Assisted Living Communities in Daytona Beach, FL

"We have moved here to Seagrass Village of Port Orange. The community is pretty open. It offers very nice apartments, it offers three meals a day, and it's close to everything in Port Orange in terms of shopping, physicians, and veterinarians, and that's the reason we chose it. Every day the meal varies, all seven days a week. Generally, they have eggs, pancakes, and French toast, and they have it with bacon and sausage. They have fruits, coffee, and juices. They have a wide selection for all three meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The quality is excellent. They have all kinds of activities in terms of places to work out. They have movies. Every Friday afternoon, they have live entertainment. They have an open bar on Friday afternoons. It's called happy hour for an hour from 3:30 to 4:30 before the first evening meal. There are a lot of things here that are very positive that we like, and that's why we enjoy the place. The building is pleasantly appearing. It's multi-story. It's on the main road here in Port Orange. It's easily accessible to I-95 Main North-South Expressway here on the East Coast. So it's ideally located. Our son found it for us."

"The staff of Brookdale Ormond Beach is friendly. It is clean and a manageable size for the number of residents. It is all fresh, no canned or frozen, excellent food, and the residents have input in the menu. They have many activities and a shuttle service. It is in a convenient location, and the grounds are always well kept. It has only been a short time, but we are happy with it so far. "

"Grand Villa of Ormond Beach was nice. I saw their dining room and physical therapy room. It was clean and looked nice. It was a nice place as far as I can remember. "

"An impressive facility with a wonderful staff. Love the pool, which provides perfect exercise for seniors, maintaining and increasing muscle strength, balance, and agility. The people here are interesting, and the common areas attractively done, promoting more active social lives. The rooms are sweet for those times you would just like some privacy."

"My mother-in-law moved into The Addison of Port Orange. It looks like a five-star hotel. It's very nice, professional, and extremely clean, so I chose them. They offer state-of-the-art care. They have a lot of AI things going on, like modern technologies to help with balance. They have in-house PT and OT. So, that was also very, very good. The food is excellent, too. They have their private chef. Even my mother-in-law with Alzheimer's feels like she's in a fancy restaurant, a very nice place. They have the lowest patient-to-staff ratio, so they have a lot of staff. They are a bit pricey, but you get what you're paying for with them, so that's fine."

"My Aunt stayed here and when she first toured it, she called it “homey”. I live in PA and my Aunt’s DPOA, so being able to contact a live person was important for me if I was unable to reach my Aunt or if something was off. From Taylor at the front desk, the PT girls, the cafeteria staff, the aides to Stefany in charge of nursing…all of them were available for my call and if I had to leave a message they always called back. They offer an array of services and my Aunt loved the food! They were definitely an affordable place, but the staff was kind, caring and helpful. Great place!"

"We toured Lexington Place. It's a nice community. It's relatively modern and up-to-date. It lacks a swimming pool or any scenery, but other than that, it's a nice facility. The staff was very good. They try to keep you entertained and keep you busy. It's nice they have guests who offer musical entertainment. It sounded very nice as far as the activity is concerned."

"This place was wonderful to my father. I would highly recommend them. My father was so well taken care of, and they are amazing!"

"The room at Grand Villa of DeLand was nice. If it was a single room, it had a room for a larger bed, and if it was sharing, it had room for two twin beds. They were adequate and big enough. It looked like they had a few amenities. If you're in assisted living, they had a pool, a fireplace you can sit in front of, a place for TV, a card table for people playing cards, and a place to sit outside."

"Rooms are very nice, if a bit small. For a large institution, the food is very good. Interaction between the staff is ok. It could use some improvement as there is one or two good nurses. The rest seem to be just pill pushers. On the tech there are four really good techs, some good and some bad."

"Brookdale DeLand is an excellent community. What I like most was that it didn't have that hospital type smell. It was clean. It was wonderful. It smelled like being at home. Everything was clean. It was just fresh. I heard music a lot, and I like that, too. The staff members were very, very friendly, and very welcoming. They have a dining room and I liked that my loved one won't have to be confined to a room to eat. Not only that, but she can also eat her food in the dining room, or she can take it back to her apartment. It would be up to her, it's her choice. The staff member who toured me was wonderful. The dining hall was a big area, but the tables and chairs looked like being at home. The highlight there is the openness of everyone. They've answered my questions and asked if I had any more questions. They were very patient and very open with me."

"I have found Grand Villa of Palm Coast. I'm on their waiting list. Compared to other locations in and around Jacksonville, I found that this place had a little bit more square footage for the same price. It also had the amenities that everyone else had. It's smaller than some of the communities that I saw in Jacksonville, and it felt more comfortable to me. They have independent living locations that are all separate and then they have assisted living and memory care that's all in another building. It was just nice. I did not try the food because food is not a particular concern for me. Every staff that I encountered was pleasant and very helpful. They have the normal weekly calendar that everyone has of the things that you can do. There was nothing that stood out, it was just enough to make it interesting for me. The area that is off the beaten trail, but close enough to the other things that were available in Palm Coast just makes it convenient. It had just gone through a renovation, and my impression was that they had taken up a lot of carpeting and putting down wood, so everything looked neat and attractive to me. I saw people riding bikes, which I thought was kind of fun and interesting. They have walking trails. They have at least five activities that seem to go on regularly during the week, and then they have at least five or six other things that are offered. They do a monthly food thing where they accept food from around the world. They have the traditional stuff like cards and exercise and things like that. They didn't have anything on their schedule that stood out, it was just what I had seen at every place else, which was enough for me. I wasn't looking for a lot of activities because I'm a pretty active person."

"Our family has lived in Deland for quite a few years, so we're familiar with Woodlands Tower. We checked them out and they gave us a tour. We're very pleased, so that's why we moved here. It's perfect. It couldn't possibly be better. It's very nice here. The apartments are big enough; with one bedroom, a large living room, and a kitchen. The people that work here are absolutely wonderful. The place is clean, they have nurses, doctors and security guards. The food is excellent, too. We couldn't ask for anything more. "

"I toured Angel Premium Care LLC. Upon entering the home, it is a private dwelling. It was very clean and very nice. She had one other patient in the home who was bedridden. If we decided to go with that, my mom would have shared the room with the other patient. I didn't particularly care for that because it was a male, and there was no separation in the room. In other words, if my mom had gone there, a male could have been in another bed. I didn't care for the fact that the residents mostly have to stay in that one room because it is a private home. So, she is doing a good job. The owner was very nice, but it would not be for my mom. It was very nice on the inside. The owner lives there, so it was kept up. I don't want to say anything bad about it, but for my mom, it's just not the right place."
