We had already been through two other agencies that kept sending young inexperienced and not caring individuals. I contacted her and she immediately set up a quick interview with my grandma in La Mirada. Each caregiver they brought in would already be met with Jackie first and she would share with them what my grandmother needed and would do random check ins. The caregivers were wonderful and kind to my 99yr old grandma. They would cook for her, cut up her food and sit with her and encouraged her to eat. They didn’t mind or get upset if she had an accident. I would highly recommend them. They are competing with pricing but their quality of staff and managers were the best we had dealt with."

"We have been using Home Instead. My dad has dementia and they help him with his everyday living, like bathing, food, laundry, and cleaning. They're pretty well educated on this. They are like specialists for dementia patients, so they know how to take care of them, respond to them, and get them to do things. They're doing the best they can, and dementia patients sometimes can be very difficult. They work with whatever I need, which is really good. Whatever hours I need, they're flexible on that. "I got Nu Care Long Beach for my wife, and as far as I know, it's really good. She seems to be happy when I come back after they've taken care of her. All but one caregiver is excellent. The one caregiver was OK, but not the best, and except for that one, they've been really prompt. They provide companionship, and we have pretty good communication with the agency. That's the best in price that I could find. I'm happy with them. I only use them for four hours to six hours a week."

I'm still looking for a good secondary for the weekend. I hired someone seven days a week, but my primary right now is doing OK. They charge 3% if you use a credit card, which is fine because they get charged the credit card fee. They will charge you the first of the week for the services already done for the prior week. They need to vet their people more, and explain to them that cell phone use is not allowed during working hours. There is cleaning involved. Some of the people that they've sent over have said, "I'm here to care for your mom and sister, but I'm not a housekeeper." They've sent over people that won't lift someone. They should do a better job screening and asking probing questions, but they have a few good people who work for them. They just need to find more."
