When our mother could no longer live alone safely, we viewed several assisted living places in San Diego to find just the right combination of comfort, services, affordability and caring atmosphere. It was immediately obvious to my family that Sunview Gardens was the best choice. The atmosphere is like a large family home with beautiful updated private rooms and bathrooms for each resident. There are community areas and activities so my mother could socialize or have her privacy according to her wishes. The staff is fantastic! We got to know them well and appreciated all the care and attention they gave our mother. We always felt she was safe and in good hands. The manager, Felicity, is a great communicator and let us know how our mother was doing and what she needed through her various stages of heath challenges. My mother even complimented the food and she was a picky eater! Honestly, I can't imagine a better experience. This was a scary time for us and Felicity and her staff made us feel so much better about the quality of life our mother could enjoy at this stage of her life. Sadly, our mother passed at age 95, but her last years at Sunview Gardens were good ones, where she made friends and lived her life with joy and dignity. I can't thank everyone at Sunview Gardens enough.

The Views in Poway is very nice, very modern, and very spacious. There are lots of bright, open areas with good views and things for people to see across the landscape. It's also right across from Old Poway Park with some old-type stores. I couldn't evaluate the staff, I was just touring with the administrator, but it seemed like they were helping the clients very well.

Second to none. Seriously. Stop Googling. If you are looking for someplace like this, stop now. Call up Felicity, and talk to her. See what she has available. Go look at the facility. I had to do the "where do we go?" dance with my mother, 22 years ago, in the antelope valley. God, for a place like this, then. There wasn't, and I went thru 25 of them, all over the Mojave basin. So my wife, her sisters, and I were looking couple years back. We had a placement agent helping, and she said "I'm going to show you my best place first." We came, we saw, we chatted. In the car, before leaving, i said "I'm going back in there and give her $1,000 to hold the room she has available till the end of the day, so it doesn't disappear." The sisters said that is dumb. Off we went, and went to three other places. After that, they were in a big hurry to get back and leave a check. They did, and Ruth was there for the rest of her life, and loved it. They give a shit. They really do. You can't buy what is given there. Anywhere.
