"Sunrise Creek had nice duplex-type apartments. I especially liked that it had central heating and the amenities that we needed. Although a major drawback was the one-car garage, because we had two cars. The staff were very cordial and even offered us lunch. But my wife and I were still not ready to give up our old place. "

"Spring Creek Chalet is an outstanding senior care facility in Montrose. My mother, father, and father-in-law have all been residents at Spring Creek, and I have researched all other senior living facilities in this area. No other facility combines all the absolute necessities for senior living like Spring Creek Chalet. The apartments are large and comfortable; housekeeping services are available weekly; personal laundry and basic laundry are available weekly; the menu choices and the food (plus 24-hr.snacks) are outstanding; health care needs and emergency pull cords are provided; and most importantly, a loving, friendly home-like atmosphere exists in Spring Creek Chalet. One true measure of an outstanding senior living facility is the consistency and retention of staff members. Many of the same staff members have been with the Chalet for the last ten years (based on my personal experience). Safety, security, friendliness, fun activities, and respect are all qualities of living when a person becomes a resident at Spring Creek Chalet. The gardens, the fishing pond, the walking paths are additional attractions at the Chalet. I would highly recommend this facility for any senior who wants to continue living in a "home-like" facility. "

"Well first off, the reason we felt the need to move my grandmother to such a facility is that she was living by herself for a long time. As a 94 year old quickly losing eyesight and mobility this does not work well at all.The facility fits the needs of wanting to still be independent, which was the main hold on her not wanting to leave the house of 50+ years. There is separate housing at Crossroads, is I suppose you would call it, that has furniture and some semblance of a home still (basically the size of small apartment for one). In addition to the residence there is the main area where they are more than encouraged, forced basically, to meet up at. Meals are there, activities and of course other people her age that she can relate with instead of being completely alone. The assistance provide is quite comprehensive. Before she had moved to the facility she needed to have professional care, I believe it was called Helping Hands, come in every morning and afternoon to help her out of bed, get cleaned, eat, etc. Now at the current facility there is some schedule of all that for one of them to come in and help in the morning then take her over to the main area and back.Also the whole facility is extremely close to a Hospital so any type of serious issues can be taken care of quite swiftly thanks to in house staff and a trip to the Hospital if need be.Negatives, I suppose one of the major drawbacks of this type of facility is the distance of housing to the group area. She is unable to make the journey her self so without assistance, which at times she is quite reluctant to ask for, she will stay alone in her housing area. It is one of the trade-offs of wanting independence but still there should be a better way to go about it I would think. The activities are also pretty limited for them. Yes there is some exercising and people to talk to but I would think there could be more effort put into keeping their minds busy. The town of Delta does not have much for them to travel to do, so I was expecting more in the way of constant/different games going on. Or I may have just visited at wrong times.From the few times I was there visiting and previously checking it out those working there were professional and courteous. The outside area looked very nice and maintained. I don't know what else to say, hope this helps. "
