My sister-in-law was a resident of Pearl Care Home Llc. It's very, very clean. It's very well kept. It always looked very nice. What I disliked about it is that there were a few caregivers there who weren't very compassionate. When we went to pick her up, the one thing that really upset me was that we were taking her to get a haircut. And when I took her to the bathroom, she had no underwear on. She just had her outside pants on. They gave us a really hard time when she was discharged, and I don't know why. I mean, I really can't say -- it was really one particular person because I said to her, "We're going to go now. Do you want to say goodbye to my sister-in-law?" She said, "No, I'm busy." That didn't fit too well with me after a year of being there. It wasn't what I needed. I thought it was what my sister-in-law needed; some closure there. So, a little bit more compassion would be what I would want. The owner, Roy, was very helpful. The head nurse or head lead caregiver was very helpful. It was just that a couple of the others were standoffish, and after a year of her being there, I thought it would be a little bit more of a kind discharge to my sister-in-law. There was a lot of change in caregivers, too. There were two that were pretty stationary every time we went, but then we'd go back, and there'd be a different one there or a new male caregiver. I observed her lunch a couple of times. They were kind because she doesn't have any teeth. So, her diet is very limited as far as what she can eat and chew. I think the food was good. She didn't necessarily like it, but she ate well. She didn't lose any weight, and she ate what was given to her. She was there at Christmas time. It was decorated to a tee. It's always been very clean. The table was always washed. You didn't see leftovers from lunch on the table. The furniture was very nice, and the room was very ample.

My mother has been in Alebris for three weeks now. It’s a wonderful place. It’s clean, and they’re very professional and meticulous. Their level of care is off the charts. I assume the food is pretty good because my mother does not complain. There’s 3:1 ratio of residents to caregiver. She shares a room with another resident. It’s a two-bedroom with a closet. She has her own private dresser. She shares the closet with the roommate but it’s very structured. It’s very nice.
