My sister moved into StoryPoint Granger. They're very very attentive to their patients. By the second day, they know their name and check on her. Activities are going on all the time and she can get outside. They have a fenced-in walking area. The meals are very good. She likes the facilities. The staff is friendly, helpful, and very attentive. They have activities for the residents. They have bingo. They have musical people coming in and giving little concerts. They have movies on the weekends. They have a manicure for the ladies and just little things like that. And they play games. They also have outdoor spaces like there's a gazebo by the pond. There is a courtyard. They can go out there and sit out. There are benches at the front entrance where they can sit out there. So there's several places they can hang out.

I toured StoryPoint Granger. It was very clean. It was bright and cheery. The people that worked there were friendly. It looked like they had a lot to offer to the patients there. The room seemed very spacious. They were also very clean. There were windows. I noticed they had a bird sanctuary there for the patients, and that was very nice. The grounds were kept up very nicely. They had a nice patio area for the patients to go out and be able to sit outside and enjoy that. The staff answered all my questions. Even when I went into the memory care unit, the staff was friendly, and said hello, that kind of thing.

My parents had been living in an independent living community at another location when my mom’s dementia started getting worse last summer. We looked at three different locations in the Granger area and really liked what we saw at Story Point. We moved my parents to an assisted living apartment in August. It quickly became apparent that Mom needed more care because she would wander off while my dad was napping and get lost in the parking lot. We ended up moving both of them into a double room apartment in memory care in September. This proved to be a good move for Dad as well because his health was declining quickly and he passed away in November. We moved my mom into a studio apartment in January. We have been very happy with the memory care staff and the excellent care they’re giving Mom. She has been very happy with the food and with the activities that are provided. Most days when we go to visit, we find her in one of the activity areas. I would definitely recommend Story Point of Granger.

StoryPoint Granger was very attractive and spacious. They had nice grounds. It was well-kept. They even have a billiards room. They had activities planned. They were decorated for the Kentucky Derby. It was a nice place to be. The rooms were a good size, too. They had cooperative staff.

StoryPoint Granger was very spacious. It was beautiful. It had lots of different gathering areas. I saw the residents having dinner and everybody was sitting with everybody, and they were talking. It was just friendly. I could tell they enjoyed being there. The gal that showed me around knew everybody's name. She tried to show me some empty rooms so that I could get an idea of what the space was like. There was a one bedroom and a two-bedroom. Then she showed me some furnished ones. The people living gave their OK so people could look into the room.

Dad moved to StoryPoint Granger. We chose it for him because of its location, reputation, and the standard of care given. It is a very updated, very modern, clean, and nice facility. The staff is great. They are extremely helpful and they look out for their residents. The food is very good, too.

Over the last year I have had the opportunity to visit family and friends at StoryPoint. I have always been greeted with a friendly smile. The staff have taken time to guide me where I needed to go and answer my questions. I have enjoyed seeing the residents doing various activities when I have visited. If I needed an assisted living home I would definitely consider moving in.

Staff is so caring and kind to my dad and our entire family. They communicate with us about his care and just to let us know how he is doing in general. He loves the activities in the building and the outings too. He probably won’t be able to go out in the winter so I’m glad he really likes it there. I can’t believe I was so worried to take him out of his home. He really likes all his new friends and the staff too.

My mother-in-law has moved into StoryPoint Granger. It's a very nice place. She has a very large room. It's about three times the size of the room she had. It's got a full-sized refrigerator, a full-sized stove, a nice big sink, and lots of cabinets. It's very, very nice. The staff are very caring. Everybody came in and introduced themselves. They're doing everything we requested. It's a pretty nice facility. I haven't tried the food, but she likes it. The place is very clean. They have activities every day. They have bingo, they have educational activities, they have singing and dancing and all kinds of stuff.

My mother has moved into StoryPoint Granger. What made me choose this place is their reviews online, and number two, they had the availability that very few other places did. Activities are OK, but I'm not overly impressed. They have some sing-a-long, and I'm not sure what else. They keep them cleaned and they keep them fed. They have a little activity in the middle of the afternoon, and that's about all I've seen. I haven't tried their food. It looks good, and it always smells good. My mother is not overly impressed, but I think it's just because she wants to be back home. They seem to offer them a snack in the middle of the day. It's usually a good-looking piece of cake or ice cream. The upkeep is very good. The only real complaint I have about my mother's room is the fact that it just has a sink without a counter around it, so you have no place to set anything. That would be my biggest complaint. I've also never heard from the nurse. She's never, ever called me. The doctor called me several times, but the nurse never called me. When I ask them if my mother needs anything, 'No. She doesn't need anything.' And they don't even look at her records to see what's been going on. They keep working at their desk and don't even really pay attention when you're trying to talk to them. The staff just need to be a little more caring. Some of them are, but the overall isn't. You have to push a button to get into the wing because it's under lockdown, of course. And sometimes they let the visitors stand out there for 10, 15, to 20 minutes before they answered the door. They just don't care. And there's very little communication between them and myself.

My mom is at StoryPoint Granger. She is in the memory care area and she has a very nice room. Tiffany is wonderful. They have activities throughout the day such as arts and crafts, and memory-type activities such as music, as well as physical activities that they can do to their ability. I've eaten there many times and I've been very impressed with the food. They are very friendly, but some of the day-to-day staff are not attentive enough. There's a lot of turnovers right now and it's been noticeable that their upkeep and some of the things haven't been up to the original standards of when we first moved mom there. I still believe they're doing their best. They're super nice and they're super trying.

My dad is going to StoryPoint Granger. We visited memory care, that's where dad is going to go. We visited the assisted living, too, because my mom is going to go in there, too. The whole facility is gorgeous. It's very clean. The staff is fantastic. They are all very, very nice and very helpful and supportive. The room is good. He will have a window overlooking the courtyard with lots of flowers and stuff, so he is going to able to see everything, so that's nice. It's very, very beautiful. They have all kinds of activities. They have a great activity director. They have a dining room, and they have a beauty shop. They mostly have activities and stuff for the guests as far as setting up a big TV for football games and things like that, which dad will love.

I was very impressed with StoryPoint Granger. The living areas are very, very nice. Chris, the administrator, was very informative. He took me through the entire unit. The rooms were adequate. There were quite a few living areas. They have separate dining areas. Everybody looked pretty happy there. The staff was very, very nice. The building itself is very nice. They have a library and a TV room.

StoryPoint Granger was a very relaxing and very homey environment, very warm and friendly. There were fireplaces. It's in a nice, wooded area. Very comfortable apartment, bright light, and big window. I had a very pleasant, informative tour. The staff was able to answer all my questions and was very knowledgeable about her facility. I checked the menu and they offered to provide me with a snack. There were a lot of the residents that were meeting, more like a social gathering. I was there and got to see them start meal service. It's a very, very comfortable, friendly environment. I did get to see one room. It was still in the process of being cleaned up and they were replacing carpeting and stuff like that.

My father-in-law has moved into StoryPoint Granger. It's absolutely wonderful. He is living in a small apartment there. They're taking care of all of his personal needs that he can't do, but it's allowing him to live as an independent person. Where he is, the people are in dining room, they're in group classes for exercise, and he's got his private therapist. He is just making huge strides taking back over his own life, like writing bills and ordering things. He has assistance where he needs it, and he's becoming an independent 92-year-old young man again. My father-in-law lived at home until the day of his car accident, and he lived out in the country by himself and took care of himself until that put him down. At the other home, he'd become septic twice with a bladder infection, and we almost lost him. In this facility, there's a 24-hour doctor on call. It's amazing. The people are amazing. There is a Christopher that worked for months to get him in. Also, the manager of the entire facility within two or three days knocked on his door, came in, introduced herself and said, "I'm responsible for this whole facility. If you have problems that aren't being taken care of, I am available." We haven't needed her, but it was just a nice gesture. The other thing that we really noticed is when we first started with them, they sat and spoke to him and they didn't look at us and talk to us, but they were talking to him, which is really important for elderly people that they're not being talked to over. So we are thrilled. They call it assisted living. My father-in-law wears a safety thing on his neck, so if he wants to go outside or anywhere in the building, and if he wants to go by himself, they can track him anywhere on the grounds. Say, if he goes out in the spring and he's down by the gazebo for some reason, and he takes a tumble, when he pushes it, they know where he's at, and they can get to him. Any time when he pushes it and it lights up, it goes on everybody's computer, and then when somebody does go to him for whatever his need is, it gets canceled. It allows everybody, whether you're sitting, typing in bills or working in an office, you get a flash on your screen that somebody has called for assistance, and when the assistance gets there, the light goes out. They have it covered in and out. My father-in-law has his own little kitchenette. He is not ready to cook yet, but he's got his refrigerator for his cold drinks, his Gatorade, his cheese and crackers, and that kind of stuff. It is three meals a day. He is able to go to the dining room now. Before, like if he'd be sick on any day, they will bring his meals to him. They have two professional chefs that not too many years ago won awards for their cooking. It's a different term in assisted living. It means you go in and you live your own life. But let's say he has bowel and bladder problems, that's no problem. That's the part that they take care of. The part that he needs to be getting stronger, they take care of that. But he's not in a facility that's like a nursing home facility. He has his door, he has a little living room, he's got a bedroom, his own personal shower, and they have to assist with a shower because he is not quite steady on his feet yet. So it's assisted living with what you can't do for yourself, but you are living your best life in an apartment. It's wonderful. There are just differences because he has a catheter in and in some assisted livings they say, "You can't be independent in an apartment because who's going to take care of you?" And that's not it at all. His key opens up his door, the nurses come in twice at night to check so that if he does need to be changed, he's not going to get an infection or lay there because he can't feel when he goes. At the other facilities, they were not waking him up. Apparently, if they don't smell it when you walk in the room, they don't wake the patient. It's just entirely different. They treat him as an individual at first because he's lived alone for so long, and he didn't really want to go out of his room and this and that. Well, we noticed that physical therapy said that they wanted him down in the daily classes where people group around in chairs. They call it chair exercise. For some, they get up and use their chair to steady themselves, and the other ones, they sit in their wheelchairs and do the exercises. The therapist has encouraged him, and he's doing that. So, not only does he get private therapy a couple of days a week, but he also goes down in a group where there's other men and women getting stronger, too. So, he doesn't have as much time to sit in the room and be down about what's going on in his life because he's got three meals out sitting with men and he's going down to those therapy classes. We found out the other day he took himself for a walk in his wheelchair, went all around the building inside, just looking around, and he hadn't done that before. He now realizes because he's feeling better that, "I'm not locked in a room. I'm not where everybody's telling me what to do. I can get out and go anywhere I want." It's tremendous. It's expensive, but not really any more so than if he was stuck in a room with another person in there that has dementia and leaves the TV on all night for noise, and that's what that person needs. My father-in-law is not in that capacity. He reads and writes and sits on the computer, but if you have a roommate like that, that's moaning and groaning all night and you can't sleep, then he can't get on with his life either. The other person is just as important with the dementia, and he deserves to have his TV on all night and that kind of thing, but it wasn't the right roommate for our dad. He is living independently, but he gets the help he needs, and as he takes over his own medicines and these different things, then his bill will actually go down. You're going with one price based on your care, but then it changes. The other thing that is good, too, if he takes a turn for the worse for whatever reason -- because he's 92 -- they will do hospice there. So we would not have to move him from his apartment. He's made the transition there, he knows the people, and if that should be necessary, he can stay there and be treated, which is really important on an elderly person to not keep moving them.

We loved StoryPoint Granger. The only difference was the price was too high, but the building was beautiful. The staff was friendly and it looked like a nice place. Everything there was beautiful. They gave me some cookies when we left, and they were delicious. It looked like they had the same activities as the other places, and they had some exercise classes. The person who assisted me was definitely helpful.

My mother-in-law moved in. Our visit was pleasant, it's pretty, it's attractive there, it felt and it smelled clean, and the staff has so far been very informative, appears to have a pretty understanding about memory care, and are willing to educate the family regarding their expertise. They do offer snacks three times a day, including encouraging water. I heard that they had good options for lunch, but so far I can't get anything from my mother-in-law. They cannot communicate to me what's going on with food, but they do provide plenty of snacks in case she doesn't eat her food properly. So far, they've been excellent.

We chose it because we liked them from the get-go compared to other places. The first time we visited, there was just something about it that we liked. The staff is very patient and attentive, they're very friendly whenever I come in to visit my relative, and they're taking care of her really well. It's always clean in there, and I have a lot of confidence in them. I like how they're set up, my loved one is in her own private room, she's not sharing showers with others, and so on. I like that the bathroom in the apartment is just a few feet from her bed. There's also a great big window right next to her bed so it's light and not drabby.

It met the care that my father needed. He likes the environment, and it is close to where my siblings and I live, so we are going to visit him frequently and support him. The people are very friendly, and they have good nursing care. We have had some meals over there, and what I really like the most is the care he gets from the nursing staff.

I found it for my parents. Some people from my work mentioned it to me. They have parents or grandparents that are there. I haven't gotten my parents in there yet, but we've done the touring and right as of now, the staff is very, very helpful. I'm actually getting my parents in in a couple of weeks. With regards to food, I've only tried their sweets, and they smelled excellent and everything just looked really nice. As for accommodation, actually I'm getting my parents a one-bedroom apartment. It is very, very nice. It is just enough for them. It has a refrigerator and a stove in case they want to cook there. As for activities, when I was going through, they had an exercise class, and they were playing cards.

I looked and they have a lovely facility too. The only difference I saw in there was that it isn’t just straight assisted living; my stepmother is in the memory care unit, and it just seemed a little different -- maybe because of the clients that are in there. They require different stimuli. They were very kind, the room is very nice, and from what I know and I have heard from a dear friend of mine say that her mother was very satisfied. It’s a new facility; it almost looked like an institution because everything was the same, and there was no break up of pictures. It is more regimented than where dad is right now.

The atmosphere was very nice. The people there seemed to be very accommodating. They seemed to understand the family and what they need to do. Their rooms were really nice and spacious. They did have several different options that you can choose from. I would recommend that place, but we just couldn't afford it. It was a little bit more expensive because it was more of an upper scale assisted living.
