Loveland, known as the “Sweetheart City” of America, is located in northern Colorado. Its clear blue skies, scenic views and proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park make this community especially appealing to retirees who lead active lifestyles and enjoy outdoor recreation. The community also has a large arts scene for seniors to enjoy, including over 300 pieces in Benson Sculpture Garden, an art museum and numerous galleries. There are currently over 15,000 seniors living in Loveland who have access to a variety of community-run resources, including adapted recreation activities, a library outreach program and the Chilson Senior Center. In addition to its activities and programs, the senior center also offers massage and spa treatments, foot care appointments and hosts a VOA lunch program.
To help seniors discover the most senior-friendly locations around the country, Caring.com conducted a new study, “The Best and Worst Places for Senior Living.” The Caring Senior Living Report analyzes and ranks 300 cities and 50 states on the quality of senior living in that area. The cities were graded using 46 metrics across five categories: Health Care, Senior Living & Housing, Affordability, Quality of life, and Transportation.
