The Waverly Assisted Living & Memory Care seemed, looked, and smelled more like a nursing home. I toured their assisted living facility, and some of the doors to the rooms were open and dark, and you could see the people were lying in beds, some were in hospital beds. In the other places, everybody was older and they had walkers, but they were happy and around. Here, it was kind of depressing to see, and it didn't have a nice smell about it. It was a beautiful place, and the lobby was beautiful, but that part of it was not pleasant. Other than that, the staff who welcomed us and gave us the tour were very nice. The dining area was nice, too. It was spacious and brightly lit. It's a pretty place. When you walked in, it had a beautiful library. The physical appearance of the area that everybody would use is very nice. It was very attractive and very modern-looking. The location was also nice as it was near shopping areas.

My sister will be in The Waverly Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's brand new, so we went in and checked it out, and it was really nice. They have a beauty parlor. They have an actual doctor's office there. The doctor comes there once a week, and then his PAs come there during the week to see patients. That was a selling point there. We wouldn't have to take my sister out and go to the doctor unless it's a specialist. They have med techs on duty 24-hours a day, too. The assisted living and the memory care have their own separate dining facilities, so you could go downstairs to one or the other. The rooms are really spacious. We got my sister a studio, but it's a pretty big studio. They furnish it all. That way you don't have to rush out and go out and buy your own furniture right away. They give you a nightstand, a bed, a full mattress or a twin mattress, and a dresser. There is a TV and cable already in the room. The staff seems to be nice, friendly, and helpful. Their receptionist is really helpful. She has been great for us. She has taken us on a couple of different tours. The director has been really good, too.
