Nursing Home Communities in Jacksonville, IL

"My grandfather was a resident of this facility before he passed away due to untreatable cancer. At first glance this facility is, to say the least, depressing. The furnishings look like the cast-offs from the hospital which is across the street and the wall treatments, flooring, and other decor have not been updated in at least 25 years. The rooms are not equipped with the electronic hospital beds that one would expect to find in a facility such as this, but hand-crank operated beds. The one area of the facility which has been updated is a dining room where the more mobile patients eat their meals. Every few minutes, someone trips an alarm and a voice sounds telling the staff to "please close the door", which gets annoying very quickly. However, once you get past the the look of the facility, it is a nice facility. The staff are caring and compassionate. The patients in the facility are there for a variety of reasons, from convalescing from surgery, to hospice care. Even though my grandfather was in the facility for hospice care, and Medicare did not cover physical therapy, the physical therapy staff worked with him to keep him mobile and strong for as long as physically possible. As my family spent the better part of 4 months in the facility, we grew to know the staff, and many of them came to his funeral. "

"Golden Moments was a very great nursing home. To start the people there were very polite and eager to talk to you. It was pretty much a bunch of people who a ton of story's to tell! But of course with every great place there its flaws. As far as the staff goes they were very professional. Would meet and greet and when could but still at the same time took their job and responsibility s very serious! When something went wrong the staff was quick to address the problem and get it fixed in a timely matter. For example when a resident made a mess during supper time. The proper procedures were taken and everything was done professionally. Overall i would rate Golden Moments with a 4/5. "

"We decided to move my great Uncle James into Beardstown Terrace in Beardstown Illinois when he got to the point where he needed constant supervision. I remember when I had my first visit to the facility and I thought it was very clean and smelled nice. The residents seemed friendly and happy. Well as happy as some could be. I believe my great uncle will be well cared for here. The level of care they provide is top notch and I am glad my great uncle could spend his golden years being cared for. I think my great uncle is happy and will do well in this facility. The food seems to be alright. I have not noticed a change in my uncle's weight since he has been here. I have not had any with him since I prefer to take him out since he doesn't get around well these days. I would probably recommend Beardstown Terrace to anyone who asked. "

"My mom was at White Hall Nursing & Rehab Center and their rehab and nursing care were great. She was supposed to be there full time, but they worked with her, got her up, and her memory has now come back. She is home for good. We loved the staff. They checked on her all the time and just took really good care of her. It's also a very nice, clean nursing home. The food was very good. We went over there for Easter and had a party in the dining room and it was a very nice, clean dining room. We had no complaints about my mom's room. She was with another woman and there was enough room for her wheelchair and so the other lady's. We could get both of their wheelchairs in there with no problem. My mom also had a walker and they were roomy enough to get around in. There was an activity going on all the time. They have people that come in and sing to them as an activity, movies, bingo/card games, and holiday celebrations. For Mardi Gras, they gave them all beads and let them dress up, and had a parade. They had a nice gazebo on one side and then when you go in the front, they have a nice sitting area. I would recommend it to anybody."

"Concordia Village is a facility that is operated by the Lutheran Church. My sister likes it there. The whole facility is roomy and clean. Their food is decent. They have quite a few activities. I would say, regarding staff, that they're a little above average. Overall, this facility is about at par with other facilities I visited; however, I think it is worth recommending to others. "
