Assisted Living Communities in New Port Richey, FL

"My mom moved in at Vitality Living Baypoint Village. The rooms here are right next to each other, so she gets to see her neighbors more often. It seems more homey for her needs and the things that she would like. The staff seems to be good. I was there for days and told them to pretend I wasn't there. They responded when she pushed the button around her neck. A couple of nights, she pushed her button and people showed up. When people showed up any time of the day, they were very patient and sensitive to her needs. I've got them waking her up in the morning, getting her dressed, and getting her to breakfast. They made me feel comfortable about the fact that they were giving her the care she needed. When we first got there, we had some issues with housekeeping because her room wasn't cleaned as it was supposed to be, but they took care of that right away. Her favorite part of the building, she said, is the big deck. There's a very large screened-in patio. She's on the second floor by the entrance, so she gets to look out at the entry of the property and the landscaping. If she sees somebody sitting down at the front door, she'll go down there and sit with them to socialize. She sits out there at night and she really likes it. I was able to have a meal there and it was pretty good. The dining facility was like a restaurant. They have cloth napkins, the table is set like a restaurant, and there's always an opportunity for her to eat. They are open from 7:00 in the morning till 6:00 at night. They have an anytime menu. Mom plays Rummikub, but they also have bingo, Jeopardy, and entertainment. "

"I like the setting. It was set back near the hospital, which was very good because if something happens, it's close by. It's set back into the woods so it's very quiet because it's like a woods setting. It was a very nice place; as you get older, you want quiet settings. The staff is very friendly, very helpful, very knowledgeable, and very accommodating. They're very, very good people. I didn't try the food but I saw the menu and I saw people eating. They also told me about what they're serving and how they're serving the different foods available. I was pretty impressed. It was very comfortable, you walked in, it's very open, high ceilings, and chandelier. It looks like a hotel; it didn't look like a senior living place but it was like a big fancy hotel. The rooms were well displaced, they have balconies, the views, and the place was just perfect."

"I absolutely would recommend this community to anyone in the area. Such a beautiful place with a great staff and happy residents. I came in for a friends and family party it was amazing over 100 family members there. Great food, music, dancing, and more! Such a wonderful time. I would love to someday call this community home myself and would be delighted to have my own mother or father living here i give it an 11/10!!!"

"Addington Place of East Lake just got everything. It's a lovely place. It is in a very dense, wooded area. The only problem is that it's on East Lake Road, which is a busy road. So to try to make turns in and out of the facility is very difficult. But it's a perfect place and a lovely place to live. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and just pleasant. Everything about it was just extremely nice. I know that they're very proud of their chef, but we did not eat there. They showed us a one-bedroom. It was lovely and very nice. They had all the amenities."

"Over the last couple of years, as I've gone through this process, Coral Oaks has consistently stayed in touch with me, and I appreciate that. They were very accommodating when it came time to take a second look and come in with my family and visit. They're just good. The facilities were nice, spacious, clean, and bright. Everybody there made you feel welcome. It's a well-trafficked facility. It's welcoming. The rooms could always be bigger, but it is what it is and it wouldn't dissuade me from going there."

"Stratford Court of Palm Harbor was an excellent place. The staff was very professional and very nice. We were really impressed with it, and we had made our decision as soon as went there. The grounds were beautiful, and the location was perfect. There were a lot of activities, and the residents were very busy. The rooms were very spacious and nice, but they were not furnished. We went there for lunch, and the food was delicious. The dining area was very roomy and nice. "

"My mom moved to Angels Senior Living at Connerton Court. I've been pretty impressed. They're clean. It doesn't smell. They have great meals and they serve the residents there. They'd like the families to join in on her dining, so I go there now and then and have lunch with her. They have a lot of gassy food, and they should know better. The staff is amazing. I've learned almost every one of their names and the residents' names. They have bingo. They play, and they have trivia day. They also take them out to places like Cracker Barrel, or if they want to go shopping they can go to Walmart, and they take them out to do things. They have activities like exercising. They keep them active. The value is amazing. They give more than what you're paying for."

"I liked Curlew Care and the staff. They’re very friendly and efficient. The room is very nice. My dad likes the food; it tastes really good. "

"Angels Senior Living at the Lodges of Idlewild was nice and new. The layout was nice. It just wasn't for me. I can basically take care of myself and it's more for older people that need more help. It looked clean, but it smelled when you walk in. The staff was nice and helpful."

"I toured Angels Senior Living at Dunedin. It's a very small community, and the whole unit is memory care. The rooms were very nice. I was only able to tour a single room. It was very nicely furnished and quite spacious for one person. The staff who gave the tour was very knowledgeable, very attentive, and interacted well with the patients as we were going through the facility because several of them came up to him and wanted contact. He was very caring and helped them. The eating area was nice. It was a larger dining room, and it had a patio that opened off and led out to the enclosed garden area, so it was nice."

"Angels Senior Living at The Reserves Of Idlewild was a newer facility. I like the room for my wife. They were repainting everything. I like the lady who took me on a tour there, and it looked like they had everything that we needed. They even set us up with a preferred rehab specialist there, so it was pretty amazing. They had a rehab center. They had three meals a day. They had different levels of care. They had a bus to take people around, a beauty shop, entertainment, and activities. It was a modern facility."

"Tampa Gardens Senior Living was so clean and so beautiful. It has many amenities. The dining room is perfect. The only thing that we saw that we don't like is the bedroom. It is so small, but the bathroom is perfect. The little kitchen is also perfect. The place is nice and the price is good. The staff is very friendly, and they explained everything very nicely. Everybody was nice there. The girl was very sweet, and she explained everything correctly. The building is beautiful. It's near the trees. It has a beautiful garden outside, and people can stay outside. It's nice. It has many amenities there. We love the place."

"I went to Brookdale Carrollwood, and it was about the same as other places I visited. It was very nicely kept and very clean. I didn’t take as much time going through the facility like I did the other one in Northdale, but I was impressed with what I did see. Brookdale must have a certain standard that they try to uphold. The dining area was empty because it was after lunch, so there was no one in there, but it was nice. "

"I took a tour here, and that was a matter of money. It was wonderful, the dining room and living space put together, you could sit right outside the dining room and private dining area, and it’s very nice. It was nicely decorated, the overall atmosphere seemed very attentive to the residents there. If they have a complaint there, they don’t have that feeling that they were ignored, I have never heard that there. They have to interview the family and the client, they were very detailed. They want to make sure to the family that they will be there as well. They have sing-a-long, board games, an activity area that is centrally located, and trips."
