Assisted Living Communities in Danbury, CT

"We like them for my mother because the memory care facility was on one floor. We like the way it was configured. She will be moving there. The staff has been so accommodating and welcoming to my mom. She is not living there yet. From what we've seen, we really like it. They had a community event outside on one of the days that we were there. The food was good. The memory care people are able to access the entire building with assistance. They have a very nice restaurant. They could have their own P.O. box there. They have a movie theater, and they have people come in to do music. There are a lot of activities."

"Maplewood is off the road so you're surrounded by woods even though they're building a whole over-55 development next to it. It's still separated and they have a beautiful courtyard and a nice deck. It's very nice, very clean, great staff, really nice rooms, very good food. The chefs that they have do a great job. It's in a beautiful area, nice, private and quiet. I've looked at a lot of them and this was, by far, the nicest, cleanest, most modern. They redid the painting, carpets and furniture three years ago. In the Alzheimer's part, everything is locked, coded or with keys. It also has an outside courtyard that is surrounded by their living area so it's very secure. They have crosswords, bingo, they have people come in playing music. They have family barbeque picnics. They do different activities down in the Alzheimer's where I'm staying with my mother. Upstairs they have other things going on but they have nice activities. They keep them busy. "

"The caregivers are warm, caring and patient. They honestly seem to enjoy their work and like the residents. "

"Church Hill Village was pretty new. I have a couple of friends in there. That is more of a one-level area and it's spread out. The first time I went there was just before Christmas, and they brought us a couple of bags of food and they were so delicious. The facility was not as impressive as the other one. It's like cottages put together, but it's nice. The rooms were not big, but what hit me was every room had very little clothes. They all had a suitcase. To my mind, these people were ready to check out. That's the impression I got. It was very neat. It's a comfortable place, but not as impressive as the others."

"I've been to Meadow Ridge at Redding for a visit. It's all beautiful and wonderful, but I can't afford it. It's very expensive. The apartments are gorgeous. They are very large. They have a full kitchen. They serve you two meals a day. It's a luxurious place. Most of all, they have some wonderful activities. "

"I visited and the staff was really great. They had a nice restaurant and everybody seemed happy. I just think that the studio was too small, but it would still have been sufficient. I liked it a lot."

"Spring Meadows Trumbull was lovely, clean, and very nice. The staff was knowledgeable. I was there on a Saturday, but they had the activities posted on their board like arts and crafts, lectures, and people coming in."

"My mother has been in Brookdale Place of Wilton for about two months now. It is a fabulous place. The people are caring, loving, and very attentive, and they listen to the residents and follow them. They go up to their room to give their medications instead of making them wait in line. Right from the director down, everyone is caring and really nice. I recommend this place to anyone. "

"Upon visiting and touring Just Like Home's Dogwood Home, I was very impressed by the level of attention and care that the caregivers were able to give to the residents. The home had a very intimate nature while being luxurious at the same time. Additionally, it was well situated and planned out to be able to uniquely cater to the residents needing memory care."

"I went to Maplewood at Southport. I think that was the most beautiful facility that I went to, it's the most modern, a lot of the activities they had been up to date like they provide them, Alexa, for all the different people in the community. They had virtual travel with VR technology. It had a nice courtyard area, and all the rooms were very nice also. The staff was great, and they gave me something to take to go."

"Maplewood at Strawberry Hill is the best of all. It's small, nice, and feels comfortable. It doesn't feel like being in a facility, because it's almost like an extended home. It's more cozy, and it's personalized care."

"The name of the establishment says it all. Just Like Home! I am so happy with the wonderful staff the accommodations for my mother.The ratio of residents to aids is small and you get to know all the residents and their family members . I feel that the staff that takes care of the residents do a wonderful job. My loved one is well taken care of and is not just a number. The Atmosphere inside and outside the home is peaceful and they bring in entertainment and music to stimulate the residents. I Love that I can have a few laughs with everyone and enjoy their company.It is so nice that you really feel part of this great organization. I know how hard it was to take care of my mom , and I feel so blessed that my concerns for my Mom have been addressed and they are willing and open to discuss your needs. I originally had my loved one in a much larger Memory care facility and I am so Grateful that this wonderful facility exists. Also the food is healthy and delicious and my mothers hygiene has never been better. I know how hard everyone works to make this a Loving and Caring home . Absolutely Amazing. What a beautiful gift for your Loved one. I am able to visit and see the Joy my mom expresses with Gods Angels that watch out for all the residents and each other! Anyhow see for yourself! You won’t be disappointed “"

"Maplewood at Darien is small and you feel comfortable. There were residents in their wheelchair, walking around, in their walkers, sitting in the lounge, and everybody seemed happy. The staff was happier than those in the big facilities. They smile at you and ask you if you need something. They have a movie room, library, and places where people do projects like arts to keep them occupied with guidance. We saw the menu and we got to talk to the chef who uses organic food."

"Old Glory Days was wonderful. It was beautiful. It was very clean. I liked it because it was open. I didn't like it because there were a lot of stairs. They were very expensive, too. The staff was very down-to-earth and neat. It's a converted old house. I wouldn't recommend it unless you lived in town, and if you had a lot of money and you were by yourself. I don't think it was good for a couple. It was very well put together. It was nicely painted inside."
