I went on a tour of East Hill's assisted living facility in Southbury. It was nicer and better for my husband because they have an aide that sits outside the apartment 24 hours a day, plus they have a nurse on call 24 hours a day. It's also not much more expensive. The people who toured me were very nice and very friendly. The size of the rooms is very nice, and even the 1-bedroom apartment had a balcony, which I like. They are much larger than the ones I saw in a different facility I visited. They also have a full kitchen with a little refrigerator, so I wouldn't have to buy one. The dining area is nice. It's small, but it's because they have a dining area on every floor. It's not like the others, where you go to one big dining area. They have a swimming pool, a courtyard, and a walking area. They have four or five buildings that are attached. They have independent living, assisted living, memory care, and a nursing facility. I also want to see how close the parking space is to the main building. With the administration building, there wasn't much parking, and it was situated on a hill, making it difficult to get there. Once you got out of the car, it was far to walk.

During our visit, we thought that it was very pleasant. We enjoyed talking with the marketing person. The people living there seemed to be very friendly. The apartments had variety of sizes, small and large. The ones we saw were pleasant. Some of them looked out on lovely wooded areas and others looked out on the roofs of garages. There were several dining options on this facility, which was very nice. They had what they called a bistro and a formal dining room. There was even an area where you could eat outside. We were told that there was a van that took the people to various functions off campus. They also have a lot of activities available there for handicapped people. They have a beautiful swimming pool, spa, and beauty salon. They even had a library. However beautiful the place was, we just decided that we were not ready to move yet.

The facility was beautiful. Their rooms were spacious and clean. They had lots of activities. They had a bowling lane. They had a golf-putting green. They had trips. They had concerts.
