"My mother is in Brookdale Allenmore (formerly Wynwood of Allenmore). It is a nice big place. The staff seems to be OK. They have a common dining area. They had mostly small one-bedroom apartments. They have their game room. They play bingo. They can improve on the food. "

"I went to Fieldstone Cooper Point in Olympia. It is a large facility, and I toured the assisted living section for my mom. When I got in there, the entryway looked like a little community with a theater, and Sound of Music was playing that week. People sit and talk to one another in a little cafe, so it was very engaging-looking. It was bigger than the other place I visited, so there was a lot more that they have going on there. When I was there, people were having milkshake snacks together. They also had a lot of different employees that were working and assisting in different ways. I think it looks like a nice place for a bigger facility. I remember that the person who accommodated me was helpful, answered questions, and was very friendly. I felt positive about that visit."

"GenCare LifeStyle at Point Ruston was beautiful, but it was just a little too above the price point. The staff members are wonderful, caring people, they are. The rooms were very nice. Everybody has their private bedroom in their shared rooms, but they share the bathroom. You walk through a door and there's the bathroom off to the left, and then there's a door for one resident's room and then the next door to another door for the other resident's room. They're kind of private, but they share a bathroom, and that was nice. They have a deck because they're up on the third floor. They can also go down to the courtyard, but they have to be escorted. They were wonderful and genuinely caring. The residents seemed to be very happy there."

"The Meridian at Stone Creek is a big community. The people were very helpful, they gave us a complete tour, we saw the rooms, and we saw the menu. It was clean. I think they also have cottages, but they're a lot more expensive. The cottages were very nice, and there was a garden between the main building and the cottages that looked pretty nice. The staff was caring, helpful, and respectful. The people seemed old. It didn't look like there were a lot of activities, and it was pretty sedate, although they have a bar there. One thing that's really nice about it is that it's on a big acre, it's peaceful, and not too far from the freeway, but not close to restaurants."

"My mother was at Mill Ridge Village, which is close to where I live. The cleanliness of the facility was outstanding. The staff were all attentive, friendly and wonderful. They had different activities in the facility to keep the residents busy. I did not regret having my mother live there. "

"I toured Avista Sumner. The director was great. It just didn't offer the amenities that we were looking for that we think our mom would enjoy. It seemed for older clientele who needed more care than what we hoped that my mom would in a short period of time. It's an older building, but it was laid out nicely. It had a refrigerator like you would have in a hotel room like a mini fridge and a microwave, but that was it to the kitchen. There was an exercise class going on when we were there. It sounds like they do quite a few in-house activities, but it doesn't sound like they have a lot of outings and that sort of thing."
