"I am so grateful for Maplewood! We moved my mom (age 84) into Maplewood in September of 2023 and she is truly thriving. Her apartment is welcoming with lots of natural light, she is busy all day with activities that are varied and that offer supportive fun. The staff know her well and constantly reach out to make sure she is involved. My mom loves to attend the book club, bingo, arts and crafts and music. Maplewood constantly has people coming in to sing or play music and keeps everyone engaged and active. Meal time is also a supportive time and my mom gets to choose her favorite foods every day. I am grateful that she is cared for and has a place to call home! "

"Church Hill Village was pretty new. I have a couple of friends in there. That is more of a one-level area and it's spread out. The first time I went there was just before Christmas, and they brought us a couple of bags of food and they were so delicious. The facility was not as impressive as the other one. It's like cottages put together, but it's nice. The rooms were not big, but what hit me was every room had very little clothes. They all had a suitcase. To my mind, these people were ready to check out. That's the impression I got. It was very neat. It's a comfortable place, but not as impressive as the others."

"My mom's been at Ridgefield Harbor for 4 months and she couldn't be happier: the staff are incredibly caring and attentive - they engage her in activities throughout the day every day, and give her a regular dose of warm hugs that make her feel valued and loved. The events for family are wonderful too - they give us a chance to get to know the staff and mom's friends, as well as meet other families whose parents are in a similar stage. It's a truly remarkable place; cannot recommend it more highly!"

"I'm living in Spring Meadows Trumbull and I love it here. I'm doing workouts and I'm into arts and crafts. I also play games, and I'm doing workouts with Keith, who is one of the physical therapy guys. They offer three meals a day and the food is very good. The staff is very nice and helpful."

"I visited The Dogwood Home with my daughter to find out if it would be a good fit for my husband who has a brain injury The house is impressive, light and airy, the rooms are also light and airy and personalized to each residents requirements. They have communal meals in a lovely dining area, they have living room and den options plus a delightful deck to enjoy the good weather. A very caring and pleasant place to be. "

"Old Glory Days was wonderful. It was beautiful. It was very clean. I liked it because it was open. I didn't like it because there were a lot of stairs. They were very expensive, too. The staff was very down-to-earth and neat. It's a converted old house. I wouldn't recommend it unless you lived in town, and if you had a lot of money and you were by yourself. I don't think it was good for a couple. It was very well put together. It was nicely painted inside."

"Brookdale Wilton was very nice. It was smaller than a couple of the other places I looked at, and I thought that gave it a more intimate atmosphere. They had an excellent upkeep. The staff was very nice and friendly. They had a library and areas for groups and movies."

I'm proactive in planning for the future (75 years old) and I'm not ready yet for a senior center (too little private space, fixed meal plan),.. I'm dealing with the 12 stairs at home. "Maplewood at Strawberry Hill was very clean. There were a lot of windows and a lot of natural light. The staff that I met was very professional and very pleasant, and the tour guide, Cary Jackson, was very good. There was a garden courtyard and a hair salon. The dining area was very nice, well-lit, clean, and pleasant."

"Review of Maplewoods, Orange, CT. The decision to move to a senior residency can be difficult. There are many things to consider when making that decision, but the most important consideration is staffing. Kind, knowledgeable and responsive staff are key to a successful experience. Maplewoods staff: housekeepers, maintenance, nurses, receptionists, aides, cooks, dining staff, care coordinators, and directors are skilled in making Maplewood residents feel comfortable and at home. There are many reasons for choosing Maplewoods of Orange for my mother, but the one that stands above the rest is the way she is treated. When I hear staff addressing my mom just as her grandchildren do, “Hi Mama”, I know Maplewoods is the place for her. "

"I went to look at the Pine Ridge Family Type Home for Adults. The woman who runs it is very nice. It's very small and very much like a family home. The rooms are very basic. The woman who runs it lives there. There is some outdoor space for sitting outside. The meals are included."
