I am/was a resident of this facility

I stayed in Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care. Patty was wonderful. She manned the phones. She was great. She knew that I had a dog, so she would give my dog treats all the time. That's wonderful. Everybody likes that. They had much better activities; they had bingo. It was a nicer place, much better. The food is not enough, a very small amount, it took them forever to come out and feed you. You sit around there for hours on end waiting for the food to come out.

I visited this facility

Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care was claustrophobic. It was nice, but not my cup of tea. I think that people are too old. The building was nice, but it was just a nursing home-type situation. So, I didn't like that. The staff was nice, friendly, and excellent. I met the chef and saw the food and it looked really good (I went there early in the morning right after breakfast). The outdoors was nice, but there's like a cow pasture across the street. I thought it was way too close. There were not a lot of places to go, but the facility was nice. It was great and was very clean. The only thing I didn't like was where it was put.

I visited this facility

Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care was a very nice-looking place, but it had a more hospital feel to it because it was very clean. It was very large, spacious, modern, and newer. It had chandeliers in the dining area and it looked fancy. On the day of the tour, we had to wait and we felt like we were kind of on our own looking around the place. The staff wasn't very accommodating. I saw a hair salon and a fitness room. I just felt like if my husband stayed there, it would be difficult to get personalized attention.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom moved into Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care. She gets some help with walking because she's a fall risk, and she has some memory loss, so she gets help with that. She gets help if she needs bathing and stuff like that. She's served three meals a day. The staff is very friendly. The facility is perfect. My mom is really happy with the food, and that's all that matters. They do arts and crafts, reading, shopping, bingo, cards, and stuff like that. Everybody I have spoken with loves the food.

Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care was clean. It's a little dated, but it's well kept. The staff members were very friendly. They were good. There were no activities going on at the time of the visit. They did have a calendar, and it seemed like there were several different activities available for the residents. The rooms were very small. They had a very nice outside space for their residents. I would suggest that they update the condition of the facility.

My mother-in-law will be moving into Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care. Our visit there was good, and the lady has been communicating with us. Even though it's crazy COVID time, she allowed us a walkthrough. She got special permission so we were able to go in and check out the place. They're even coming to my house to assess her, so it's all been fine. The facility is a little older, but it's well-maintained and they're in the process of remodelling it. Their dining area is great; it's pretty big. She'll be in the memory care, which is a separate section, but it's still a nice setup for her. It's clean and there's a lot of activities, so I was very pleased because it's what we wanted. When we walked in, we knew it was gonna be it. They have the outside space for the memory care people, and it's very nice. It's a secure space. They have amenities like a hair salon. My mother-in-law will have a shared room, which is clean. They have a plethora of activities.

I am very disappointed with the staff and management. Rarely does anyone answer the phone and even fewer times have I received a call back to the messages I have left. Nor, have all my messages been given to my friend. I have sent packages to my friend who didn't receive them for up to a whole day after they were delivered! My friend, tells me everyday how awful the food is. I understand that Oakview may not have any control over some procedures/processes, but simple, basic, quality of life matters, like getting messages and very important packages to residents should be a priority. These are the things that put a smile on peoples faces.

Oakview Terrace Assisted Living & Memory Care was huge, and I think my mom would have just gotten overwhelmed and lost in there, but Holly did an excellent job on the tour. She took time with me, and we talked in her office. Evidently, she lost some staff and was reworking some things. She took me back to her memory care unit and we met one of the workers, Nina. She was like the big sister to all the residents in the memory care. She was very, very nice and I enjoyed talking to her. They also had a wonderful garden outside where you could walk, and that's where the assisted living group was. The other concern we had was that it was farther away. It would have taken me forty-five minutes to get there, and that was going to be a little bit much. The outside garden was fenced in, so it was very secure, very nice, and serene. I believe they had single rooms and they were small. She showed me one room and everything was in there, like the bed and dressers. It was really nice. The resident who lived there had a lot of dolls and stuffed animals in her room, so she had it decorated. I think it needed some upkeep and renovation, though. Since she had lost some staff, she didn't have enough help at the time.

I like Oakview Terrace very much. It's nice and very pretty. The people are nice. Now, because of the COVID, it is still under quarantine. The food is brought to our rooms and we only go out to go to the hospital and things like that. I like the food, it's pretty much like before, and there are different varieties too. The staff is very nice. The value for the money is excellent.

The area that the Oakview Terrace Assisted Living is in was very nice. It has a beautiful backyard, and I noticed that a lot of the residents were sitting outside. They have an area where the residents who choose to walk can do that; it's nice to hear that they can go out and do some walking. The director was very pleasant, very informative, and very likeable. She answered all of our questions and we're appreciative of that. We had a chance to tour some of the rooms and they're fairly spacious. It's an older facility and it probably needs some renovation, but they're working on that. There were workers doing some piping, so they were trying to upgrade everything. It also needed some paint. It was very nice, the only problem we had was the distance from where we are.

Oakview Terrace is under new management, and it's quite improved. When my mother was there, it was horrible in every area. I'm quite happy with them now. The new manager is wonderful, sweet, very much in control, and very caring. It will be really good under her new management. They got rid of a lot of the nurses and staff. The residents we knew seemed much happier; they were very happy to have the new management and the new people in place. The rooms were very a good size and clean. They were making some cookies and doing different crafts. They have a pastor that comes in for church on Sundays, and they have physical therapy and movie areas. Each floor now has its own nursing room where the residents can get their medication every day and get their blood work done. They also have long-term and memory care. It's a large, but old building, and it has big rooms.

I like the staff. It has a homey feeling when you go in, and it was located close to family. My aunt is in a more secure side of the community. The food looks fine. I would like to see more activities than there are.

Oakview Terrace is a very nice place. I went there for a tour. They have very nice rooms, and you can choose from private to semi-private rooms. You can also bring your own furniture, or you can use what they have. It looked very clean and open. The people are very nice.

It was very clean but not what I was actually looking for because my parents are independent living and this facility was not an adequate size for them to live in. It only had a kitchenette, not a kitchen. They do provide three meals a day, but my parents like to be able to cook for themselves if they want. There wasn't any room for privacy and just one bedroom. They did have some good activities there, like taking the residents to WalMart or on trips to doctors' appointments if needed. It was more like a rest home than an independent-assisted living facility in my opinion. I was most impressed by the activities that they had planned, but they didn’t have adequate space to do the activities.

My mother is already in Oakview Terrace. She has a very nice room. She really likes it. It is a good size room. My mom is on a pureed diet, but the food is OK. The staff is very nice. They are very cordial and helpful. They are attentive to the patients, and most of them are friendly enough. There is one I don't really like, she is not really friendly. The facility is clean. I like it; however, it is not really that social. They do have a lot of social activities going on; however, there are a lot of people like my mom, who is not doing well, so she can't really do activities.

Oakview terrace is a very nice facility. I didn't know that assisted living facilities could be so nice. usually I would think of them as grey and boring but everyone who works there is really nice and provides many accommodations for my grandma and my family. The rooms are kept very clean and everything is super sanitary. It never smells and there are never any signs of pest problems. The facility has a large tv room so that is usually where we hang out when we visit my grandma. They also have a lot of daily activities so that my grandma is never bored. She has made many friends there and i think we made a great choice with choosing Oakview terrace.

We had a chance to visit Oakview Terrace together with my aunt. It was a wonderful community. The people are all smilling. They have a home-like environment. The staff are really accomodating and they really want to help you with anything you asked. When we visit the place the residents are having bingo and I think it's one of those activities that the residents are happy about. I would recommend Oakview Terrace to others.
