My experience with this facility is very satisfactory. The facility was clean in the public areas and offered clients opportunities to engage in games, site outside weather permitting, and have conversation with another resident if desired. I have experienced such facility in other cities and recognize that this facility is on par. Being new to Southeast Georgia, I was very skeptical about such a facility for my husband. However, while it seems to meet our needs, I have no complaints about quality of care. Yram

This place is absolutely disgusting. I visited unannounced and the Director of Nursing, Octavia I think her name was, was very rude to the aides as were some of the nurses. The administrator also seems to be too busy to care. Some of the residents complained that they were not changed properly and needed assistance so I went to get someone to help them, and she said she would be right there in a few minutes to change said resident. Two hours later she still had not came into the room to change the resident so I went and asked if the resident could please be changed, and she got very snotty and told me that she would do it when she got around to it. When asked for a tour they stated, "I just do not have the time for it". The facility also had critters and rodents running around and it was simply disgusting. I will NEVER send any family member here nor will I recommend anyone else to send theirs!

My Aunt lived at Sears for about 8 months. She loved it there. She bragged about the food and the staff. She enjoyed music and ice cream socials. The staff was also very good at keeping the family informed. Every time I went to visit the facility was clean and staff was always helpful and friendly! I believe they really cared for her!

Excellent nursing home. I have had the pleasure of visiting Sears Manor many times and at different times of day. Nursing staff and cna's are always professional and inviting. The administration is always welcoming, especially the DON and Administrator. They are very nice people who go out of their way to make sure family member is taken care of. I would strongly recommend this facility to any family. Yes, it is a old building, but it is always clean and home like.

The Director of nursing here is very un-professional. The facility is very dirty and infested with cock-roaches and other bugs. They are very short staff and 1 out of 3 of their residents have bed sores which mean they are not getting the proper care they need. I definitely will not recommend this facility to anyone.

The management and staff seems to be great. Although I think the facility is very dirty and run down and the location is not a safe area.

My Mom has to go to a nursing facility for short term therapy after knee surgery. Please visit the facilities unannounced and request a tour for whatever facility you choose. After reading internet reviews I would have chosen Sears Manor because of their high ratings but after visiting the facility I changed my mind. It was very nasty and I am by no means a clean freak. This is a nursing facility and needs to be sanitary in my opinion. However it wasn't hard at all to look at the floors and see unsanitary conditions everywhere. The staff I met was super friendly. The rooms seemed very small and run down because it's and older building. I could deal with that but the crud in the corners and on the floors made me feel yucky. In all fairness maybe I caught them on a bad day but what I saw wan't one day of not cleaning thoroughly! Please visit several places. Meet the staff, inspect the place just like you were going to be staying there! Ask questions. Good luck!

My mother's been in Sears Manor for about a month and a half now. So far the staff has been good, but she fell a few times which she wasn't doing at home. It's an old facility, but the food is good. I guess we're happy with it so far. My sister live close by, so someone could check on her every day. They got a lot of staff on hand so that's good.

My husband has been comfortable and at home at this facility, in spite of being homesick and having to endure dialysis three times a week; he gets compassionate, personal care here.

Sears Manor is safe place to live. Its a very clean place inside and out. The staff are very well trained and are extremely nice. They seem to love doing there job. My grandpa loved staying there all the staff were always nice to him and he loved the food there I always heard how great it was. He loved the private room he had with cable and internet so he could keep in touch when I was away. He had a telephone and there was even a pharmacy service who would get him his medicine. The services they offer are perfect for any loved one who are worried there loved needs to be cared for. They have subacute and post hospitalization care, restorative carem specialized wound care, dedicated Alzeimer's/Dementia special care unit, social and recreational therapy, palliative and hopsice care, therapeutic and spacialized diets, pharmacy services (LOVED), physical therapy, occupational therepy, speech therapy, and pain management. This is the perfect place to get care and even love for that loved one! RIP PAPPY
