"My sister is at The Lodge at Balfour Senior Living. I spent a week over there. It's extremely nice. It has a large fireplace. It's really top quality. Her room is more than what she needs because she can't cook. It has granite countertops in the kitchen, marble tops in the bathroom, a bedroom with a walk-in closet, a balcony out front, laminate flooring in the kitchen, tile in the bathroom, and carpeting in the living room and bedroom. Her room is beautiful, but it's very bland. The dining room has beautiful drapes and they have a chef also. There are at least three resident buildings, and they are all nice. She's been there close to a month now. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the facility. It's beautiful and well taken care of, and the people are all really nice. The food is excellent. They have real fresh fruit with the breakfast buffet with real bacon and ham. They have real food there and it isn't like macaronic and cheese or spaghetti. They have a full meal for lunch and dinner. They have a pool and a beauty shop, and all the amenities that you would expect in a nice retirement place. They have topnotch activities and they have a monthly calendar that each resident receives. They have outings, two shopping days, and two days for doctors' appointments. There's a large auditorium for movies in one of the buildings. There's a lot going on and a lot of music stuff."

"We just LOVE The Wexford in Loveland, CO! The staff is more than helpful and truly do care about all of the residents. They have the highest of standards and provide 1,2 and and 3 bedroom apartments and offer meals three times daily in an upscale dining area with a private dining hall for residents to entertain their families. There are also numerous daily activities including outings and scheduled trips up to the mountains and about town. The Wexford provides transportation to these events. My grandparents even have a private parking spot and when there are busy activities downtown the staff closes off the parking lot and gives residents passes for their cars and there guests. They also have a library and a computer for residents to use as well as an activity room, a salon and their very own mini mercantile. There is staff on call 24/7 and each room in the apartments is equipped with a 911 pull cord in case of emergencies. We couldnt be more thrilled to have our family here at this fantastic facility! "

"I visited the independent living community of Mirasol Senior Living Community. It's very friendly and well taken care of. The tour guide was also very congenial. They do not serve meals, and that was my drawback. The rooms were adequate, and the upkeep was good. The activities were limited, though."

"The staff was always super nice and seemed to be caring. The facilities in the nursing home reminded me of a hospital, I didn't like visiting. I don't really have another nursing home to compare it to though, so I don't know what it's supposed to be like. The assisted living area was nice though, looked like normal apartments. They would always call us when something was wrong. It was an awful call to get, but I guess what I'm saying is they were on top of everything. The doctors seemed to be knowledgeable and fill my parents in on their opinions of what medicines or surgeries to under take. I'm getting really sad thinking about this, though. Nursing homes in general are horrible. I don't mean that they mistreat people, just the idea of going to a place to die. I really don't know what else to say. It was a clean place, the staff was friendly, looked a little too much like a hospital for my taste. They had a bird cage in the common area where residents could watch TV and play piano, or look at the birds. That's always stuck with me for some reason. Oh, and once a week they would bring in dogs and cats for the residents to pet. That was nice. "

"The experience was very positive, there were a lot of amenities for the residents, and a lot of staff on hand to field issues. The facility itself was in very good condition, it was clean, presentable, and had a very welcoming, calming interior as well. My Great Aunt seemed to be very comfortable there, and was able to watch her daytime television shows, and also socialize with her friends in a communal area in the facility during the day. She was cold at one point, and asked for a blanket, and was immediately given one. "

"I was very impressed with MacKenzie Place Fort Collins. It was kind of upscale. The person that I was speaking with was very kind and knowledgeable and didn't pressure us. It would have been a very lovely place for my parents, but there wasn't any assisted living available. It was high-end as far as their elegant surroundings were concerned, and the atmosphere was wonderful. Everybody was kind. It was a very welcoming community. The rooms were bigger and newer. "

"My friend and I decided to take a look at the Windsor Good Samaritan Resort and my husband decided to go along. We had a wonderful tour, including looking at several configurations available. Since I like to cook and my husband likes to eat, we found an apartment that had a large kitchen, two bathrooms, plus living area and office area. Much to my surprise, he said he felt like we were at a Marriott and had a suite! And we signed for that apartment. We have been here almost three years, and are happy with the apartment. The best part of our life here are the wonderful staff! They are very caring, helpful and friendly..more like an extended family. The apartment is nice but the best reason for choosing this facility isthe staff!!"

"I'm currently living in Rigden Farm Senior Living. The appearance is A1. I'm in a pretty large suite and It has all the elderly's aid facilities, bars, walk-In bathroom, and your own heat system. It's a very nice building, it's almost soundproof. The staff is OK, the biggest problem is the food situation and that varies quite drastically from month to month. It's sometimes good, sometimes bad, then you just wait, and then things come along your way. I think they have a lot of activities for women and they have a movie night for men, but mostly all old movies. But it happens during my suppertime and so I can't go. They're very well equipped, they have PT, OT, and in-house assistance for bathing. You pay for those of course, but it's available in the building."

"The independent living community of MorningStar at Old Town was like a five-star hotel. It was fantastic, but the location was my drawback. The person who gave us the tour was very friendly. I had lunch there, and the food was excellent. The menu was quite extensive. The food that I got was very tasty and well-seasoned, and just a delight. The community itself was very warm and welcoming. The facility was very well maintained, and the rooms were very comfortable. The facility was not very old, so it was very comfortable-looking and clean. The overall appearance was excellent."

"My Mom has been at Grace Pointe for a couple of months so far and I cannot say enough about the helpful and friendly staff and the care they provide. They are a huge credit to their profession and they do an excellent job! "

"We have already made a deposit at Fox Run and will be moving there in September. When we toured the place, we were very impressed. We will live in a 1,000-square-foot room with two bedrooms, a den, sun deck, full kitchen, washer and dryer, and a covered garage. What I like probably the best is that meals are not included with your fee, but there are meals served and you choose what you want to eat and how it is going to cost you. You are only billed for what you eat. They have lots of activities and a bus. The person who spent five hours with us was very accommodating and explained everything, making sure we understood everything. "

"I couldn't be happier knowing my loved one is in Hover Manor, Independent Living. I have experienced the changes that have occurred over the past 10 years. The staff have been WONDERFUL! Yes, there have been times they are short staffed, as with any place, but they have done an amazing job of compensating and are truly caring individuals. The rooms are very nice -spacious, clean and modern, and there is a cord that can be pulled in the bedroom or bathroom that gives an added sense of security. The rooms may not be "luxurious", but the VALUE more than compensates . There are Many activities - book club, Wii Golf, Bridge, Dominoes, Pinochle, crafts, Discovery group, Bingo, Exercise...that is just a drop in the bucket. They have monthly meetings to keep communication open with the residents and provide a very reasonably priced van and bus to take residents to the grocery, doctor appointments, etc. There has been a challenge in the kitchen with recent turnovers... but the staff jumped in and did a great job for being so short staffed. They are back up to full staff now. They have a daily "special", but residents also have a menu with lots of alternatives to choose from. I feel there is an effort to provide healthy meals with variety. I know they have added additional washers/dryers on the main floor, and are available 7 days a week. The staff continue to work at making improvements while trying to keep the cost reasonable. I would give Hover Manor 6 stars if I could...."

"We have the most caring and wonderful Manager. Grace works so hard to keep all residents happy. These are low income 480 sq foot apartments. The living space is fine although the kitchens are very small. The outside areas are kept clean and well maintained. The interiors are also kept clean and well organized. My only complaint is I wish we had washers and dryers inside each apartment. Each building has 2 washers and dryers on the second floors. "
