"Harmony At Elkhart is a brand-new community. It's just down the street from my parents' house and it is great. There are minimal residents, but our concern is if we move mom in there and she runs out of money, we have to move her out. As long as you've got money to afford the cost of living, it's a gorgeous building. It has great apartments and wonderful staff that we met. They have daily activities. They have snacks all the time for the residents. Their menus are posted. They have light housekeeping for the residents and laundry weekly. The staff said they had elevators at least on each end. It was three stories. They have a billiard room and a game room that families could take their family members into. They had studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom apartments. Every one of the staff members was friendly. The cleaning ladies who were in the hallways were saying hi and greeting us. The sales rep that took us around was great. We didn't meet an unfriendly person. They were nice. It's brand new, so it's still clean. It was presented well and it's well taken care of. The landscaping crews were outside doing some work when we were there."

"My mom is a resident of Chalet of Niles and we liked the Chalet very much. We like the staff. My mom is 89 and we have been having problems as far as her healthcare is concerned. She has the propensity of bawling and her needs have increased. But the staff, the people there, are very caring. They did really well during the pandemic. The food is good. I like the administrator, and so does my mom. It is not bad; it is actually really good. Her room is nice. It is an older facility, but they keep up on it. They just now started back up with activities. They were doing activities during the pandemic, things like hall bingo, connecting with all the residents, and they did well for being in the middle of a pandemic. Now she is able to go to the dining room, she is able to join in the activities if she wishes. She loves bingo, and so they play a lot of that. She is also the resident council president. I can't say enough about the Chalet of Niles. I think they are very professional, caring, and loving human beings."

"Wellbrooke of South Bend was a beautiful community, but the location was not close to me personally. I didn't like that their restroom wasn't in a good place. It was right by the door of the unit when you walk in, and a little bit further is her living area. So from her bedroom, she'd have to go around the corner to get to her restroom."

"Morning View is providing an excellent environment for my husband with activities appropriate for his condition that seems to be keeping him engaged. He is always clean, and shaved and his clothes clean. Whenever there has been a health issue the nursing staff has called me immediately to let me know there concerns. I have been very pleased with his care and the staffs dedication."

"We visited North Wood Village, and they were very helpful. We were trying to make a decision if we were going to move my father to a different facility. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were nice, but they didn’t feel that my father would probably be able to move in. We were afraid that maybe he needed too much help. The grounds seems very clean, quiet, and peaceful. "

"Cleanliness was good, and the rooms were good. The staff was good as well. They have assisted and independent living. My husband’s mother lived there and enjoyed it. "

"My dad stayed at Greenleaf Health Campus for rehab. It's older, and the rooms are not as nice as where he is now. The physical therapy department there lacks a little bit, I don't think they're very strong. The help is more abundant compared to where he is now. The kitchen is well staffed. They are a lot more helpful than the facility where he is in. They have great activities for their residents. They bring people in for entertainment, and do all kinds of activities and offer transportation. My dad's room was very small, and the TV didn't work properly. It's an older establishment. I sat with my dad when he ate and several of the residents said they didn't have much taste, or it wasn't that great. The staff were very friendly, and the facility is more adequately staffed."

"The people that work there are wonderful, and very sweet to my relative. The rooms are airy and have a lot of natural light. It is very home-like and a great place. My only complaint is that on occasion they don't change my relative's depends as frequently as I would like at times and they smell like urine because of it. They also forget to put in their hearing aids sometimes and my relative is quite deaf. "

"My mother-in-law is going to Hubbard Hill. I think it is very good. It is excellent. I am ready to get a room and go there. That's how nice it is. They have musicians come in. They built an outdoor amphitheater. They have a garden. It has courtyards and aviaries inside. They have a library. Computers are available. They have cooking demonstrations. It is sort of community driven by whatever the people show a desirein; if they can possibly do it, they will do it. They have physical therapy. They have massages and a salon. Their dining room is very nice. It has tablecloths. They can go in, sit down, and order from a menu. It is really sweet. Everybody is really nice. Then they have a bistro if they want something different. They serve 3 meals a day. They even have villas for people that can drive. Couples can move there if they want. "

"It's really tough to have a family member live in assisted living. But the nursing staff was kind, and very caring of my father. I appreciated everything they did for him. He was always clean and warm. When he wouldn't eat, they brought him treats that he liked. The only drawback would be that, we as family, floundered a bit for the first few days. A quick orientation would have been very helpful in this respect. The rooms are clean and homey."

"We chose Elkhart Meadows for two reasons: one because they have an immediate opening, and two they are a Medicaid facility. They have a lot of staff, and they are very helpful. It is a memory care facility (which is what my mom needed), but right now she is under skilled nursing. They are doing activities, exercises, and crafts. The facility is a little worn down, but it is clean. The place is close to Elkhart General Hospital, so it is close to the hospital and other doctors' offices. Mostly, the facility is close to me."

"Our Mom stayed at the Willows for 6 years until God said it was time for her to come home. The Willows really made us kids feel comfortable about putting Mom in assisted living. We were very happy with her care there. She was well loved there and was the Domino Queen! "
