile radius. They all have dinner at the same time. It is in a good location. I think the people that work there treat their residents very respectfully and are very attentive.

Paloma Landing Retirement Community was an independent living place with no assisted living. It provided meals, housekeeping, and laundry. Our apartment was very nice and spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. We did not care for the meal service because it was not restaurant-style. Breakfast was at 8:00, lunch at 12:30, dinner at 5:30, and that was it. It was not convenient at all. The place was quite nice with beautiful apartments and a beautiful building in a nice location. It was well maintained but not suitable for our needs.

We were on the waiting list at Paloma Landing for my mother. We really like this community. It was very nice. It would have been my choice except that they didn't have assisted living. They did have nurse on staff that could come in and do basic stuff. The facility was beautiful. It was the best of everything -- e.g., the best food, beautiful art work, and beautiful colors. It was just a beautiful place. They had friendly staff. Everything was well done. Paloma Landing was what we were looking for until we figured my mother wouldn't be able to stay there.

I was able to visit Paloma Landing, and it was absolutely beautiful. I like that it is also conveniently located. Their activities are very appropriate and seems like they have a lot of options. I was very pleased with the cleanliness. The staff was very knowledgeable and very helpful. They even suggested to me that I might qualify for military assistance.

As an independent private caregiver, I had the honor of caring for several clients who resided at Paloma Landing. True the staff has changed hands, but no manager will be able to please EVERYONE, all the time. As far as the food goes, most folks living ther eat small portions of food anyway and fresh fruit and baked goodies usually are in the dining room up for grabs. The facility is immaculate and you could eat off the floors. The thing folks must remember is that this facility is for INDEPENDENT seniors. When health or mental situations arise, families MUST take the initiative to get some private help for their family member and not expect the facility or management to be that caregiver. Overall an excellent place for your independent loved one.

We liked the Paloma Landing, and it was near our neighborhood. When you walked in, it was like you were walking on a cruise ship. It was beautiful and brand new. It was definitely a high end facility. The main lobby where the dining room was, is huge. The second floor had a balcony on the corner of one side. When you walked down the hall, it was open, and you could look over the dining hall and the people. The staff was excellent, and it had transportation. I loved it.

I was at Paloma Landing for eight months. It was very nice, but they keep changing managers. I left because the manager was being so mean to the elderly and I'm one of the youngest people there, so it upset me. We first had temporary staff, Karen and David, and they were fantastic. They just went and cleaned up the place when it was all a mess. From what I heard though, they let them go. They also had a really good activity director, David, and he was excellent. With David, they had a lot of activities. However, they also fired him. Everyone was very sad then. Now they actually got someone from another facility, she's nice, but she's not David. With regards to accommodation, that was all really nice, but to be stressed out, it's better for me to be in an apartment where I'm not stressed. They also served very small portions of food and they wouldn't give you seconds. I had a lot of trouble there because I was allergic to tomatoes and they didn't have a lot of choices. They were not giving you a lot. What I want for them to improve on is to have very caring and compassionate managers. The facility was beautiful. It felt like a hotel. If they would get the right managers in there and maybe a little more food, then it would be okay.

I have been at Paloma Landing for a visit and the facility is very well groomed. It’s very elegant and the environment is very pleasant. They have three kinds of room; a studio, one bedroom, and a two bedroom. They have large rooms. People can get around if they have a little wheelchair. The layout is very organized. The staff are absolutely wonderful. They were able to invite me to eat there and the food is really nice. It's just that during my three-time visit I found out that they changed three mangers and that alarms me because some of the manager are pleasant, but some of them are still new and they don’t have a whole background about my finances or the facility in general.

My mom has been living in Paloma Landing for two years. It was cheaper and she's independent enough to handle it. The beauty of it is it's not huge, it's probably 150 people and it's easy to get around. They cleaned the rooms weekly and changed the sheets and towels. The place is secure; it's locked at night at 8:00. They allow small pets. They could improve on the meals though, as they'll serve big carrots sticks so they need to be more aware of the clientele that they have and the ability to be able to eat certain foods.
