"We were able to do an in-person tour at Revel Lacey. If we were living closer to there, we would have definitely chosen that place. The staff members were very nice and very helpful. We ate dinner in the dining room and we had a tour of two different one-bedroom apartments. They were great. The food was amazing; it was really good. They had a full kitchen and a washer and a dryer in their apartments. They were very nice in size and the layout was really nice."

"The staff at Prestige Senior Living Rosemont was excellent. They're very helpful, warm receptacles about having new people, and they're very compassionate people. The facilities are superb, very clean; you can practically eat off the floor. Everything's always being set, you always see housekeeping going around and dusting. They were in the process of redoing a room's new carpet and painting it. We got to look at a room that's been remodeled. They always do that for everybody that moves out, the rooms are all cleaned and the carpet changed and everything. They have little areas where you can stop and read a book if you want, but mainly it's just the gathering of all the people. All the other residents are nice, everybody just seems to say hi, and you could just sit and talk and do lots of things with them."

"I toured Cogir at the Narrows. It was like I was walking into a high-class hotel. The grounds were very clean. The apartments were very nice. The staff who toured me was very knowledgeable and pleasant to talk with. The dining area was lovely. I saw some people sitting, and they looked like they were very happy with what they were eating. It looked like they had quite a few activities. They have an activities room where they can play games and do puzzles."

"I toured Aspire Care Adult Family Home. I like the idea that there's a person there to resolve issues as opposed to a waiting list. They have a good ratio. It's a family neighborhood. It's not a huge building. It's just a single-family home. They have wheelchair-size doorways that can handle wheelchairs and wheelchair-accessible showers. I looked at their menu. It seemed OK."

"Peninsula was beautiful and has a full kitchen. You got three meals a day served to you, and it's very clean. The chef comes out to meet, and everybody comes up to meet you. "

"When I went to Life Manor the residents there were very friendly and they greeted me. They made sure that I was comfortable. The openness and communication with the clients were what really sold me on it. I thought the tour was pretty nice. They have one-bedrooms. They seemed to have a lot of activities."

"We've decided to choose Sound Vista Village for my mother-in-law because they would take Medicaid after her money runs out whereas a lot of them didn't. All the staff had been there a long time, so they did not have a high turnover. All the people there were very friendly, and their residents looked very happy. We liked that they had walking trails that were paved. It was a very safe and nice area. The rooms were not big but they were very nice. The one thing I didn't care for was that they didn't have air conditioning, so we had to get our own stand-up air conditioner. But besides that, everything was good. All of their bills would be pretty much included like cable TV and internet. The only thing that was not included was the phone."

"I am extremely grateful to have found Woodland Village for my mother who moved into an assisted living apartment five months ago. The staff has been exceptional. Nursing staff are conscientious and observant. They call me if something seems out of the ordinary, which has been particularly helpful given my mother’s dementia. She doesn’t always let me know important things, and their attentiveness puts me at ease, especially during Covid restrictions when family can’t come inside. The front office is responsive, and facilities support has gone above-and-beyond, helping Mom hang artwork and set up her TV, etc. The dining staff puts out quality menus. Mom's put on needed weight and loves the variety. The apartment itself is very nicely designed with modern, higher-end cabinets, flooring and fixtures. It was tough getting Mom to transition, but when she moved in and saw all of her things in such a nice space, she cried and hugged me. She calls her space “nice and cozy.” The hallways and community spaces are nicely designed with beautiful artwork and furnishings. This sounds gushy, but I visited many places less well run and appointed that cost far more money. I live in Olympia, but I’m constantly grateful that I widened my search. I went from nail-biting to relief and confidence in the staff. I should also mention the activities director who runs creative programs even with social distancing guidelines and the hair stylist whom my Mom LOVES. The one negative has been turnover in the on-site director position. This hasn't had much impact on my mother's situation, but I hope that the incoming director supports the current staff in doing what they do well. It's a skilled and compassionate team. If you live outside of Chehalis, at least take a look. It’s a special place."

"We will be moving into GenCare LifeStyle at Point Ruston. The facility is excellent. It's almost brand new. It was only opened up just before the pandemic. The apartment is excellent. It hasn't been lived in yet, so we're the first occupants. We're going into a two-bedroom and two-bathroom. The staff members are fantastic. They've been very helpful and very welcoming. We talked with some of the residents, and everybody rated the food as excellent. They promote an active lifestyle there. So they have a swimming pool and a fully equipped exercise room with all the machines and so forth. They have a physical director who also serves as a personal trainer. We get up to three sessions with him a week. They have a movie room and an activity room. It's just a great modern facility."

"My mother has moved into Julian Estates Gracious Retirement Living. She had gotten a postcard and I took a tour, and I liked the people, it's well maintained, the food is good, and it has entertainment for her to join in or not. The private apartments are beautiful. The staff is very good, very kind, helpful, genuine, and caring. The dining area is beautiful. It's like fine dining almost, and the food is very good. They've got a great activity director. They've got fitness, a beauty salon, a movie theater, a game room, a billiards room, and a TV room."

"I love Boardwalk Apartments. I feel safe and secure here because the outside doors are always locked. It's also a very comfortable and very clean facility. My place had new carpeting, nice floors, and everything is brand new. It's just beautiful. The staff is really good and very helpful whenever you have any problems or questions. The baseboard heater in my bedroom wasn't working, and they came right away, checked it and found out that whoever lived here before, disconnected the wiring inside the heater. They reconnected the heater, and it was fine. The maintenance is right on top of everything, and I have no complaints about them. Sometimes, it's hard to get a hold of the staff, but once you get a hold of them, they're helpful and they'll work with you. The community room is closed because of the pandemic. I've been here since the 21st of November, and I haven't been able to socialize with anyone or met people, except when you see them in the hallway or much of them are coming in and out of the door. I think it has a fair price, and I highly recommend it to anyone."

"Cooper Point Village was older, and they were filled up quite a bit. It looks like a community home, which was nice too. They were bigger, they had a garage, and all that stuff with it. It was like a little village of condos, and they were all just one-floor buildings around. I liked the fact that it felt more like a house and not an apartment, which was nice. What I liked about it was they have a pool and they are going to get organized with water aerobics, and they have a dance floor, so they were going to have exercising and that kind of thing. But, it hasn't come to fullness yet; it is still in the talking stage. "

"Living at Affinity is like heaven...meticulously maintained, managed by exuberant and caring folks, is loaded with more amenities than I can possibly use, affordable (cable/WiFi provided in a new system by Direct TV). I love the pool, the even and new walkways outside, the fact that dogs are on leashes, so people pick up well after them, and that it is calm and quiet with very, very little drama. Friendly residents. Great parties. A theatre to die for, concerts in the day lounge, and even a "senior" prom. Come, check us out and join an independent community with no pressure to do any more than you want. "
