"I liked everything about The Lumiere of Chesterfield. They had a private chef who worked with the people who lived there to get on the menu what they preferred to eat according to their diet. A lot of these people are diabetics and when they go to another facility, they don't care what they eat, they just put garbage on the menu. This private chef makes a world of difference. They have high ceilings and big, spacious rooms. It's much more spacious than a lot of the facilities I've seen. It makes it feel much more luxurious and much more like home."

"If I could give the staff a 10 I would! They are compassionate, friendly and and even fun! With any care facility you are going to have concerns or issues with particular care, personality conflicts, or maybe just alot of questions. I know we did. This was my mother and I only wanted the very best for her. When I had these concerns the supervising staff was very attentive to fix the problem no matter how big or small. It warms my heart to go there and see her caregivers hugging,calling her sweet nicknames, and joking with her. I know we made the right decision. She has plenty of activities to keep her busy and she is very happy at Sunrise of Des Peres."

"My father stayed a few weeks on the acute rehab side and then moved over to the skilled nursing care side for a few more weeks till he got strong enough to come home. First of all, the place is beautiful- both the rooms and overall facility. It is kept very nice and has a cheery atmosphere. It even has its own bakery that is open daily to get a sweet treat. The staff is attentive and patient and hard working on behalf of their patients. They responded to my calls and treated my father with extra special care. We were extremely nervous about having my father in a nursing home...and we got so LUCKY when we found Brooking Park. It was more like a home which was a grateful surprise! I/we highly recommend this facility!"

"My mom moved to Avalon Memory Care St. Louis. They are wonderful. They have done everything we've asked them to do. The price is a little high, but overall for what you're getting, they take very much pride in what they do. They attend to the seniors, they toilet them every two hours. They have activities for them. They take care of them. They shower them twice a week. They have great meals, and it's a beautiful place. Overall, it's just a very comfortable, warm environment, and loving family-type setting. There's not one person in our family that visited there that didn't like it and didn't think it was just a very comfortable place to live. The staff is all very kind and generous, and they text us with pictures of my mom eating dinner, calling us, or anything, and they're very attentive. They also communicate with us almost daily. The facility is beautiful, but there's very little parking. The rooms are very roomy. They have a beautiful walk-in shower, a separate vanity, a big closet, and a TV screen that's mounted on the wall. I wasn't able to try their food, but it smelled good when I was there. They have them all in a communal area while watching TV. They do have a craft table that some of them can go to, work crafts and put things together. They also play bingo. The value was about the same price we were paying for full skilled nursing, but it seems like they're doing a lot more for her than even the full skilled nursing staff was doing."

"My wife doesn't see very well and The Mary Culver Home is designed only for visually impaired women, and they've been in business for 150 years, so I like it. It's a small home. It only got 27 private rooms, so she gets a lot of one-on-one attention and they're very good. They are very attentive towards her and I would highly recommend anybody if their spouse is visually impaired, because that's the one requirement to get in. I like the fact that the patient to staff ratio was like 7 to 1 and the food's good. My wife seems to enjoy the food and they do activities with them all the time. So, they try to get them involved in various activities and I'm pleased. The rooms are small, but they're all private, and they have a private bathroom in them. It's plenty and big enough to get around. I think the home was built in 1966, I believe, so it is an older home, but it's well-maintained. They have a dining area and they kind of wait on them like it's a restaurant. They'll come up there and take their order, and whatever they want, they'll cook it for them. They have exercise classes. They do tours of different countries and stuff like that. They listen to those kinds of tapes and then discuss them. The other day when I was there, they were doing Martin Luther King's history and life. So, they do something like that all the time for them."

"Everything at The Boulevard of St Peters was very well done. It was relatively new. It's just been there for a year. So, everything was nice. We had already put a deposit there for Mom, but we didn't get to use it. The lady was very professional."

"In the last 12 months Town & Country Senior Living, has had: 2 Executive Directors, 4 Director of Wellness, High turnover of staff, Unable to get direct email for staff (had to go through main line), Poor communication between residents, staff, family and in house doctor, less than a year it has changed ownership again."

"The Rockwood is set up very nicely for independent living. There are exercise facilities, a laundry room, a sitting room, and a dining room. Most of the time, the lunch is available if you want it, but since it's an independent facility, most of the tenants eat out. The facility serves breakfast, lunch, and brunch on Sundays just in case you come back from church and want to eat. It's a really nice setting even though it's by an old railroad track. The Rockwood is an old, country-style living community, and it's quite quaint. The building has elevators, and all of the rooms are excellently done with wood trim. They have a cart inside if you need assistance getting around. The building has been updated. The people there are very kind, nice, and understanding. The rooms have nice views and outside patios. There are about three entrances, and the residents have their own parking lot. Residents can do gardening. The staff actually takes care of the patios, but if they like, the tenants can do it as well. It is a very nice setting, and it's a very nice area. "

"My mother lived in Brookdale Creve Coeur. We moved her because of the cost. With the money she has, we couldn't sustain at Brookdale for $11,000 a month. It just wasn't gonna work, but I'd give them a five on everything. There were no weaknesses in anything. It was just perfect."

"I toured Harvester Residential Care. I appreciated the warm welcome that I received. Everyone that I spoke with was very kind, friendly, and helpful. They answered my questions. I was glad to be able to see the assisted living center, as well as the group housing options. My questions were answered, and I received literature and a card to take home if we wanted additional information or assistance. The menu was posted. It was very helpful, also. They have outdoor spaces near the driveway, near the front entrance. I saw comfortable chairs, and the grounds were very well-maintained."

"I toured Sunrise of Webster Groves. It seemed like a very nice community. It was a very nice building. Everyone was very personal and likable. It might be something we would look at in the future, but I think we're pretty comfortable where we're at for the moment. The staff member who gave the tour was great. They said I could try their food, but I did not. They also had porches if they needed some kind of outdoor space."

"I toured Autumn View Gardens - St. Louis. The tour was very good. All of the staff was excellent. The accommodations were very good. The price was good. It's a studio. It had a little mini kitchen and a bathroom, and I was impressed that the majority of them had an outside balcony. It was enclosed where they could sit out, so we were very impressed. They showed us the cafeteria area. They were there, and they'd been doing laundry, so we saw the process of putting your basket out and getting your basket back in with your clothes. They had a whole list of activities, which we were thrilled with, because, right now, my mom is sedentary. So, they had this big list of activities and everything that they offered. They had a calendar posted throughout the hallways. They had an exercise room, a courtyard, and a big space for families to gather if they wanted to come. They had a big seating area with couches and stuff for the family."

"My mother will do respite care here for the fourth time. I pretty much liked everything about it. The atmosphere as soon as I walked in the door, I just knew it felt homey. I liked the activities that they did and the interaction. She went on the tour with me and they made her feel welcome. I fell in love with the staff. While I was touring, she sat with some of the other residents and she was comfortable there. She ate all her food there. The place was very clean and it smelled clean. It was just like walking in The Hilton."
