"It is hard to put into words what I feel about The Conservatory – Plano. I am in the business of introducing clients to senior living facilities with my company, Home Transitions. But when my mom decided to move out from San Diego to live near me in Plano, TX, I went on a 20 – facility look-see in Collin County. I whittled down the list to the top 6 and had my mom out for a week of her own review and decision. What she did not know was I had put a deposit down on an apartment at The Conservatory. It ended up, it was her decision too! Just moving from a daily view of the Pacific Ocean; country club life with 28 years of friends is transition enough! But add parting with most of your belongings and the impression that you are losing your independence, accepting the fact that you no longer can do for yourself. The Conservatory – Plano is like a summer breeze. It slowly envelops you with its beautiful surroundings but most importantly, the friendly, family support that lightly hugs and understands! You slowly loose the loss of the Pacific. You look forward to amazing meals in their dining room offering daily menus, personal service and maître/dining supervisors Pedro and John (who know your name Day 1): seat you with those they think you might enjoy meeting. It is a GREAT centerpiece to the facility and HUGE cornerstone to feeling you belong. From the start, the long-terms spoke about the friendly staff. It is why they are long-term and still enjoying the life! But two stand outs are Tobie and Kellie. Tobie was our first touch to The Conservatory! As the Admission Director, she helped us lock in a place (twice), supported little coordination issues with the move but… has the most generous and warm heart. She becomes your best friend as if you are the only one in the place! And Kellie is the ever-present Executive Director. She is relatively new herself yet knows everyone’s name, family, concerns and, I understand, has single-handedly made The Conservatory’s offer to the residents dramatically improved – noted by a full house! With a lot of words, I still have not keyed into what The Conservatory has done for my mom (and me) in her transition from the home she loved to a beautiful new lifestyle where she feels she belongs and can flourish. Thank –you. "

"I toured Pinewood Hills. I liked the three meals a day, but parking is going to be the worst. Kathleen answered all my questions about laundry. They have bingo, there's cards, and a workout room. They have a library and a movie room. They gave me a menu of what is available, and if you don't want something, you can always get something else, which is good. They showed me a large efficiency room they're keeping for me until Monday. It's fully furnished, but they don't have a stove or an oven, you get a refrigerator and a counter."

"The staff was very friendly. The facility was very well decorated. We toured an apartment and it was quite roomy. As my husband and I walked around, all of the residents told us they enjoyed living there. I was happy to see there was a chapel on site that had daily mass. "

"My mother is here. They take good care of her. The staff is very friendly. It is a Christian-based community. They have all been extremely helpful and kind. Their food is good too."

"The food was very good at Pioneer Ridge; however, they were not able to show me a room. The residents I talked to were very good, and we had a good conversation. It's number one on my list so far."

"Briarview Memory Care is wonderful!! My mother lives here and is very content. The Memory Care Director, the Activity Director, the Medical Technicians, the Certified Nurse Assistants, and the housekeeping staff are like family to us. They not only provide excellent care to the residents but they provide a loving, personal environment for the residents and their families. The facility is very secure to provide a safe environment but it also has a beautiful courtyard and screened in sun room which allows the residents to take walks on the paved walkway, plant flowers, fly kites, and enjoy the sunshine. The staff also encourages residents to participate in games, exercises, and simple tasks to stimulate their minds and to be successful at familiar tasks. There is a kitchen for the residents to help make cookies, brownies, and other treats. There are evening activities such as Family Night so that residents can enjoy a special evening with their family members. This facility is about 1 year old and is beautiful. The rooms are comfortable and feel like home. There is a beauty shop for hair care, manicures, and pedicures. I am so thankful that we selected Briarview for my mother and am so grateful for the entire Briarview staff! "

"The Chateau was a very nice place, and we had a very good experience there. They were very nice, and the tour went well. The facility was a little newer. I walked away very impressed with it and liked it a lot. It had a large common dining room and an ancillary smaller dining area set up for tables of four to eight, which allowed for small and large groups. It was table service, so they take your order and serve you. "

"We chose Solstice Senior Living at Plano for my parents because it's a smaller community and because the price was more affordable than others. The staff has been very responsive."

"I'm at Lakeview at Josey Ranch. Their location is more convenient to me. I think this facility does a good job of keeping their apartments very good. The kitchen staff is good and their food is good and that's the main thing. This is a senior living facility and we do not have assisted living here. My apartment is the smallest one-bedroom, but it is not too small for one person, so it is okay. "

"Alexis Estates is amazing. It's totally new, so everything is gorgeous. The rooms are fabulous, the chef they have is very talented in making food without salt and pepper, and using other spices. The cleaning staff is great. The staff is incredible, very helpful, and very caring."

"The people at Atria Canyon Creek are attentive and very nice. I stayed overnight, and they brought me a nice big bowl full of fruit. They tried to please me as much as they could, and they introduced me to somebody to have lunch with. They were gracious, and I met a couple other people who were very friendly. All over impression is very good. I didn't like the huge electric line which goes through the apartments. They have all kinds of activities and 2 different exercises, and the employees are very good. It's very nicely located and convenient. "

"Gracious Care Home - Allen was nice. The staff who assisted me with the tour was nice. It was like living at home because it was an actual house. It's just a single home in a neighborhood. It's not a normal facility like the other places. It was very small, so there would be lots of one-on-one attention. I think they said they only take 3 residents at a time. They only had one lady there at the time. They did home-cooked meals but they didn't have a meal plan or anything like that."

"I'm a resident here at The Remington at Valley Ranch. I just like everything about it. I like my room. I like the cafeteria. I like the people that run the place. The employees are all very friendly. I have a lot of friends here. They do a good job. Their meals are good, but I have a health issue with my stomach. I can't eat anything spicy, but they have a backup menu where you can order something other than just their regular cafeteria food, so it's sufficient. I have a housekeeper who comes every two weeks. Maintenance answers my calls when I need help. I have a really nice two-bedroom apartment. I'm happy with it. They have bingo, card games, puzzles, entertainment, movie night, and they have shopping trips, which I'm not able to go on, but they have a lot of people sign up for them. They have a lot of activities. They have a bus that takes you to your doctor's appointments if you need help. It's worth the money. They have a lot of things that are included in your rent. You have some meals, electricity is paid, the water is paid, and no tips. They do not allow you to give tips to any of their workers. It's excellent."

"I thought the independent living community of The Reserve at North Dallas was nice, if you like the idea of living in a high-end hotel. It's like a 4-star hotel. Some people wouldn't like that, but I thought it was good. The staff members who assisted us were really good. I remember looking at the place and thinking that it was much nicer than the other place we visited, and that the prices were better. We had a meal there, too, but the food wasn't anything special. For its location, this place is probably as good as you were going to get, price-wise, in Dallas."
