ActivCare at Yorba Linda

We were impressed with the newness of ActivCare at Yorba Linda. My mother was the very first resident at this new facility. She got a lot of attention because there were three caregivers for one person, and then they started slowly adding more residents. She had a roommate. I noticed that the residents they were taking on were of much lower cognitive ability than my mother and the activities that were being conducted always seemed to be tailored to the lowest cognitive-impaired person. Therefore, my mother was doing things that were not challenging her and I brought this to the attention of the management. I also didn't agree with the management's style of activities. They were having the caregivers do the activities and that is something I don't personally believe in. Caregivers should do caregiving and not be an activities director, but I had no complaints whatsoever with the caregiving; it was excellent. The food wasn't that great. It's brand new and extremely clean. It was packed with other residents, so I couldn't find a place where I could be alone with my mother. It was also one of the most expensive places we looked at.
