We chose Trustwell Living of Springfield for Mom because she just seemed to like that place the best. The things that stood out to us was the care that they were going to give her, the facilities looking clean, and how often they were going to check in on her. They do bingo, they have Bible studies and music, and they have days when pets come in (she's a big animal lover). They also do laundry, they clean her apartment, they take out her trash, they help with showers and other things that she needs help with. They provide activities.

We chose it for Mom because it seemed to be the best, especially for care. All places seem to be equal in food and the quality of the facilities, but the overall care here seems to be more individualized and the residents are given more attention. Mom does outside therapy and loves reading. The staff is very good, informative, helpful, courteous, and kind. I get a good feeling whenever I'm there. They serve all three meals and take their residents to doctors' appointments.

My mother-in-law has been here for eight weeks now. It is a very comfortable-looking, inviting place. The staff has been incredibly responsive and the nursing staff is at the place all the time, so that is a great comfort. She is very happy with the meals. There is lot of autonomy still for people who live there. They can make decisions about what and when they eat. We have been very happy with it. She has a one-bedroom apartment with all of her things in it. My understanding is they offer either a one- or two-bedroom apartment. For the food, they are able to order off of the menu or they can make requests, and the staff does whatever they can to accommodate that. She loves the food. There is a lot of space to walk around, and they have got a very inviting space in the back. After the warm weather comes, she will be able to be outside in the sitting area and the flower garden. They have a lot of activities.
