"Before Senior One it was a nightmare getting quality care for my father at home. We would find a company but the person they assigned to us would call off work at least 2 to 3 times a week. Finally we found a professional company we could trust, Senior One. They are professional and more importantly we always had coverage. The caregivers were prompt and if a change in schedule came up most times they would find someone to fill in. The caregiver who we had most of the time changed everything for my Dad. She brought back hope for my Dad. When we lost our PT she stepped in and got him moving. She was there encouraging him every day!! They even had a book club. My Father turned off the TV and started reading. She also cared about all of our lives and kept us informed about any needs my Dad had. She helped our family more than I can put into words. When my Dad only had a couple of days left, she came on her own time to support me and comfort my Dad. I will never forget this kindness. The evening my Dad passed I was exhausted and Senior One found someone at the last minute to fill in and help me. She was new and very young. Her kindness to my Dad (who she just meant) was unbelievable. She rubbed his legs, talked to him even tho he was unresponsive and put ice on him to cool him down. She was my angel that last night. This company helped us thru the most difficult time of our lives and we highly recommend them. One last important thing, they were signed up with the VA which is how we were able to get the help for him. "

"Comfort Keepers is a local in-home care agency. They have provided me with a fantastic caregiver, Sherri W. She has been a TREMENDOUS helper/lifesaver/friend for me and my mom, Evelyn N., was has Alzheimer's. I had to move from my life (full-time job) in Dallas, Texas to bring my mom home to South Bend, Indiana in order for her to be in a more familiar place. When I moved back here last June I was under a tremendous amount of stress from the move, change in my lifestyle AND dealing with my mother's worsening condition. I take care of my in my home 24/7. If it wasn't for Comfort Keepers connecting us with Sherri I don't think I would have made it this far in this journey. She is a wonderful, good-spirited individual who gives mom undivided attention while here and treats her as if she's her own family member. Homemaking Staff assist clients with light homemaking tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, cleaning the bath, washing indoor windows, light meal preparation, and a variety of other tasks. Attendant Care Staff assist clients with bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, nail care, medication reminders, and other personal care tasks. "I am using Griswold Home Care for South Bend and Elkhart for my wife. Everything's been good, so far. I can't complain. They come in and make sure my wife takes a shower. It's only two hours, three days a week, so she doesn't fall. Also, they help her get dressed, pick out her clothes, and help her with her make-up, and get her ready, so she's very presentable. If the weather is decent, she takes her out and sits outside for a little bit with her. They also provide some cleaning in the house. They do sweeping, light cleaning, and things of that sort. The caregiver understands how to speak to my wife. My wife's hard of hearing. She won't wear hearing aids. She used to talk up so she could hear, and they got along very well. I haven't had any problems with them."

My mom is so picky and she has actually taken to the girls that she's sent over. I was really surprised because mom kicked out her caregivers before from a different company. She's staying with Comfort Keepers now since October without any complications. Mom has enjoyed every caregiver that's been there. They do whatever I asked them to because mom has memory problems.
