"Coterie Cathedral Hill Memory Care was the perfect place for my sister. My highest praise goes to the director Christina and to each member of the staff for their skillful and competent care for each resident as an individual. Daily I observed how much they truly cared for not only the residents but also their families. My family and I learned to understand better what was happening with my sister who was diagnosed with dementia and learned how to better respond to her. Monthly support group provided helpful advice and experience sharing. Daily activities were carefully planned to be fun, engaging and appropriate. Meals were delicious and inviting. I will always be grateful to everyone at Coterie Memory Care for making my sister happy and most of all for making her feel at home.."

"The Carlisle looks like a hotel. They have different apartments. Everybody was wonderful. I had dinner there and the food is okay. "

"We moved my dad to Waters Edge Lodge in May 2017, and couldn't be happier with how well he is taken care of. The Caregivers, Nursing Staff, and Admins are great! We no longer worry as we know he is in good hands. Due to his level of care he resides on the first floor receiving premium care which is all inclusive unlike most facilities that are a la carte. We had visited several facilities, and were getting discouraged until we walked in to Waters Edge Lodge and immediately knew we had found the best place for my dad. His room has a beautiful view of the lagoon, and he enjoys nightly Bingo and Movies. They also have activiies throughout the day, and if he needs to go to Safeway or CVS there is a walking path that leads right to the shopping center. We visit dad 2 - 3 times a week and both the employees and the residents always seem genuinely happy...which tells me alot! We also enjoy the fresh Peets coffee and Otis Spunkmeyer cookies in the cafe while we visit with dad :-)."

"We looked here. We love this place. We live in San Francisco, so it was perfect. The nice thing about it is the location for us. I can get there like in 20 minutes driving. The location is very good. It is an urban environment, but you don't feel like it when you go in. It's very nice. It doesn't feel small, but it is nice. The staff who welcomed us was fine. He was very straightforward. We went in there interested in the below-market rate program that they have there. They have a medical part too, so that was something attractive for us. They have a little outdoor place where you can go sit. It is surrounded by the buildings so there's no chance you can get out without somebody knowing because it is sort of within."

"Aldersly Retirement was light and airy. The apartments were garden-style, not in a high-rise building. The garden area was first class. The food was very good. I sat with five other men, who love it there."

"It's like home I have made friends that I consider family. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. I have been living here for 8 years and they have been the best. I have so many memories, I have join a couple of groups my favorite is choir."

"I saw Heritage on the Marina for the fourth time now. It’s a three-tiered community with independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. I like the cleanliness, the friendliness, the knowledgeability, the quality, and the payment structure of the whole place. They don’t have any rooms to be seen available right now because they are refurbishing. "

"It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen in my life. It was immaculate. The staff was pleasant and kind. I was there around Halloween time, so they were getting ready for a Halloween party. It was rich-looking. It was off the water, you could see the boats, and it had a nice view. Everything was just unbelievably breathtaking. The landscaping was very well-manicured. Everything was just in place, everything was beautiful. They had a garden area. The front of the building almost looked like a 5-star hotel. In the middle of the facility was the garden with beautiful flowers, plants, and trees where you could sit, with sun visors. The staff who assisted me with the tour was pleasant. She was in a rush to get the party started, but she was very professional. She had a beautiful smile and she was dressed properly."

"Ernie from Marymount Villa was very accommodating and very friendly. He took us around the building and showed us the room type that they have, whether it was shared or private. The rooms were great and big enough for either a shared or private tenancy. The drawback for us is the physical location. It is a five-story building. They have a balcony or a terrace on the second floor and that was nice, but it was just limited to that. I like their dining area. It's nice and wide and it's an open space. They have a salon and a small courtyard within the compound. The one plus thing that I do like about Marymount Villa is that it's a gated building. It gives us security and confidence of safety."

"I toured Lake Park Senior Living. It was a beautiful place. It's on the lake. I saw from the upper level a lady walking on a large walking trail on one of the rooftops, and she was alone. I asked the lady who was showing me around. I said she was alone. What happens if she falls or something? The assistant reminded me that they have a little something with them at all times so that they would know immediately and send help, so I like that. I like everything about it. It is in Oakland, California, and Oakland has a reputation for crime, but that community was only less than three miles from where my son lived, so that made it nice. She said they offered trips to town once a week. They had several other things they offered. I did have lunch at Lake Park, and that was good. The lady who showed me around was very nice and informative. What I saw was a one-bedroom and a living room."

"It is an old place. What was important to me was having so many rooms for the people who stay there to congregate together. I saw groups of people sitting together and enjoying themselves, conversing, and being together. There are nature places. There were a lot of outdoor spots where people could sit and be in nature; that is extremely important to me. They have planned activities. They also have a regular happy hour where they get together, and some people play the piano. They also have a van that takes people to appointments. I like the fact that they have a locked gate to keep people in there who might wander off a little bit. It was important to me, too. The staff who gave me the tour was very good. She was new on the job, and she did seek out information that she wasn't quite sure of with another worker who had been there longer. She showed me the accommodations for both independent and assisted living. The dining area looked nice and airy. The other thing that was important to me is the natural light inside the building. It had good light. I wasn't crazy about the food, but I like the idea of fixing my own food. I would do that if I were independent. I don't eat American food all that much (I mean, the standard stuff); I like a mixture of stuff. Another thing I want to point out is the balance of ethnic groups there. There are a lot of African Americans, Asians, and Caucasians. I like a mix of people and cultures. I thought the place was very clean."

"Landmark Villa was very nice, clean, and didn't smell bad. If we had the money, we would put my mom there. The people running it seemed nice. There was an assortment of activities that they could do. "

"Bethesda is a lovely place to live! The majestic redwood trees towers over this facility. As I walk down an isle in the garden that blooms with colorful roses, a bench in the garden to sit and enjoy the outdoors. Some residents there can plant their own vegetable garden or flower garden. On special occasions there are picnics outdoors. During Christmas time the trees are decorated with festive lights. Inside I've seen the residents there paint, play bingo, participate in singing activities. The residents there are content, and eat well. They are happy! There are pets allowed to roam around the facility, such as: birds, cats, and a fish tank. Occasionally the home will provide a large dog with its owner for a visit for the residents for social activities. Bethesda is fun and has a supportive environment. "
