Hampton Manor of Shelby is excellent. We find the staff extremely helpful and friendly, and my mother-in-law is very happy there. They have a main dining room, rooms to the left and the right, an activity room in the back, and individual apartments. The food is good and she enjoys it. The facility is very clean. Although the activities were limited because they were in lockdown, they just had bingo yesterday, and they also celebrated Cinco de Mayo with a piƱata.

Hampton is a beautiful facility with caring staff who go way above and beyond the call of duty. Small community all on one floor. The residents and administration are really accessible and get to know the family. I can call the administrator 24/7 with concerns and he is always responsive and professional. They have different sizes of rooms from one person to two bedroom. Memory care will be available as mom progresses in need. One of the best things is the price is all inclusive. Same amount every month, and they are the best price I could find in Macomb County. The Chefs are good and even prepare meals if our family has a party. The dining room looks like a restaurant. The Activity Director has worked very hard through Covid-19 to keep us all connected using zoom and window visits. Mom loves it here.

My mom moved into Hampton Manor of Shelby. It's good, but since it's so new, they're not really staffed very well. They have a lot of caregivers, but they don't have a lot of skilled people to do their meds, which is a little concerning to me. I also wasn't really impressed with their food selection; their menu had just one thing on it. They basically do a bigger meal at lunch and a smaller meal at dinner. Their alternative menu has a couple things like sandwiches and leftovers, which I didn't know they were even allowed to serve. They should improve their food a little bit and having a little bit more of the correct type of skilled nursing they need for the people that are there. The place itself wasn't bad. It was nice, well kept up, and clean. They have some activities and they seem to respond fairly quickly to the concerns of the patients.
