"It was a three or four year old building. It was actually gorgeous and it was nice inside. The people were nice. I have an electric vehicle, and there's an electric charging station right there on the property. The rooms were nice, too. The one-bedroom had plenty of closet space. It had a washer and dryer in the facility. I met the staff and they were wonderful. It had more upgrades than the other facility I went to, but there's a lot of stuff I wouldn't even use. So, it doesn't matter. They had an outside court, and there was more green space to walk around in there. The only negative was when you leave the facility and make a left hand turn to get on the freeway, I wouldn't advise it. What I did was I turned right and went up to whether it was a light, and I could either make a U-turn or turn into an area and then make a turn and come back, but there was another way out of the place, in the back. So, you go around. It was a more open air kind of place. I had a meal there and the food was excellent. They were having a function event the next night. They have that one every month and the funny thing about it is they were saying that they have a lot of stuff and the lady said, "After dinner, we really get going around here," and I laughed to myself because after dinner, that's when I start slowing down, but there's plenty of activities. I don't know how many I would partake in, but this is a new thing that I'm exploring right now."

"My tour of The Crossings at Riverchase went well. The facility is only three years old, so it is very modern, and I like that. It was very clean. They had a pretty low turnover for the staff, at least up to that point. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable. She has been in the business for a long time."

"I love Episcopal Place. They have lots of activities, provide rides to doctors appointments and they serve lunches. It’s just a lot of camaraderie, very nice place to live and maintenance is excellent. "

"My mother is in Kirkwood by the River. I think it is a perfect fit for her needs. She has a one bedroom unit which gives her a bedroom, a walk-in closet, and also a living area with a little kitchenette as well. She likes the space where she can put all her knick-knacks and stuff. They have a very aggressive program of activities. It seems like they have something constantly from 9 o'clock in the morning to 4 to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Sometimes, they have something after supper including movies. She likes the worship service and the bible study. They do have a pool. They have a nurse available 24/7, and they have somebody who checks every door by 9 o'clock each morning to make sure that each resident is up and OK. They have outings to the groceries or to eat. They take people to their doctors and bring them back. The staff is just incredibly caring. They seem to be very sincere. They are great people. "

"My aunt was in Mount Royal Towers for rehab. The surroundings were excellent. It was very clean and very well appointed. There was nothing wrong with the food. The only complaint we have was that they only gave her three days’ notice to leave, and they could have been more forthcoming and prepared as we were expecting to be there a long period of time and didn’t realize her Medicare days were up. My aunt did like the facility. "

"I visited Regency Retirement Village and it was fine. I only went on a tour and she was wonderful, she was a nice lady. The rooms were big, huge and very nice. The dining area was okay. From what I saw, the dining area is kind of like a bar-type deal. From what I saw, there was really no place to go walk around. They just had a little area downstairs where you can sit. The apartments were huge, and nice. The people who worked there seemed like they were extremely nice people. My drawback is that it didn't seem to have a lot of activities and outside area that I needed for my mom. It looks good just minus those things that I needed. "

"The experience has been great so far, and my parents-in-law love it. The food is amazing. They have a little apartment that is comfortable and with a little patio. Everybody is really nice and welcoming. They really like it, and they are very happy with Somerby at St. Vincent's. The dining area is like a restaurant. It is clean and kind of like being in a resort. We were really impressed. "

"I liked Oaks on Parkwood because it would be close to my son. We looked at a studio apartment that had a bay window in it, which made the room seem so much bigger than just the actual size of it and I love bay windows. I loved that they had a bird feeder outside so I could see the birds and watch them. They have all the appliances in them. There's a stove, a refrigerator, a microwave, a washer-dryer, a water heater, and everything you need, but you have to pay for your own TV. The staff that took us around was caring, outgoing, and willing to work with you. Their kindness was just tremendous. People liked to decorate the outside of their rooms and pets were allowed. You could plant flowers in the flower beds by your apartment if you wanted to. They have a swimming pool that's not deep and they have a gym where you can sit in with an instructor or you can do your own thing."
