My sister is in Aperion Care Plum Grove. I think the experience isn't a good one if you don't have a lot of money to spend, because then you're only going to have access to the lower level facilities and the people who work there are not as acceptable as what I would like. I've found that they steal things and I'm not speaking of everybody. There are some of the nurses and CNAs that my sister has had that are very nice and do their best to be kind to her and everything. But I don't think they keep up the facility as they should. The food is very poor. It's all got to do with money. I think they serve meals that are quality meals, except that, the proper type of foods. My sister says that the food is not good. She was constantly talking that they put a lot of pepper on her food and she doesn't want pepper. I'm surprised that they would, for any patient, put a lot of pepper because it just doesn't make sense. It's important for everybody to have a hot dish. Pepper? I don't know. It just depends on the chef that they hire, or perhaps the money that they have to work with. They seem to keep the floors very clean, but the appearance was not that good because the building is older and it needs repair, and they probably just don't have the money to do it. But when I go there, it's clean. What I like best is that they do keep it fairly clean. The managers will talk with you about the patient. I think they try very hard to provide good care. I just don't know that they have enough money to do that, and the facility is crowded.
