"Hillcrest was kind of spread out too much. It was way too big to get around for both me and my husband, but the staff was nice and extremely interested in having us there. They have a deal where whatever you pick, whether it's a one-bedroom cottage or a two-bedroom, they just gut the whole thing and fix the inside just like you want to have it. So that was a nice feature of the apartment. They tailor it to you on how you want the interior fixed."

"My aunt is under assisted living at Merrill Gardens at Huntington Beach because she is kind of dingy and needs help with her medication. Their price seems to be comparable with all the other ones I’ve looked at. I like the place. It is very new and very bright, and it is one of the only two that I saw that had washers in the room. It is like a hotel. If you want to sit in the lobby, you can go down and sit in the lobby and see people. "I visited The Tower on 19th's senior apartments. It is 18 stories, but every time I've gone in there, it's very clean and very quiet. I never heard a lot of noise, and I didn't see a lot of people. The senior community and the people that you meet there seem to be friendly. It's not an assisted living facility, and you have to be independent to be there. They have laundry in the building, and whatever floor you're on, they have a trash chute that goes down to the basement. They have a library and a place where they have a piano. The staff members are pretty good and very helpful. They tried to help me as much as they could. The apartments have kitchens in them, so they don't have food provided at the place."

They have different activities and the grounds are very nice. It looked very nice and welcoming."
