We toured Brookdale Ormond Beach. It was a very nice place. I liked everything about it, from the offerings to the people living there. They have nice activities, and the staff I met were all very friendly. They only showed us the one-bedroom units, which were a little on the small side. That's why my brother-in-law was a bit hesitant, as he says he's going to be there with his wife, and it wasn't big enough for the two of them but for one person, they were very adequate and quite nice. They had an outdoor area with some tables and chairs.

My father has moved into Brookdale Ormond Beach. It's a small community. Everybody is very friendly. They have a small dining room and everybody kind of stays in their spot. I'm very pleased with the room that he's got. It's perfectly satisfying as far as how large it is, the bathroom, and the little kitchen. He's got his own AC heater, which is perfect for him and his temperature since he's 96 years old. I'm pleased with what I've chosen. Ruben is the main man there. He's very engaging and he listens to my suggestions because we've been in one before. My father doesn't go and do any of the activities because he just doesn't feel comfortable, but they have some to offer by all means. They have an activity room and a place where everybody goes and has their birthday. Christmas was good. Thanksgiving was good. They didn't serve a Thanksgiving meal. It's a pretty place. It doesn't have a lot of places around it. It's all off the hedge greenery stuff. It's very secluded, even though it's right off of kind of the main road. I'm happy with the staff. I'm happy with what I pay. They come in every day, make his bed up, grab his trash, and make sure he's fine.

I like Brookdale Ormond Beach. It seems like a very beautiful place. It looks like the people are engaged. The menu looked good. I didn't see the food, but I liked the choices that they had. I thought it was good. My mom has been in another place in the last couple of months, and I thought Brookdale Ormond Beach looked even better than that place. I talked to the person who was in sales and marketing. She introduced me to the head of nursing, and she was nice, too. I saw people sitting there waiting to go to their lunch and the nurse was meeting them to take to some of their things and somebody coming down pushing somebody for lunch and stuff like that. They went to lunch in the dining room full of people and it looked like they were lingering after their lunch to talk to each other. They had a lot of nice places like sitting areas and things going on where they had activity. It looks like a nice place. I hope my mom goes there, I do. They had different areas throughout the facility. It's not like the place my mom was in before. They had all kinds of different rooms. They had happy hour and a pool table. There were a lot of men there and stuff. It was nice. They had a nice gazebo out back. The lady, who is the chef, is passionate about gardening, and she has started a gardening club with some of the residents and they are planting all kinds of flowers out at the gazebo.

What I like the best about Brookdale Ormond Beach is the size. It's much smaller. You have to be a little more friendly because there are fewer people to get to know. The only thing Brookdale did not have was overnight facilities for incoming guests from out-of-state or a storage unit, but those are minor. The staff were very caring and very friendly, and they knew all the residents by name. They have a beauty salon, a theater, a lounge, a beautiful dining area, and a library.

I visited this community and loved the feeling of the community. As I arrived there was a large group of people getting on the bus to go on a trip to Publix. I was greeted at the front desk and explained that I would need to be tested for Covid, I think is a great idea. The director, Kerry came out and welcomed me and gave me a nice overview of the facility offers. JoAnn the sales lady spent a little over an hour getting to know me and understand my situation. I loved the community, there are so many neat gathering areas, all the staff people I meet were very welcoming and friendly. I did get to see the return of the Publix trip, they all were chatting and seemed like they enjoyed the trip. I’m not quite ready to move but when I do it will be here. When I left JoAnn gave me a box of their dining manager’s brownies, there are just no words to tell you how fantastic they are.

Our visit to Brookdale Ormond Beach was good. I thought they were going to offer more for my dad, but I've already made up my mind that he's going to the other facility. The staff who toured us was very good and very friendly though. The facility felt more like an apartment complex. People were mingling about, which is fine. It's just I'm looking for some place that best fits my dad's needs.

Brookdale Ormond Beach has been very nice, and they're taking very good care of my mother-in-law. It's very clean, open, and it looked great. The staff and the residents that we met in the hallway were all smiling and happy. The ladies all had makeup on and were dressed nice. She has a studio, and it has a nice sized bathroom with a walk-in shower. The room itself is pretty small, and it has a small sink, a very small refrigerator, and a microwave. They had all kinds of activities, but they cut back on those because of the virus. There was a nice library with a lot of books, open areas, and places to sit. The staff was excellent, and the maintenance man was very helpful. She has to eat in her room now, and the food isn't quite as good because they had to cut back on their staff. She loved the dining room. They had a nice menu and she got three entrees to pick from at each meal, as well as other regular options. They were all served to them. She was very happy within the first couple of weeks. It's like walking into a nice restaurant. They had a nice outside courtyard and a screened-in porch with rocking chairs. It's reasonably priced considering she gets her food, her phone, and her laundry done twice a week.

I'm really impressed with Brookdale Ormond Beach. I saw a one-bedroom apartment and I also saw a studio, which is probably what I'm going to go with. They're nice and spacious, they have the cable and phone hooked up, and it has a kitchenette with a microwave. I like that they can assist you with moving, so that impressed me. I have to be somewhere close to the VA hospital, so if I was going to choose one place to stay it would be this community. I did not see any activities at the time, but I talked to the director and the nurse. We discussed my medications and health issues and things like that, which really amazed me because the other places did not do that. They just seemed very interested in getting me to come there, and I liked this facility the best. There's always room for improvement. I saw their menu and it looked good, plus there are lots of meal options.

My mom lived in Brookdale Ormond Beach for a year. It looked really bright and clean. The food choices were good. The staff was excellent. She slept a lot and didn't go to many of the activities because she thought they were a little lame. They had very nice rooms, good staff, and good food. They bring in somebody to sing every once in a while and all the residents liked that. They didn't have that many activities that appeal to all the residents, but there was a little exercise class and brain games class. They would go to Wal-Mart on their bus. The facility was beautiful and a bit newer, and mom was really impressed with it. I was also impressed that during the hurricane, they were quite prepared. They didn't lose electricity, but they brought generators in right away.

My mom is in Brookdale Ormond Beach. It is a clean and pleasant environment. They have a lot of activities for their residents. Overall, we’re very pleased with the facility. The rooms are very nice and accommodating for the needs of the residents. They can do what they want and engage when they want to or choose not to. They have medical staff for any special needs, and the grounds are very beautiful. All in all, it's a very good option for anyone who's looking for assisted living.

Brookdale Ormond Beach was beautiful inside. It’s probably 10-12 years but very well kept up. They have been wonderful in keeping in touch with me in a supportive way and were very responsive to my mother’s needs. The rooms were very basic but the facility, the social, and the common areas were beautiful. The grounds were very nice and pretty, although not large as it is in the city. It is a mile from my home.

The staff of Brookdale Ormond Beach is friendly. It is clean and a manageable size for the number of residents. It is all fresh, no canned or frozen, excellent food, and the residents have input in the menu. They have many activities and a shuttle service. It is in a convenient location, and the grounds are always well kept. It has only been a short time, but we are happy with it so far.

We didn’t like Brookdale Ormond Beach as much. As I remember, there were a lot of residents just kind of sitting around in the hallways, and there didn’t seem to be a lot of community activities, which was not what I would hope for. I think it was clean enough, but it was not organized very well. The staff was nice, but they didn't seem very friendly.

Brookdale Ormond Beach was a beautiful facility but they're too expensive for my mother. It was a beautiful facility, it was nice, it was great, and they have a lot to offer, but it was expensive.

I visited Brookdale Ormond Beach. It was nice, but the apartments were really small. Certain people, I'm sure, would enjoy Brookdale Ormond Beach, but it is definitely not for us. The staff was very friendly and nice and so on, but the apartments were so small. They had nothing there as far as I'm concerned. We would never be happy there.

I visited Brookdale Ormond Beach, and I was treated very professionally and warmly. Their housing is much newer and more lavish. It is a lot more upscale. I didn't see any activity because I went in at an off time. But I'm sure they have many because I get a newsletter every month that has the activities. The rooms and apartment are beautiful. It has a beautiful dining room with beautiful furniture. I'm sure it is really pretty with linen table cloth and napkins. It is almost like fine dining. The security seemed very good. I really liked that Brookdale would do respite care for short term. They don't pressure you into keeping them there. They are available to help you in any way they can. They are all very friendly and caring staff.

The individual who assisted us at Southland Suites was very accommodating. She always called back and offered alternatives and suggestions as well. It was a bit large as far as the number of the residents, and the financial part of it was higher than what we were trying to manage. They seem to have a very nice dining facility, and it is quite large, and they have good selection. It's an older facility, but it's pretty clean and up to date. They have a nice and cheery atmosphere.

Southland Suites was way too expensive. I don't know how they expect people to afford $4100 a month. The facility wasn't that great either. The rooms were small. We didn't meet many of the staff. I just met the first person who took us around and that was it.

My mother was here for a year or so and it was not a good experience. At first, it was alright, but a change in management made it awful. They were medically negligent, and her things were always being taken. When she moved, money and other items were withheld, and someone else's old appliance was substituted for hers. Because her eyesight made her vulnerable, she was taken advantage of by staff and management, and I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. I wouldn't give them any stars at all but the building is nice.

Mothers possessions, including her jewelry were stolen and never returned. On one occasion, this happened while she was hospitalized. Staff unresponsive to family.
