"I like Chateau Cupertino a lot because when I was there, they had all kinds of decorations, it made everything very homey. They had decorations everywhere. I like the homey-ness of that place. The person who was with me during the visit was very upbeat; she explained everything. It seemed like she was more upbeat than the other one. I like this place more because it felt more homey. The decorations made me feel a little bit more happier."

"I'm very interested in Villa Serena Retirement. If the seniors are considering a place to go, they have beautiful one-bedrooms, and some of them are far larger than other senior communities. You could get a large one-bedroom if you choose, and you could have a small kitchen in your unit, whereas at the other units, they don't give them that privilege. I highly recommend that place, no matter what happens. That is number one on my list. If I had the funds right here in my hand, I would take that in a heartbeat. I would put the money there because I'm so impressed. They have a beautiful garden, and the dining room is so beautiful. It's outstanding. It doesn't compare to any others. Another plus is that they give the seniors a panic button. Like if you happen to fall or need help, they come to your aid. They also have a van that takes you on tours if you need a ride to go to the city or what-have-you. You can't beat that. You get free cable and utilities. Everything is included. It's lovely. The staff was exceptional. The tour was beautiful. They had access to secure parking. I thought it was broken because I ended up parking and driving through there, and I had no idea that it was secured. Then I mentioned it to the director, and he said it was working, but they're going to update it, so that's great to know. Plus, he said I can have two parking stalls if I want to. I could have my travel van and a vehicle there. The director offered me a free meal to come there anytime I choose and test the quality of the food service that they serve there, and I said, 'Sure, I'll be delighted.' Their menus are exceptional. The dining room is exceptional. The facility is top-notch and very clean. It is impressive. Even though the outside of the building looks old, it doesn't compare to once you walk in. To me, the appearance of the outside could be updated. I feel like it could use some paint, and they need to redo the parking structure there, but other than that, the indoor is lovely."

"I love everything about Atria. From the receptionist, carestaffs, waitstaff and the management. A lot of varieties of activities being offered. Angie the activities director and her assistant Annelly are doing a great job in the activities. They both decorate the community whenever we have special events. Happy hour is fun! Terrace and library is a plus!! The place is very well maintained and cleaned! I would highly recommend Atria Park of San Mateo! My home."

"My mom has been living at Atria Square in Foster City, CA since October 2024...I cannot begin to tell you how happy our whole family is with the entire staff and facility. The staff members know all the names of the residents and are ready to serve in any way needed. The atmosphere is like being on a cruise ship with all the amenities and activities offered. My husband and I often spend 4-6 hours there hanging out playing dominos and enjoying not only my mom and her friends but the entire staff and establishment. "Holiday Warburton Place is very clean and very organized. The person that was guiding me was extremely, extremely helpful and friendly. She provided a lot of information that we needed and answered all the questions that we needed to make the decision. They provide three meals a day inclusive and they have equipment for games and activities for the elders. They don't have staff onsite after 7 p.m., but they have that alert button. If there's an emergency, then the individual can press the button, which directly goes through 911 or the emergency people. I have seen the menu and it's pretty healthy and consistent. There's no extravagance about the meals but I think it is very doable and healthy for the elders. They have a beauty salon on the site. They have gym equipment. It's limited, but for the elders that should be sufficient. They have games, activities, and movie nights. There are a lot of things for them to be entertained with. "

"I toured Carlton Senior Living Fremont. They were very friendly and very accommodating. They showed me around, so they were very nice. The facility seemed to be pretty nice and clean."

"My father was in Cogir of Fremont Senior Living for respite. He had a hip replacement and needed a place to recover. They were pretty good. I give it high marks. He enjoyed that facility quite a bit. While we were there on two different occasions, we enjoyed live music. He enjoyed the restaurant sitting with other residents. He made a lot of fast friends and it was very useful for him socially to go out of his room. He spent very little time in his room because he enjoyed just the community. Even though his hip was hurting, he would still get out of his room and go around. That was a very good motivation for him to get up and move. The restaurant staff and the front desk staff were exceptional. They were all very helpful and very friendly. It was a delight for us to interact with them. We chose them because they had onsite physical therapists, but the physical therapist often did not show up or canceled or didn't assist with his hip recovery. It's a third party that they recommend to provide onsite physical therapy services. It's not a problem with Cogir directly. I asked them before I selected them if they had physical therapy, and they said yes. I contacted that person and then it didn't work out."

"My mom was at Villa Fontana Retirement Community temporarily. She was there transitioning out of the hospital. She needed 24/7 care while she was recovering. After she recovered, we then relocated her to the other facility. If I had the option to keep her there, I would have kept her there because I think across the board, they were five-star. My only dissatisfaction was the cost, which was almost $8,000 a month. They have friendly staff and lots of activities for the residents and their families. They have ice cream socials, they have bingo, and they recognize the different holidays and celebrate them. I thought they were very engaging and very friendly."

"The very first one we saw was The Stratford. It's quite an elegant place. It presents very nicely. It's very nice and clean. The units are a little bit on the small side, but very nice, and they have (I think) 11 floors, so it's a high rise, and they have nice views. Everything about it seemed very nice. The staff who accommodated me was very nice and very accommodating. She answered questions and gave us materials to bring home. She followed up by asking questions online to see if I had any more questions, which was good. We were looking at larger units, so we saw a two-bedroom unit. The second bedroom was kind of small, but it's an older building and I think the older buildings don't have as large units. They also have parking for people that still have cars. One of the things about The Stratford is that the places are condominiums. So you buy a unit as if you're living in a condominium, so it's a different model. Most of them, you're renting a room by the month, and you pay an entrance fee. Whereas at The Stratford, you own the unit, and you pay a condominium fee like you would in a condominium building. Some people might like that, but we didn't really like that model. The location is very good because it's across from a city park. The ambiance of the area is quite good."

"Westmont Milpitas is extremely clean. It has an indoor pool. The food is good. There's a lot of activities. Mom's apartment is great. She has a full kitchen, a washer and dryer, a walk-in shower, a walk-in closet, a good-sized room, and an eating bar. The staff is really good. I like them. The only problem we're running into is her apartment number isn't listed with the post office, which is weird, but they're working on that. They have a book club, a movie theater, field trips where they go shopping, and bingo, so they have a lot of stuff. Internet and cable are included, too."

"We liked Oakmont of San Jose a lot. We were very impressed. It was very homey. The residents and the staff were just friendly. They knew everybody, so we really liked that situation. What we did not like about them is their independent living rooms felt very small because they were all studios. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Whenever we went into a new room and we passed a staff member, they said, "Good morning" and "Welcome," so we really liked that part of it. The facility was very nice and very clean. It didn't feel sterile at all. We really liked it. It just didn't fit the needs of my mom for right now."

"I toured Atria Willow Glen. I liked that one. I would recommend it. It was clean and well-organized. The people that I talked to seemed to be happy. The staff seemed to be well informed. They seemed to work together well. They were all groomed. Their relationship with the patients seemed positive. I liked them. Compared to the other ones I saw, the facility seemed to be clean, well kept, and organized. The outside area where the people were able to walk was a nice park-like area, and it was well-designed. I liked it."
