There are many services and programs that are low-cost or free, that enable seniors to enjoy an independent lifestyle in the comfort of their own home, such as help with home modifications, meal delivery services, and more. A Little Help

This nonprofit connects neighbors with seniors to provide assistance with basic chores, transportation, help with technology and household handyman support. These include snow removal, respite care, transportation and social activities, and it also provides a hub for local resources. A Little Help also seeks to keep seniors engaged with their community by offering educational programs and regular events across the Loveland area and beyond. 

Fort Collins Meals on Wheels Program

The Volunteers of America Meals on Wheels Program in Fort Collins delivers meals to those who have difficulty preparing meals and are primarily homebound. Meals are delivered Monday to Friday between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm, typically consisting of a full lunch, with two vegetables and a roll, salad and dessert to ensure seniors and other people who qualify receive at least a third of their recommended daily diet. More active seniors can volunteer with this organization.

Volunteers of America Handyman Program

The Volunteers of America Handyman Program offers seniors free assistance with basic home repair projects. This can include simple safety repairs around the house or chores such as shoveling snow. While assistance is free, clients must pay for the materials required. Additional services such as veteran support and senior dining are also offered by the VOA. 

The Larimer County Office on Aging

The Larimer County Office on Aging offers several useful services to seniors in the area. The chore voucher program gives seniors financial support to complete tasks they may not be physically able to do like laundry or cleaning. Additional services offered include a family caregiver support program, an in-home services voucher program and assistance with filling out all applications for help. Seniors seeking vouchers or additional support should contact the Larimer County Office on Aging.
