The staff here is very competent, loving and caring. I would highly recommend them. I thoroughly researched many places before placing my mom here. We decided on Stonecrest and were very pleased. I stopped in unannounced many times to visit and always observed that all residents were always treated with kindness, patience and dignity.

My mother was a resident at stone crest in Freeland and we loved the staff and felt comfortable with her being a resident there. We found the staff to be very caring and seemed to really enjoy the residents. The rooms are nice and clean. The staff was open to our concerns when we had them and I was satisfied that they addresses them appropriately.

My father’s sister is in the same place, so it made it easy for my father to see both her sister and my mother at StoneCrest. It’s very nice, and they have different activities like church on Tuesday evenings. The food looks good; they are preparing it when we were there.

The staff of Stone Crest Assisted Living is good, but there are a lot of really young girls, like 18-year-olds, from the community who work there, and maybe they are not really experienced enough to handle some of the care that the residents need. My biggest complaint is that the food is terrible. Everything is like microwaved or comes from a restaurant-shipped supply chain where you just basically heat up the food, and those young girls or the staff, who is supposed to be caring for the residents, they are the ones who are like cooking the food. They don't have a chef or a cook, and I think that is ridiculous for people who are elderly. They should have a chef, at least, to cook, to make fresh foods and balanced meals, so that not everything is pre-packaged and microwaved. But they said that they are working on it. My mother-in-law really is not in her room very often because she has a roommate who has dementia and is kind of difficult to be around. They give her meds and make sure that she takes her showers and things like that, but basically she pretty much takes care of herself. So, I guess, my biggest concern is the meals, since she can't cook her own meals. I would give them 4 stars for the care, although they really haven't done much care that she needed. She dresses, showers, and feeds herself, she walks around and exercises herself, and she is just there until we can get her out.

We just put my mom into Stone Crest Assisted Living last week. I just spotted it from the road one day and I went to check it out. When I walked in the door, they took me on a tour, they gave me brochures and information, and it's a beautiful, beautiful facility. I was very, very impressed. She has been there only for a week, but from what we have seen, the staff is awesome. They are all about helping my mom get situated, getting her settled. They make sure that she has all of her needs taken care of. They are very attentive. I am just really, really impressed with them. I've dealt with their manager, and she is awesome; she is just fabulous. I call her on the phone just expressing our concerns or asking questions, and she is very accommodating. They all are. They have all kinds of activities that require the involvement of the residents, and my mom participates in them. This facility is just fabulous. They have numerous areas where the families can go and take their loved ones or go sit and visit like in a little family room situation where it is out of the way and doesn't disrupt anyone. It’s just really a fabulous place. She has a private room, which is quite spacious, and she has a bathroom all of her own. I had taken all the brochures home. I have four brothers and one sister, and I mailed all the information to them, asking them to go on a tour, to check it out and see what they thought about it, and they were all impressed. Another main reason is because this particular facility will accept Medicaid when my mother runs out of money.
