The tour I had at Grand Villa of Ormond Beach was very good. I think one of their goals is to make you feel at home, like you're just not in a facility, but you're in a homey place. The only thing is it is not in the greatest area in town. There's a lot of traffic there and it's not much on the countryside. It is more in the city. The rooms were well-kept, roomy, and maintained well. The person that gave the tour was very good. My father liked her a lot. The dining area was very nice. The day we went there, they had a musician that was singing karaoke style and there were a lot of people in there, and they were all enjoying themselves a lot, so it was great.

We chose Grand Villa of Ormond Beach for Dad because the price was right and they're not on that point system that everybody seems to be on and that can add up. They waived the amount that you have to pay to get into the facility (the one-time fee). We didn't have to pay for it. Plus the room that we got was large. It was nice. My dad is 93. He came from a rehab facility, but he got COVID there. He lost three weeks of physical therapy and it debilitated him. So, Grand Villa of Ormond Beach is doing aggressive physical therapy with him and he's doing very, very well. He likes it there. He likes all the activities they offer and the food. The staff is very friendly. They have many amenities that most of the other facilities offer, but it just seems to be more on a level that he can understand and they have somebody looking after him 24/7. They have a salon and I like that they have mobile doctors. I like that they had a podiatrist come in today and do his foot care. They got a lot of that going on and they have house physicians and it's good.

My mother is in Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. They raise the cost continuously. They tried to contact me last week and I didn't get back to them on time. They left me a lengthy voicemail. They accused me of spending my mother's money and they were threatening to notify DCF. I'm very angry that they said that. I threw it back at them, saying that I pay a portion of her stay. I would not recommend that place. They lose her clothes all the time. She went without a shower for a week or so, and her fingernails are not trimmed. She's in a shared room, but it's not a two-bedroom. It's a one-bedroom and they scrunch two people in the one-bedroom. She's paying a lot of money for that. The food has a lot of sodium in it. At one point, I had to try to help my mom make decisions on what to eat because of the sodium. After I stopped doing it, I noticed she was getting more swollen because of certain food. They're short staffed and they're lazy. They're extremely expensive. They need to cut down on their pricing and stop increasing it frequently during the one-year span.

Our tour experience with Grand Villa of Ormond Beach was very good. I liked them a lot, which is why we chose them for my friend. The staff was very engaging and very concerned with each resident. The rooms varied, and some of them were great. There were a couple of beautiful rooms on the second floor with a beautiful window and a view of the courtyard. The menu looked nice and varied. The residents have choices, so that's always a good thing. There was a lot of activity going on. They have their own bus that takes the residents to different outings, and that's one of the reasons why we chose it, too, so that there could be a lot of stimulation. The atmosphere was very nice and very homey.

I went to the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. Very neat area, neat in the sense of cleanliness, and everything else seems to be very well organized. The staff was helpful, her name was Kimberly, and she's the admissions person there. She's very good, very welcoming, and inquisitive on what we were looking for. The dining area was very well laid out. We didn't eat there, but it was very, very nice.

I went to Grand Villa of Ormond Beach yesterday. It was okay. The room looked nice. It had a room for a little table, a sink in the room, and then of course a full bath, but then it also had a little extra sink. They had laundry. They had a hair salon. They had a gathering room. They had social activities. They had a bus that took people on excursions. The facility wasn't new, but it was clean. The staff who assisted me was nice.

A very clean facility. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. All my questions were answered and I felt it would be the perfect fit for my sister. Food looked delicious as my sister was a very good cook, so this meant a lot. Day time activity was in progress as they sang Xmas carol along with activity staff. The rooms were very nice and clean. The tour of the facility was very effective and enjoyable led by staff. In the community I noticed several eating places if I desired to take my sister out for a meal.

Check in and Check out is easy when we visit. There's always a staff person(s) at the front desk. Very clean. We get phone calls on any updates about Covid. The office staff made us aware about VA benefits. They have always followed up on anything promised. Grand Villa in Ormond was recommended by two friends who are nurses. My mother in law (a retired Halifax Hospital nurse) has been a resident there for 18months. Our family noticed that her mental and physical health started improving within the first few months. She feels safe, and is obviously getting the care she needs.

I toured Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. I love Grand Villa when I went there. Because it is not memory care only, the memory care patients are on the second floor, which I understand, so they won't escape, and they are separate from the ones that aren't in memory care. But I was concerned about the stairs. I said something about what about if they come down the stairs, what if they might fall? And the staff said they go up and get them and take them down the stairs, so I was okay with that. I like them very much. The physical appearance of it is very nice. I like it. The building is nice, and the grounds are nice. The kitchen looked like it was restaurant-style. They have an activity room. It looked very well-kept and very nice. Nothing wrong with it. The staff was nice and friendly. They have nice rooms and good size. It's the same as the other place that I went to.

I went to the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. It was great. All the people were very professional. They were timely. They answered all my questions. It was a great facility. Everybody seemed to be happy. We were looking at the long term care portion only. When we went up there, they actually had some rabbits and things in the activities room. Everybody seemed very happy and content. We would have gone there, but my father fell and needed other arrangements. It's very clean, and the grounds are pretty.

I just finished touring the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. I met with the two ladies, Kimberly and Alicia. They gave me the tour, and it was just wonderful. It's small. It's cute, and it's personable. I enjoyed that it's like a whole family atmosphere. The staff who toured me was an absolutely wonderful person. She was so nice. She was honest, straightforward, and tells you like it is. She gave me advice and gave me some solutions. I was able to grab a hold of that and go "OK, let me put some things in the place, and I might be able to get my mom there." She gave me some really good thoughts and solutions. They were very, very helpful. In the memory care there was a seating area, where there were ladies and there were residents there watching TV. They had tables there. One had a game going on with one of the activities people. They're pet friendly. They have a pet there to help with the residents. They've got activities going from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 at night. It's wonderful that my mom can be really active and busy. My mom wouldn't have to walk far or go far. It was very good.

Prior to my dad going to his current place, we originally put him in a place called Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. He was admitted there on December 30th. It's assisted living and it has a memory care component to it. When we took him there, they did an evaluation, and they admitted him as an assisted living resident and assured us that if it didn't work in the assisted living part, they could transfer him to memory care. He was admitted as an assisted living resident after the evaluation that the nurses at the facility did on him. We put him there on the 30th and it was around after lunch when we got him all moved in. We never saw any nursing staff or anything after that. It was 4 o'clock and it was time for my dad's medicine and they had not given him any. When I went to ask them about the medicine, they said, "No, we're not giving him his medicine because it's not the right schedule." I assured them that it was his medicine schedule. They were very upset because what they had put in the computer and what was my dad's medicine schedule were 2 different things. They were going to have to call the doctor to get that changed and they were not happy about that. Finally, he got his 4 o'clock medicine and we sat around waiting to see when dinner was or are they going to come to get him or what have you. By this time, we were there for almost 4 hours. Finally, at 10 minutes before 5, my husband said that maybe I should go find out when dinner is, so I went down to the front desk to find out. His dinner was supposed to be at 4:30 and nobody even let us know. They didn't even have him listed as a resident or even get any dinner that night. That kind of sent up some red flags, and I'm thinking, "Here's a man who needs more care than what they're already providing." They assured us that they would make sure that he got those meals. Also, because he needed help getting bathed, dressed, and getting in bed and all that, they would do that too. This was on December 30th and December 31st, about lunchtime, just less than 24 hours, they called and told me to come to get him because they could not take care of him and that he was going to need more care than they could provide. I said, "Well, what about the memory care part?" and they said they can't take care of him in memory care either. The only thing they could do was to send him to the E.R. We already couldn't take care of him, that's why we put him somewhere and he needed 24-hour care. My dad sat in the E.R. at a hospital in Daytona Beach for 5 days until we could find somewhere else to put him in. Not only did that exacerbate his dementia, but we've also accrued medical bills now that was unnecessary because they assured us that they could take care of him, and then they couldn't. 10 days after his discharge from that hospital, he got COVID so we're waiting to see the effects of that too. Needless to say, I'm not very happy with the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. The appearance of the place was good. They had a nice atmosphere, it looked clean, and it didn't smell too bad. It's 2 stories and the upstairs was not quite as nice as the downstairs but it was okay. The staff was not as helpful and friendly as we originally were hoping they would be. We sat with my dad in the dining room and the food looked okay. We had been there 3 other times and they assured us that they had activities but we only saw activities once when we were there. His room was pretty nice. It had carpet on the floor, which I wouldn't recommend in assisted living with all the incontinent issues, but it was pretty good. I think that if somebody is looking for a facility for their family member, especially if they have dementia or Alzheimer's diagnosis, they probably should really look into the details and make sure that wherever they put them, the facility is going to be able to take care of them instead of bouncing them around from one place to the next trying to find the right fit.

The rooms at Grand Villa of Ormond Beach come in different sizes. They were spacious and homey. The staff was amazing and the food smelled really good. There was no odor or anything that many nursing homes have. This one felt amazingly different. It just felt like home. I checked out the memory care and it was very clean, and the residents looked very cared for. They have activities every day that look interesting and enjoyable. They have a salon and church services.

I had a good visit at the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. They were expecting me, and they were on time for my visit. They gave me a lot of information and a brochure. It was a nice facility. They followed up with me and gave me some valuable information afterward as well, so I appreciated that. The rooms were nice and they were exactly what we needed. They were small, but they were studios, so I expected them to be small. They have resident activities, games, books, and things like that. They had a calendar of events. It seemed homey. There were assigned tables for each of the residents in the dining area, and that was the part I didn't care for that they sit at an assigned table and if other people didn't show up, then they eat alone, and they didn't get a chance to move their table. But I did understand why, because they check on the residents that don't show up for meals, so I understood why they did it. It was a dining room with four-top tables.

My dad is at the Grand Villa of Ormond Beach and he's doing very good. From what I've seen in the administration, the nurses, and everything, they're all excellent. He says the food is good and they have activities that they can get involved with every day. They have a happy hour in the afternoons like about 4:00 or 5:00, and they can go outside to the grounds. It's a very, very nice place. It's very, very clean, and everybody's helpful.

I will be moving into Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. The place was kind of opened up. I liked the size of the rooms that they had, and sharing one bathroom with just two people is fine with me. They will bring your food trays to you. You can eat it in your room, or you can go to the dining area and you can eat there. The main reason why I picked them was it's closer to my kids. I have three boys in the Daytona area, but I couldn't find one in Daytona that I liked. It looked really, really clean, modern looking, and up to date on everything. It looked really pleasant and very nice. It just gives off that look that you'd be comfortable here. The person who gave me the tour was very pleasant. She's been working to get me in here for a couple of months now, ever since I did the tour. She called me and said they have an opening for me right now. She was really consistent in keeping in touch with me, and that was a good plus. She showed me everything I needed to see and answered any question that I needed to know. She brought a lot of things to me. She was a very good help. I was pretty pleased with everything I've seen.

I was impressed with the people that dealt with me at Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. I was also impressed with the grounds, the facilities, and their amenities. I saw the dining room, and the people who greeted me were really very pleasant. I talked to a young lady that went over everything. She showed me the room, which was nice and spacious. I was pretty much shown everything. They have an exercise room, and a room where they do bingo and things like that. I talked to a woman and she was just fantastic. I would rate the staff a five because of her. She's very concerned about me. I was honest with her and told her I'm visiting other places, so she told me about things I should be looking for looking down the road and things like that. She was wonderful. I looked at the building and was greeted very nicely by a young lady. They had an outside screened area, there's a gazebo that you can go sit in, and outside furniture. It was a nice community.

Grand Villa Ormond Beach looked like they had some staffing issues. The girl there had to do everything for us because other people hadn't shown up for work, but she did a good job of showing us around. The place was less expensive and you get what you pay for. It had a very large studio room, but the hallways had a smell that I wasn't happy about. The dining room had a smell and there was stuff all over the floor. It just wasn't well kept up. It was definitely a no. There was an activity room, a little outside park area which was nice, and a small activity area.

We had a good tour of Grand Villa of Ormond Beach. The facility was neat and clean. It presented well. It was pretty much just parked on a parking lot and there was a pond at the end of a walkway there. The front entrance faces another building because it's long and narrow.

Grand Villa of Ormond Beach was a good choice. It was nice and clean. The staff, like the nursing assistants, was very accommodating and attentive to all the customers. I liked the way they interacted with the residents. The rooms looked very nice. They had a policy that once you get a room, they would keep you in that same place, even if your care changes. I thought that was pretty good.

Grand Villa was beautiful, but it wasn't what my dad needed. It was newer, so it was a little prettier and cleaner. It was in a nice location. It was a much larger facility than others we visited. We only talked to the intake coordinator, who was very helpful.

Grand Villa of Ormond Beach was very nice. The residents seemed to be very happy and interacted with each other in a very friendly way. One man actually was coming off the elevator reciting a poem, and he was very proud of himself. It was a clean facility, very nice, and the gal -- who runs it or whoever gives the tours -- was great.

Grand Villa was very pleasant, and the people were wonderful and gave me definite answers. Everything was clean, including the rooms, were clean. I did not see much activity. I thought a lot of people were gone for the day on a field trip or something and the rest were just hanging around the lobby. Someone was throwing a ball around. People seemed capable and there seemed to be enough staff to take care of the people.

My mom is in Grand Villa of Ormond Beach, and it’s nice. They have a beauty and barber shop, a physical therapy area, and a lot of activities for residents who can see. But if they can’t see, there aren't any activities. My mother can’t see. The dining area is nice and like a quiet dining room. If anybody wants assisted living, this would be a good one to go to.

Grand Villa of Ormond Beach is extremely well-organized, professional, caring, competent, and crowded. The dining room was very nice. They had assigned seating which seemed to irritate a lot of the people there, but they allowed me to freely move around and ask questions, which I did. The food looked very good, and the wait staff was like what you would find in a nice restaurant. It was crowded. The day that I was there, a military club of some sort was going out for a meal. They do that once a month. They are very respectful of veterans there, which was a very good thing. They also had a seminar going on upstairs and with quite a few people attending it, and it seemed like a lively crowd.

We were looking for a place for my mother-in-law, and we found two places. We decided on the Grand Villa. The staff is very caring. They are very helpful and very accommodating -- so much that I would give them a 10 plus. The room and the bathroom are very convenient. The room is well furnished, and the best thing I like about it is that the emergency call lines are wireless. Tthey can move them wherever the guest is sitting or sleeping to be closer to them. If they can't reach across the room or in the bathroom, they can place it wherever the guest wants it. The dining area is well suited and well furnished with beautiful furniture. It is restaurant style, and the staff is excellent because they are so patient with my 91 year old mother-in-law. I had lunch ther,e and the food was yummy. There are people there that will assist the guest in having the food cut, and they do it with a happy heart. It is very clean, and security is very good.

My step-mom moved in to Grand Villa. Everybody that works there is very caring and very friendly. I am kind of overwhelmed by how nice they are. I have met a few residents and the people that are sitting with my mom during meals are very nice. I think it is nice that they have people come in a couple times a week and either play the piano or do other things. They have trips to different places, and I think that is a good thing for her. The food serves its purpose, and I believe because I have dinner there, it seems that they have their main meal is at lunch, so basically, it is a very light dinner. I think the facilities and the grounds are very well kept. They have adequate parking for visitors, and it will be nice if they have a little pond or something, but that really is not important. I just think the whole place is comfortable.

I have a grandmother who lived at Grand Villa for one year. At the time of her arrival, they were in the midst of doing renovations on the courtyard areas of the facility. Needless to say, this was quite the distraction for my grandmother and most of the other residents. Loud noises, strangers (construction workers) and chaos do not mix well with the elderly. Furthermore, the inside of Grand Villa is not very welcoming, or safe, in my opinion. They have a spiraling staircase located just before the commons area, where residents watch television together. Spiraling staircases aren't very safe, but what's worse is that this particular staircase was very old, and creaked when anyone used it. The staff on hand seemed fairly friendly, but were very strict. My grandmother left within one year because of these problems. I do not recommend anyone choosing Grand Villa of Ormond Beach for their loved ones.
