What we liked awas its location and cost. It's cheaper, but it has everything that the bigger and more expensive ones offer. The rooms were very nice. They have a full kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, sink cabinets, and the whole deal. There's a nice living room, good-sized bedrooms, and bathrooms that were adequate to get a wheelchair in. They have a full-time maintenance man, so the grounds are immaculate and beautiful. The scenery from there is really pretty. It's a very well-kept facility. They have alternative menus so if you don't want what they've planned, you have choices. Their menu looked appetizing and well-balanced. It was a full meal and it looked very nice. The dining room itself was like a restaurant. You go in, sit down, and they serve you at the table and bring your food/drink to you and refill your glasses if needed. They have full-time activities available, which is more than any person can do. They have an exercise room, a movie room where you can come down to and watch a movie with other people, a library, ladies club, men's club, and activities continuously for socials like root beer floats or a popcorn social to encourage everybody to come out and to be together. They also have exercise classes, game nights, arts and crafts, coffee and donuts, karaoke night, morning meditation, and a church service on Sunday streamed in from a big church in Birmingham. If you're not able to get out and go to church, you can go there and still worship. They have Bible study classes that they have during the week. It's just endless things that you want to do to keep you busy every day, all day long. I've talked to several residents that we met in the hallways and everybody was very positive about everything. They said the meals were good and the people were fantastic in watching out for you. If you don't come down for a meal, they do a wellness check on you to make sure you're OK. They just don't leave you. Everybody that worked there was super nice. I went in all through the building and all the common areas were very well-appointed and very nicely decorated. Everything was pretty clean and nice. The lady who gave the tour was very nice and very informative, too. She answered any question we had.
