Wanted to share that my grandma had a wonderful experience while staying at Lewis Memorial. We felt that the staff always treated her with dignity and respect. Her room was spacious and clean. Our entire family appreciated the care that was provided at Lewis Memorial and would recommend this facility to others.

If you care about your loved one DO NOT SEND THEM HERE. ZERO communication. you have to track down people to give you any information about your loved one. Concerns are not addressed. My mother was there 2.5 weeks and still did not get an intake discussion. she was sent to the hospital septic and with covid and then was told she couldn't' return because they had no beds available. This is the WORST FACILITY HANDS DOWN.

The worst place I have ever seen the staff is not cooperative the have staff seeking in patients rooms sitting in the dark and then when family gets there they say the patient isn't in there

They are awful my grandmother is in their care and they treat her really bad make her sit in urine for hours yell at her all the time if she needs to use the restroom and leave her there for hours if they let her go. Threatened her if she doesn't behave they are going to write discharge papers so she has to pay the whole bill right then and there. Tell her she is to messy because she can't feed herself so she needs help but they refuse to help her and refuse to give her a shower on the 5 south wing the nurses are horrible and have little compassion for anyone they even talk to us like we are bothering them if we ask them anything. Please don't let your loved one go through what my grandmother is going through.

Many staff were impolite to my family member; often said they would respond to a request and never returned to the room. Med was missed and incorrectly documented. Other OTC meds prescribed by outside dr were very inconsistently given, or not given at all. Dietary requests via menu were often wrong or missing. Gait belt rarely used, even after a fall. Kindest people were administrators. Direct care staff left much to be desired.

My family’s experience was terrible. For the amount of money you are charged the service is unacceptable. Not enough staff to respectfully care for every resident. Most time one nurse and one attendant handling an entire wing or two. Not acceptable for staff or residents. Administration more concerned about $$ and trying to get as much as they can out of you. Will find anything to charge you for. Amenities are old and outdated, equipment raggedy. Some linens stained and dingy. White clothes sent to the laundry came back pink. If you do not have an advocate or someone able to check on your loved ones regularly , God only knows what could happen to them. My family member fell twice, thankfully unharmed. Had an injury once on arm, took 3 days to get the X-ray right and still found nothing. Arm swollen, hand swollen and warm. To no avail they found nothing and had no idea. There are nurses and CNA’s that care about the residents but unfortunately there are some that are rude and disrespectful as well. We were able to move our beloved family member out of there to a much better facility that takes pride, care and shows them respect and dignity.

My grandmother was at Lewis Memorial and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. She had zero complaints during her stay. The room size was great and everything always looked very clean and well kept. The staff was very helpful and always had a smile on their face which goes a very long way. I would highly recommend Lewis Memorial.

I was very upset to see that much of my parents clothing was missing when they moved out of Lewis Memorial Christian Village Care Point. When looking through what was sent with them I found 3 articles of clothing that were not theirs. Also my mother's quilt disappeared and has yet to be located. My suggestion would be to clearly mark each item of clothing and not to send anything of sentimental value.

I am very disappointed with the cleanliness of Grace Point and the lack of cohesive nursing services. They are understaffed and need to employ more CNA's. Should have at least 2 for each hall and a floater to help where needed. The kitchen runs out of food/drinks and serves the food cold. The menu is repetitive and tasteless. The consistency between the nurses is very poor, especially when it comes to distribution of prescribed medication. They have good physical and occupational therapists and there is a handful of nurses and CNA's who are dedicated to the patients.

Looks are deceiving……This is a beautifully decorated facility that is way understaffed for the care of a loved one. On August 6, 2018, my Grandmother was admitted to this facility for rehabilitation after she was in the hospital for 5 days after experiencing a fall that fractured her pelvis & tailbone. While in the hospital it was discovered that she had a very bad UTI & was put on antibiotics. She took her last dose of the antibiotic at Lewis Memorial’s rehabilitation facility. We requested that they retest her since we were concerned that the UTI may not be gone. They told us that they had to wait three days after the antibiotic was completed before they could take a sample. Our family was told that they took a urine sample on August 10, 2018, and results should be back by Sunday, a little longer than made sense to me. After inquiring still no results on Sunday. On Monday, August 13, 2018, we were fortunate enough to be able to remove my Grandmother & return her home with private care. We found out yesterday that a urine sample had never been taken at Lewis Memorial – I hate to say we were lied to but – we were. A visiting nurse took a urine sample yesterday & we received the results this morning that she does in fact have a bad UTI again. I feel it would be unfair to the caregivers employed at Lewis Memorial to go on about the lack of care at this facility. They are trying to take care of more patients than they can handle, doing the best they can. Shame on whoever is running this facility.

Lewis' staff was quite pleasant, but their care was poor. Mom was in fairly good shape when she got there for rehab after an injury, and she was in good shape after 2 weeks (walking 400 yards). She got pneumonia there at Lewis and got severe diarrhea, neither of which problem she had prior to going there, and had to be on antibiotics several times. Lewis staff took days to respond to doctors' orders and seldom knew what had been done, or when. She was barely able to get out of bed after 2 months at Lewis (a huge regression). Property kept disappearing as well. The small rooms and the disappearance of valuable items do not justify the price.

Lewis Memorial Christian Village was a very good, clean, older building. We liked the apartments. The staff seemed very caring. The person who gave us the tour was very good. She listened when we gave her information of what we were looking for and gave us information. The only thing we saw that was a drawback was that they need to go to another building to do the activities. It was actually an ideal place for us because it’s close to my brother's house and in a nice neighborhood.

While there are some areas of the facility that are very nice, communication with the patient's family is extremely poor. They arbitrarily schedule meetings with the family and never notify the family of the meeting time and place. I have been told that they do not talk to the Power-of-Attorney if the patient is not incompetent. They promise that they will get information for you and let you know. It never happens. They tell you that they will have so-and-so call you and talk to you. It never happens. You call the facility to speak to someone and always get voicemail. You can leave dozens of messages on voicemail, but there will almost never be a return call. There is no follow through.

He was at the rehab center at Lewis Memorial Christian Home. It's very nice, clean, and well kept. They might have been understaffed, but they took really good care of my father-in-law there. The staff are very friendly; anytime we needed something they are always there to help. They are very polite and kind. We absolutely have no complaints. He was in a private room and it's large enough. It had its own bath and shower, a television, a wardrobe for your clothes and all of them had windows.

When looking for a place for my loved one, they made their facility sound so nice, but its so much different once you get your loved one into Lewis Memorial. They are over priced and way UNDER STAFFED. They have 1 nurse and 2 aides. If 1 resident needs a bath, it takes 2 aides to assist which leaves other residents to fend for them selves for 30-40 minutes. My loved one had to sit and wait 35 minutes for them to come help him to the restroom. My loved one had to sit on a filthy toilet seat all day, before house cleaning came to clean his room. The nurses were suppose to do some tests on my loved one for 3 days, but that never got done. My loved one had doctor appointment and they didn't wake him up until 15 minutes before they were suppose to transport him to his appointment, which meant that they rushed to get him ready that they didn't put a sweater on him and they didn't put his wheel chair feet on his wheel chair, which meant that I had to push him all the way to the doctors with his feet up in the air. I had an issue where one of their employees told my loved one that she had other patients to tend too and she didn't have time to keep taking him to the bathroom every 30 minutes. If your loved one has a controlled diet, they don't maintain or help your loved one watch what they eat. If its on the menu, they can order what ever is on it, which leaves your loved one that's on a low carb diet or low sugar diet, to eat what ever they want. You would think when your loved one is placed in a Private room and you pay the high price for that section, that you would get better care. That is not true. They don't care about the resident, they only care about the money, and they have the nerve to call their place a CHRISTIAN facility. What Christian would treat their elderly the way they do? What really bothered me is that the head nurse/supervisor would see their residents call light on and just walk right on by or a nurse would do the same. Nope my loved one didn't stay long here, that's for sure.

My parent has made an almost 180 degree improvement since moving to the Garden Villa at Lewis Memorial. Thank you to the wonderful caring staff.
