The Glen at Scripps Ranch was nice and new and had wonderful facilities. But it was way too expensive, they want it at about a $1,000,000 entry fee, and that's ridiculous. You only get 75% of it back, and you don't get any return on the money. They have both cottages and apartments. They have everything that others have, they have a beautiful indoor pool, it was beautiful. They had three restaurants, a movie theater, a beauty salon, and two dog parks, although they were tiny dog parks, they were two of them. It wasn't very open with the landscaping, it didn't have good places to walk the dog. So they're dog friendly, but to me, it wasn't a good setup for dogs. They have more than just independent living, they have everything.

We like The Glen at Scripps Ranch very much. It has all levels of care, so we're happy with that. It's beautifully appointed. The apartments are newer and lovely. Clean facility. There are many amenities that would be enjoyable. There is some flexibility with plans for moving in. They have an art room that appeals to me. They have a card room, a puzzle room, a library, a sports bar, and a room for quilting. There's a huge number of rooms and places where you can go and have meetings, special group functions, lectures, and that type of thing.
