"Brookdale Sunrise Creek is an awesome place. It is very friendly, very warm, and very welcoming. They have great staff and great activities. The other thing I love about this place is that you can make all of those transitions right there as needed. It is a beautiful place. They also have ongoing activities from going out and about to doing card games and puzzles. They have samples of the meals out there for you to see exactly what they're going to be eating. The reason why I did not go there with my father is that it is large, which can be very overwhelming for some people. There are many residents, and the place is big."

"We chose Homestead at Montrose for my mother because my daughter actually works there. She works for Volunteer of America. Homestead is a good and clean place. In terms of care they offer, it's all in one but my mother is in their assisted living facility because her eyesight is severely impaired. Her room there is pretty new. They even put new carpeting for her. She has a living room, a bedroom and a kitchen, but there's no stove in the kitchen, which I think is typical. Her room is very comfortable. The HVAC works good and all that. The staff seems to be very professional and caring. So far, the experience has been good. For activities, everyday they have something going on for the people. They have like bingo, games, etc. They have volunteer musicians and singers that would come in. So their activities are pretty good. I notice that my mother has a pretty active social life there even though her vision is severely impaired, so that's good. The food is not too good. We told them about that, but so far there hasn't been any notable improvement. "

"My father-in-law is now at Heidi's Chateau for two weeks. It is smaller than the other ones we looked at. It's homey and the staff genuinely care about the residents. We talked to residents while we visited, and I always asked them if they liked living there, and not one person said anything negative. They like the food, and they like the caregivers. It just felt right for my father-in-law. For activities, they have a little setup, they have bingo, and they have exercise classes. My father-in-law took one class the other day. Mostly, he goes down to the dining room and to the community living room where the TV is, and just hangs out with people. The social atmosphere is really good for him. I haven't tried the food myself, but I've been there when he's eating, and it looks good. The food is more than adequate and appears to taste good. They also do my father-in-law's medicine for him. Then hospice comes in and does his showers, and a hospice nurse that comes in once a week to see him. It's an older facility and it's a little bit shabby, but my father-in-law doesn't see any of that; all he sees is the people that care about him. "

"I toured the assisted living community of Crossroads at Delta for my father-in-law. It was very clean, and the staff was very friendly. The layout's great, and there's lots of room. They do a lot of things and keep the residents entertained to keep their minds active. They even take weekly trips. The rooms are really nice, too, and you can have a pet with you. I didn't really find anything wrong with it. It was just really nice, and the staff members were very personable."
