"I'm a resident at The Remington at Valley Ranch. It's clean. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Their work attitude is very good. The reason I've given the food a four instead of a five is the variety. They do housekeeping every other week here, and they do a very good job. They offer card games, other games, music, and entertainment. Compared to other communities, I think the prices are very good."

"Briarview was extremely nice. It's like a hotel. They were extremely professional. I was looking for respite care, but they didn't have that. I was thinking I should go stay there myself. I saw the cafeteria, the dining room, and the rooms. Everything was topnotch as far as quality. The staff member who showed us around was very good."

"I moved into Lake Forest Village. I chose them because of the attitude of all their employees here. They made you feel very comfortable. My apartment is one of the smallest ones, but it's comfortable. The food is excellent. The staff, including everyone I've interacted with, has been very helpful and polite. The facility looks like it's very well-maintained. It seems like they take pride in this place. I haven't gotten into the activities yet, but they have quite a few available to me. As for the value, it's in line with everybody else. It's not overpriced, but it's not underpriced."

"I moved into Dogwood Estates. The facility is clean. The apartment is clean. I love it here. The services and the staff are excellent. They're very friendly. They treat you like you're the only one living here. They're just very nice. People come in to play the piano for us. They have bingo, painting, and card games. They have volunteers who come in with cupcakes, and we celebrate people's birthdays. The dining room is always clean and set up nicely. The people that work there are very sweet, nice, and accommodating. The food is excellent. It feels warm and homey."

"Solstice Senior Living at Grapevine is very open, airy, and very bright. I absolutely love the location and the facility. They've had some turnover in staff since my sister has gotten there, which I don't like. They also seem to be a little short staffed, but I love everything else including the price, the location, and the actual facility. Her unit has a little outer room and one bedroom. They're redoing the hallways, making it look fresher and nicer. They have people you can hire if you need more assisted living. They do Wal-Mart runs, they have a library that has a computer, open rooms, sitting areas, and a nice large activity room. I love the openness, the hallways, and the laundry rooms. They have one elevator, which is very slow due to their request. She's on the second floor and there's a nice grand staircase that's very wide and has a platform every five or six steps. I love how it's laid out. They're by far the best in the area price wise."

"I have been pleasantly surprised with the care and food at Atria. Mom is getting 3 meals and she feels that she eats all the time :) The staff is very pleasant and friendly from the front desk, wait staff for meals, care givers, Directors and Doctors. Mom is safe and seems to like the facility, especially BINGO! "

"It is a pretty nice place. They seemed friendly and attentive. It's clean. The room they showed me was the least expensive. It's a small room, but it looked like a nice place. It was quiet. It was good. They have a large dining area."

"We settled on an independent living facility called The Conservatory at Plano because there was a flexibility for independent. There was a personal driver that would take him anywhere within 10 miles with a 24-hour notice. There were group trips monthly to different activities like the casinos and things like that. The living accommodations were actually great. He would be in a 2-bedroom apartment unit that was almost a thousand square feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a full kitchen with granite counter top and new appliances. They had a free continental breakfast every day. They had free happy hour for residents and guests from 3:30 until 5:00 I believe which is beer, wine, and snacks. They also had a restaurant style dining facility that opens at 11:00 a.m. until 6:30 p.m., and included in your monthly fees is one meal a day in that facility. You could have a continental breakfast for free and then have a late lunch or early dinner and not even ever have to cook yourself, if you didn't want to. We would be moving him there on Saturday, but up to this point, the visits that we had made and the staff had just been great. "

"I liked Parkview very much. There were people all over doing things. Their swimming pool was absolutely outstanding. They had a beauty salon and a lot of activities. Different people taught classes on odd things, which is terrific because that's interesting. They served all three meals but breakfast is always available, and then you choose either lunch or dinner. The place is lovely and I saw three different apartments, most of which had decks. The food was delicious."

"We chose here for my dad because we were really pleased with it and to me, when you walked in it was almost like it gave you a homey feeling versus some of the others that we have visited. Also, to be honest, it was also a financial thing. Their staff is wonderful and everyone we've met has been very, very friendly, and they are very helpful. We've had different occasions where I was trying to get my dad set up so he can go and see his wife at Christmas time, and they are just great. They are very helpful with little things -- like I had them coming to do his carpet in his room and they come and clean his place once a week and they are all very, very helpful. He's got his own one-bedroom apartment type thing, but there is no kitchen. It has a little living area, a bedroom, a nice walk-in closet, and a nice little place for him to put his actual dresser. The kitchen is just a sink, a refrigerator, and a microwave, which is just perfect for him. They feed him three meals a day; he goes down there and eat which has been wonderful. He has been very pleased with the food. They have weekly trips to Walmart and the grocery stores, and they also have a weekly trip where they kind of decide where everybody wants to go, and they'll take them to do something like museums or stuff like that. They've got a lot of church things, they have what they call a little happy hour two nights a week where they just all get together in snacks, and they have somebody there that normally just plays music for them and they can dance. They just have all kinds of activities, all kinds of arts and crafts, but they also got a library with the computers and stuff like that. There are lots of trees around, they have areas where they can go outside and sit, little garden areas, and they have little gazebos. "

"It had all three levels of care, but I visited the independent living. They told me that it was only built five years ago. It was good, but the rooms were probably average. I saw the dining area. They had three meals a day and there was a snack area where you could pick up snacks any time of the day. For the size of the facility, the dining area seemed to be small, but they told me that if you would go for independent living, you can eat in the assisted living dining room as well. I met one staff member, and she was friendly. She knew what she was talking about. It looked like an apartment building. It's four stories. It seemed to be clean."

"Living in a gated palace! I am in an independent beautiful apartment. All inclusive in your rent is utilities, 2 chef prepared meals, indoor pool, housekeeping every other week, linen service, unlimited daily activities, exercise classes, happy hour, excursions, Walmart trips, movie theater, limousine rides to medical appts & personal trips within 10 mile radius, free emergency alert button. I enjoy a private balcony. Library, arts & crafts, walk in shower with seat, safety bars everywhere, social interaction, full size kitchen, maintenance free, putting green, animal friendly, ballroom, church services, friendly staff & residents and common area wi-fi. I do pay for in apartment wi-fi. Designated smoking area. I cannot foresee any reason to ever move again. Its ALL here!! Join the FUN!!"

"My mom is going to The Conservatory at Keller Town Center. It's a beautiful place, and the average age there is probably mid-80s. There's a lot for them to do if they choose to. Everybody seems very friendly, warm, and helpful. Most of the residents have to be vaccinated. If you're a visitor, you'd have to put a mask on and get your temperature taken."

"I toured The Reserve at North Dallas. The apartments were very new, with huge closets and big rooms. The kitchen was very nice with some granite countertops. They had some good choices of food. And if you didn't like what they were serving, they had other food available for you that you could get, kind of what they always have. The outside was nice. The places, community rooms, and community spaces looked nice, along with all the activities they provided, and there were lots of choices. The staff who gave the tour was very nice, had lots of great information, was very friendly, and took the time. The residents were nice. Some of them were sharing their stories and what they liked about them. So, that was good too."
