"I toured TerraBella Riverplace. The size of the rooms, I think they're reasonable. I didn't picture what was going to be but they have a variety of room sizes. I observed how happy the people seemed to be there. I can remember running a list to my brother of all the things I liked about it. One of the things is that my mother's church sends a priest to have a service every Sunday, which would make her very happy. As an independent, she can have her car there or if she wants to have someone drive her to an appointment, she just has to sign up. The menus looked good. There were a variety of available things to do there, they had game rooms, and people coming in, like there was a church group and a music group came in and it wasn't on their schedule, but they came in and sat in the atrium. A lot of people came down and listened to them play. I thought that was nice. The building looked very clean, and I thought the layout was good. They have a central atrium. They have three floors and on each wing, they have the laundry room available. If you come off the elevator on the third floor, you can see down in the atrium and into the dining area and see what's going on. I like the fact that they have a sidewalk that goes all the way around the building. The people who live there can go for a walk, and there are nice places to sit outside and enjoy the day."

"Legacy Reserve at Old Town was very beautiful. My friend will be moving in there soon. The services that they give are just remarkable. The building is very beautiful, it's brand new, and the staff is wonderful. It's a very friendly environment. I've only seen the memory care rooms for people with Alzheimer's. They also have a swimming pool, a beauty salon, and a little cafe. The dining area is like you're going to a high-end restaurant."

"Covenant Woods is a very large community. We have a two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartment. The good part is I don't have to do any cooking because all of the meals are provided, though I have a hard time getting used to an a hour and a half each meal. It takes a long time because you have to get down there and get a table, and then you wait, they bring one thing, wait, and then you finally finish your meal. If you do that three times a day, it eats up all the hours. It's pretty decent for what it is. The staff is very good, and they have a bus that's handicap-accessible. They came right up to our house the day we moved and picked my wife up. I didn't have to load her into a car, so that was good. They do the same thing for doctors' visits, so it's very convenient. We exercise twice a week and have bingo and different groups that come in for entertainment, like square dancers and bands. During the Christmas holidays they have a lot of choirs who came in. They have something going about every day that usually lasts from half an hour to an hour. They have a beauty and barber shop here that's pretty convenient. "

"I visited here. They did not offer the extended care that my mom needed now, but I fell in love with that place. It was a very nice place. The staff seemed to be caring. Even though they did not know who I was, they talked to me. The lady that did the tour was very helpful and called me several times to check on Mom. I was just very pleased with the facility and staff. The location was convenient, and the grounds were beautiful. It had a serene atmosphere. The rooms were adequate, and it felt homey, like a small community. They all knew each other. If she gets better, that's where I would want her to go."

"You can have an apartment at Spring Harbor. It has one bedroom and a kitchen. It's beautifully appointed, with great carpeting. They all have microwaves and steel refrigerators. The residents get to know each other. They play bridge, they have a movie theater, and they have art classes. I'd probably join that and I'd probably swim in the pool. They have exercises every day. They go out on trips to the symphony, and then when you're incapacitated, you move over to a different area of this place. When it first opened the food was very good, now, the food is just good. They have a new chef. All my friends are there. It's the most exclusive neighborhood. It takes you 5 minutes to get to a Starbucks. They have nurses and doctors on call. It's one of the top ones. "
