"We went to visit and it was a good and clean place. The people who were there were very kind. They gave us all the information that we were looking for. They told that they had a calendar of activities. However, at that time we weren't able to see any activity. "

"Our experience was very good. The staff seemed to be interested in introducing the place to me. They knew what they wanted and they were courteous to me. I could only see the rooms that were not being used, and of course they've cleaned them up, so they were clean."

"Lake Park in Oakland has a vibrant independent living component. I like the physical layout quite a lot. The rooms were larger than some places I've visited. It's an older facility, but it has been renovated a lot. It's a large building, too. The staff members are very positive and very helpful. I tried the food, but it was not the highlight of the community. They have a limited menu, and they aren't making as big a deal out of it as some places do. There were a lot of large and small rooms that you could use for different things, whether you were doing crossword puzzles, you were sitting in their library, you were having your friends over, or you were watching films. There were lots of spaces and different options, and you could reserve those for what you wanted to do."

"I've been to the Belmont Village Albany. We were shown the independent living. Although I know where the assisted living was, we did not go into that area. The woman who gave us the tour was very good. I thought she covered all the bases. We sat down before the tour and she explained everything very well. In our situation where my cousin is very touchy about her dementia, she never referred to her, but she just talked about the care offered to seniors in such a way that normalized the whole situation of "your memory is not quite what it was." She didn't say it the way I say it, but she just made that all sound very normal and that was just part of life there. I thought they did an excellent job. The staff was always friendly. We were introduced to the librarian and some care assistants. They were sitting in a breakroom and everyone was quite friendly. I like that they had fresh flowers on the table. It was a very beautiful arrangement. I liked that kind of attention to detail and that kind of life. It's an apartment-like facility, but it had several verandas. It had an outdoor space for people who wanted to garden. There was an outdoor eating area off of the dining hall. They had a casual eating area. They had a small gym and also an exercise room where someone did classes. It was a beautiful facility."

"Came in for a tour of the facility to see if it would be a match for my grandma. It was so welcoming. When we arrived, it literally smelled like chocolate chip cookies. The residents were so nice and engaging. My grandma isn't ready to move yet, but she knows Waters Edge is her first choice. "

"I did a tour of The Point at Rockridge. For us personally, it's in a convenient location so that all of her family can come visit because it's centrally located. No one has to travel far because it's not an inconvenience. They can just go and see her. We really like the way that the place looked. The staff seemed very nice, energetic, and not tired of their job, which I know can be very tiresome. They all were in like great spirits like this is what they chose to do, and they love what they do. It really shows. I didn't get a chance to taste any of the food because of COVID. They only give it to just the seniors right now. It did look appetizing. I did come during lunchtime. They have senior living, which is separate from the memory care. She'll mainly be in the memory care, so that is what I focused on. It's a different floor and a whole different staff; everything's different from the senior facility."

"The staff at The Ivy Berkeley was nice and professional. The rooms were very clean. The place was very new. I didn't have any issues with that. The patio looked nice and clean. They have rooftop access. We just quickly passed through the dining area because my mom was getting kind of tired, and it was a nice size. They had just finished with their lunch menu, and so the place wasn't clean, but the staff was working on it. There was a gate in the underground parking."

"We have recently signed in with Cadence Millbrae. We just completed the paperwork this this week, so my mom won't be moving in until 2022. The pricing was very good. They are newly remodeled. The community director and the sales director were very friendly. The staff that we met, they all seemed very pleasant. From what we saw, everything looked very clean. They're still remodeling, so some common areas are still from the old facility. All the new ones are very updated and modern. We only went to the model room and the dining area. We saw the arts and crafts room, and that's all new. They have arts and crafts, games, and puzzles. There was an ice cream social going on when we visited. There were also movies."

"The staff has been excellent in working with a group of us to get our friend happily established in Memory Care. Everyone has been friendly, professional and eager to meet our needs."

"I would like my friend to be at The Trousdale and it looked very positive that's gonna happen. It is very beautiful, spacious, and well taken care of. The staff is very caring, at the same time, very professional. The services seemed pretty complete as far as personal needs, as well as supporting independence. It looked like a very good opportunity for quality senior living. We've seen the menu and the food looked very good. They had a nice outdoor patio where people could get some fresh air, and it was very spacious. I know they have activities, but I don't know what those things are."

"Carlton Senior Living San Leandro is a nice place, centrally located, and seems like a good fit. We've seen some of the studio rooms and some of them were kind of small. They have one-bedrooms also, but I don't think there were many of them. They were accommodating and provide three meals a day. You could go down any time to get something to eat if you want to. They have activities, movies, and things like that. It is a pretty nice environment. "

"Ernie from Marymount Villa was very accommodating and very friendly. He took us around the building and showed us the room type that they have, whether it was shared or private. The rooms were great and big enough for either a shared or private tenancy. The drawback for us is the physical location. It is a five-story building. They have a balcony or a terrace on the second floor and that was nice, but it was just limited to that. I like their dining area. It's nice and wide and it's an open space. They have a salon and a small courtyard within the compound. The one plus thing that I do like about Marymount Villa is that it's a gated building. It gives us security and confidence of safety."

"We toured The Stratford. The tour was fine. The building was very nice. It's really designed as more of an independent and assisted living facility; it doesn't have memory care. The rooms are nice. A lot of them were updated. Being COVID, we didn't see many people around, and it didn't seem like they had a lot of activities planned."

"It is modern and new. It's like a very nice motel. They have a lot of amenities. It was comfortable. They have a nice dining room, a social area where they have various activities, and a very nice theater in the lower level with a big screen and comfortable chairs. The place had fire doors that closed automatically when there was a fire alarm. The staff that I met seemed very organized and experienced. I did meet with one of the residents. She showed me her apartment, and she seemed very comfortable there. They have a morning and evening walking group."
