Assisted Living Communities in Bedford, NH

"The Courville at Nashua-Aynsley seemed more like a home for mom. It is a small community and everyone is generally kind and considerate. It fits her needs and what she wants. She wanted a little mini kitchenette almost like an apartment versus a regular room. They had plenty of activities going on and everyone seemed to be engaged in the activities, if they wanted to. The menu and everything for the food seemed excellent too. One day they were making centerpieces for the dining room tables with fresh cut flowers. They have a social hour every day at 4 p.m. for the residents to go down right before dinner. So, those are the two things that were nice about it. They also have a doctor who visits every single week and makes his rounds there."

"The Giving Tree Senior Living is an amazing place. My grandpa moved there in October 2024, and it has been a wonderful experience for him and our family. From day one, everyone who works there has been friendly, supportive, and helpful. My grandpa absolutely loves his apartment. It’s spacious enough to give him his independence while still being a part of a community. He raves about the food— says the portions are generous and there is great variety to choose from. He’s always talking about how friendly and accommodating the staff is, which has made a huge difference in his experience. He enjoys spending time in the Pub, where he can play pool and socialize with friends. The community also has a movie room and an area for games. A nice touch is the piano in the lobby, for residents to play. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed. The activities offered at The Giving Tree are fantastic, and they post the daily events in the elevator, so everyone knows what’s happening. The staff is amazing, and my grandpa has no complaints—he’s very happy there. If you’re looking for a place that truly cares for its residents and offers a wonderful community, The Giving Tree is the place. We couldn’t be more grateful for everything they do."

"I have chosen here for respite care for mom. It's not a permanent move-in; she will be there for thirty days. It's a nice, small community, and it's a very clean building. I found that the people who work there are very easy to work with and accommodating. It was a very pleasant place. It's a nice-sized room, and it's certainly not small. It's nice, and it came with the furnishings that were needed: a bed, a chair, and a dresser. The only thing I would find fault with -- and it's not their fault -- is the way the building is arranged. The rooms don't have a private bathroom, but there are certainly many bathrooms available. In the summer, they have outside activities. They also do some bus trips. It seemed like a good level of activities for the type of people they were dealing with. I saw a couple of community rooms. I did not see anything that has to do with exercise, like a pool or anything. This is totally memory care, so I don't believe they had that, but they certainly had several gathering places. They had many books available, almost like a library. They had TVs and movies. They definitely had activities. There's a code that is published at the door. You have to push the code to get in and out, so it's not a locked facility, but if you do not push the code, an alarm goes off, so they are alerted if someone just tries to go out. It's a very pleasant place and in thirty years, I wouldn't mind being there myself."

"My husband is at The Pines of Newmarket. He tried to escape the first day, but the whole team is wonderful there, and they are taking exceptional care of him. He's eating and doing much better. They keep a close eye on him. The nurse who takes care of him first thing in the morning to help him get dressed has requested that, as long as he's there, she would like to be able to take care of him every day that she is working. They have been so helpful, and they understand that he has his issues. I call him every three days and talk with the nurses. When I tell them things like when he bangs his arm, they have to do Steri-Strips. They put the Steri-Strips on and a Band-Aid. I said, you need to put more of a bandage on there because he'll be picking at it, and they agreed, and the nurse, Bruce, said he would take care of it immediately. They all love him there, so they're very happy to take care of him because he's easygoing. He'll be at The Pines until I can come and get him and bring him back home. It's spotless. It's the neatest, cleanest place, and my brother went to see him the other day, and he could not get over how comfortable, homey, and clean it was. I'm a clean nut anyway, and I have been in a lot of other places, including hospitals that aren't even that clean. They have a good staff, and their food is all cooked right there. If they don't have something that somebody wants or craves, they'll get it for them. They post the menu on the wall every single day for a week at a time, so that the visitors have an opportunity to know what their loved one is eating, and you, as a visitor, are welcome to be there and have their meal with them at no cost. They do chair yoga, and they have get-togethers, and they take bus rides and things like that to different locations. His memory is so limited. I don't know exactly how much they've done with him other than make sure he's getting walking in and around the building, because it's fairly well laid out. For the cost, I would give it a five because of the atmosphere, the seating area, everything. I just can't get over the cleanliness because my mother was in another facility, and I did more cleaning in her room than the cleaners did. Even though I'm bringing him back home, if the issues arose again that I had to find a place for him, I would certainly consider them first."

"My sister is at Ridgewood Center because she has cognitive problems and early Alzheimer's. But I really wanted to move her down to Florida. Ridgewood was the nursing home that my sister had worked in at one time. Everybody is very nice. I think it's a good place. It's clean and the staff seems very attentive to the people. They try to keep them busy with different activities. The room is fine, but they have to go to a separate room for the showers. My sister is not crazy about the food and she complains about it a lot. "

"My mother will be moving into The Courville at Bedford - Carlyle. What I like about it is it's small, so I feel that there will be more personalized care. The staff was very upbeat, very positive, and very nice. They seemed to care about their residents. They gave my mom some food to take home with her, and I ate the cookies. The cookies were good. It seemed very updated and very clean. The residents all seemed to be very happy. It seemed welcoming. The dining area was set up similar to a restaurant. I toured some facilities that it was more like a cafeteria with big tables. This place had little tables with four people sitting, so it seemed more pleasant."

"Visited this facility and thought it was a wonderful place if you are unable to get around easily. The staff is helpful with their residents. The facility is clean, and in a well kept older building. Most residents are not able to get out, and or able to walk very far independently, so it's a perfect place for someone that is not very active. Nice place overall :) "

"Courville provided a very pleasant experience for my Mother in Law who was staying there and they went well beyond expectations to accommodate the family visiting. For her Birthday, they set us up with a private lounge room and we had 20+ guests. I never saw anything that was unsanitary. They have some TV's in nice rooms for their residents. My only complaint was that at times they were short staffed, which caused a long wait for assistance. Not very good when someone needed assistance to the restroom. "

"We moved Mom into Villa Crest assisted living. She's been there for a few weeks now, and she's comfortable and happy. It has been absolutely wonderful. I can't say enough about it. The staff has been amazing. Everyone is so friendly. It was very organized and clean. It's just a happy community. She has a studio and it is adorable. It has a nice little kitchen area if she chose to use it. It's very pleasant. I'm very happy. They come and they invite her daily to activities, and yesterday she did cornhole. She didn't even know what it was, and I thought that was pretty impressive. She's done some bingo. She's trying different things, which just really warms my heart. She's a pretty picky eater, and she's been eating much better than she was at home. She hasn't complained at all. She eats whatever they give them, she says, except for fish. They seem to have quite a variety of activities, some are consistent, like they consistently have bingo. They have religious kinds of activities she could choose to go to if she wanted to. So far it seems to be very appealing. No one wants to pay thousands of dollars, but for what she's getting and the peace of mind, the facility and the food, I would say it's reasonable. I'm very, very happy."

"My mom was a resident at Rose Haven for a number of years, up until her passing. They were so good to her here, especially the administrator, Cindy. Rooms are small, but that is common for assisted living homes. This facility does accept Medicaid. The meals and activities were great. I highly recommend Rose Haven for your loved one. "

"My mother is at The Villager Retirement Home. It is a 16-bed private residential, but it has gone beyond our expectations. My mother absolutely loves it. The price is right too. Everything has exceeded our expectations. The facility is a really old Victorian home. They have a big wrap-around porch. There are 16 residents, and their porch has 16 white rocking chairs that, to me, it tells a lot right there. They have activities three times a day that they are expected to attend to. When you go over there, all the residents are out and about. It is a wonderful place, and my mother loves it. "

"We visited All American Assisted Living at Londonderry. My friend liked it very much. She wanted to stay there. The place looked like it was brand new. My friend got to visit with some of the residents there. They showed her the room that was scheduled to be hers. It's a two-room suite with a shared common area. When we were visiting, there was entertainment there. She liked everything about the place and that it was close to where I'm living so I could get up there. The staff was very professional. I was impressed with the place. The facility was bright, airy, and cheery. The people seemed friendly. The residents all seemed to be doing well."

"Beaver Lake Lodge Assisted Living is a hidden gem. The facility is immaculate but what stands out the most is the caring staff. They provide meals, administer prescribed medications and offer activities for the residents to participate in. Several times a year there are family activities. We are blessed to have found a good match for our loved one."

"Rose meadow isn't the normal assisted living facility. It's located on an old renovated farm. The old farm house was converted to aid the handicapped and they did a very nice job. This particular facility is dedicated to people who have had traumatic brain injuries and s set up for rehabilitation. The nicest thing about the facilities is that it's a house and each patient has their own bedroom, with a communal living room, kitchen and all kinds of space outdoors. I think it helps greatly that they aren't in a hospital setting even though they are equip ed for any emergency and the staff doctors are on hand for regular checkups and meetings on the patients progress.The facility cares for only 11 patients at a time and I believe the staff numbered between 20-25. The staff seemed very caring and friendly and the entire facility was very clean and well kept.Aside from the regular rehabilitation and special equipment and whirlpool baths for the patients they also seemed to have a pretty extensive recreational activities from inside games and activities to outside activities on the large grounds.Obviously having someone you care about in any facility is never a great experience but when you know they are well taken care of in a very comfortable home like setting like Rose Meadow then it makes it all a little more bearable. "
