My dad is in Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka. He qualified according to income, but he didn't qualify for Medicaid yet, so he's -private pay. It's pretty expensive. It'0s on the side of town that he's used to, and that's where he wanted to be, and he had the funds to do it, so I'm like, "Okay, that's where we'll go," but I am a little concerned that if he gets worse, that we're going to have to make another move, which I don't cherish at all. They have one-bedroom and studios there. It's my understanding if you're a Medicaid person, your rent is only somewhere between $800 and $1200 a month, but if youre private pay and you don't qualify for Medicaid like my dad is paying $4240 a month. So when he runs out of funds, then his rent will drop clear down to $1200 or $797. The facility is very clean. They have a lot of activities for the people. They have church service, I don't know if it's going to be by TV or somebody comes in, but that was important to my father because he's Catholic. They can ride their scooters in there. He can't walk, so he could take his scooter in there. The apartments are a nice size. The residents were happy. The ones that were already there were just pleasant and happy, and nobody had any complaints. I asked, "How's the food?" and some of them would even say, "Well, it's kind of touch and go, but they're new and they're learning." So that was the worst the resident said to me, and I thought that was pretty positive, not even being a great review on the food but still positive. It meant that the people were happy. And it's my dad's side of town, so that was good. The people that showed us around were awesome. They took their time and explained everything. My dad has only been there since Wednesday, but I found out there's nobody at the front desk on the weekends, so the doors are locked after 5:00. You can ring a bell and somebody's supposed to come let you in, but you might stand there for quite a while. You have to have a key to come in, but you're only allowed one key and thats left with my father, and you're not allowed to make any keys. So, I don't know how this is going to work really. I haven't seen their food yet. My sister's gone down with him, but he has not complained, and he complained about my food, so he is happier there with the food. They have like a movie room, and they have nice lazy boy chairs or big chairs, cushy-looking chairs for older people. They have like the Notre Dame games and they say that's a biggie. They have bingo, they have some craft things that they do, they have a happy hour every now and then where they can have a drink. They have dance and exercise, they have physical therapy right there, and they have a podiatrist that's right there. They have a hairdressing place right there. They have a pool room.

I went to Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka. It was very nice, very clean. They had a lot of activities. It had a bedroom, a little living room, and a little kitchenette. They had a nice cafeteria downstairs. The staff were all very friendly, very helpful. The building is very nice. When we went in, of course it was empty, and it was clean. So, it was a nice size. The dining area was very nice. The courtyard was nice, and very private. It wasn't just sitting on tables. It had a round table with the top cover on and garden areas and just it was very, very pretty.

Our visit to Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka went very well. My dad really wanted to move there, but his income was too high since it's government-subsidized. The building overall seemed a little bit bigger, very clean, and pretty much the same setup as the others. The staff was very nice. They also have activities in the building and outside the building.

Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka had a general store where people could go and buy something. Everything was for a dollar regardless of what it is. It was nice. If they earned money/voucher, they could still use that to buy something from the store. Their dining room was on the main floor, so it was centrally located for everybody. The apartments were big and roomy.

My mom is currently at Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka. That's where I'm trying to get her out of and it's not good. She's not getting even the basic services that they're supposed to be provided at all. She's supposed to be receiving the highest level of assisted living available. It's not good. The staff is generally not available to speak with over the phone, is hard to find in person, and is inconsistent with prescription refills. They don't always report or call me when there's an issue with my mother. She broke her foot and they didn't call me. Another resident had to call me the next day so that I could find out that she had fallen and was hurt. The upkeep and cleanliness have been pretty good. That's the one good thing about the place. They have a lot of activities provided, but they don't vary very much. They have some arts and crafts. They say they have some movies, some bowling, and a couple of activities that my mom has never taken part in so I can't say too much about them. I'd say the value is low and the main issue is the staff there.

The tour I had at Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka went very well. They took me around to the different facilities that they had. There's a computer room, a recreation room, and a beautiful dining room setting for all the residents. The people were nice and easy for me to talk to. I had a pretty good meal there, too. Their studio apartments were very nice. It was made of a bedroom and living room, then a private bathroom, and their own private kitchen. Then they have a one-bedroom apartment that has its own separate bedroom, a separate comfy living room, a nice bathroom, and a nice kitchen area. They also have exercise equipment that you may need, like a bicycle that you could ride, a treadmill, and equipment for your shoulder and leg exercises separately. A trainer is always there with you to make sure that you, as a senior, get the exercises that you need every day. Then they got a craft room where you're able to go in and do a lot of painting and coloring, a TV room, and a theater. If you want to watch a movie, you can go in there and watch a movie with other residents, as there's enough room for everyone. The staff was very, very kind and it was a beautiful place for me.

I went to do a tour of Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka and I loved it. It had everything I wanted, and so I decided that it's where I want to go. I love the guy that took us around, the salesman. They have everything you want and the price was right, and that includes everything, including three meals a day. It's very, very modern and brand new. They just finished building it. They only have 11 residents now and they have room for like 137 or something. It's got a movie theater, it's got a billiard room, a big dining room, and a separate dining room if you wanna have family in for like a family Thanksgiving dinner. You can have a bridge club there, it has an activity room, exercise room, beauty shop, and a barber shop. Everything you can think of, it's there. The dining room wasn't open at the time that we were there, but the staff gave me cookies that they baked there.

The Hellenic Senior Living of Mishawaka seemed good. I want to get my mom there eventually. Everything is good, it's brand-new, modern and up to date. Marla was also amazing and beyond helpful and I appreciate that. It's kind of like in a secluded place. It's right by Marion High School so they have the Marion High School sports complex right there on the same driveway that leads to that place. If they wanted to, the residents could see a lot of sporting events from the high school nearby. That's the only thing that they're close to. They seem to have very good room options. There's either a 1-bedroom or a studio and at a very good price. I believe that it would be a great place for anyone that wanted to go there. Just very accommodating. They have a barber service there and a theater on one of the floors. They had activities too, plenty of options to do if you wanted to do stuff with your neighboring residents. It just seemed to have a good layout with few different things you could be doing.

I do not recommend to move in here during Covid. The rules change frequently and don't make much sense. They have remained at zero cases throughout the pandemic and still refuse to allow guests to congregate together or to have activities together. I will update my review after things return to normal and I can see how the facility runs at that time.
