"We looked at Redwood Terrace and thought it was a very nice and pleasant place. The food was good. The apartments have full kitchens and washers and dryers. Everybody was pleasant and helpful. They have everything. I really can’t say anything bad about this community at all, but Escondido was too big of a town for me. "

"The number one criteria on my mom's list was water aerobics and having a pool, so she liked that Westmont Town Court had an indoor pool with water aerobics and a jacuzzi. The person that helped me with the tour was wonderful. She was really nice. We had lunch there and it was awesome. Everything was delicious. I got a chicken wrap and my mom got the same thing. The facility was clean. It looks safe and friendly. They had anything and everything you can imagine. We liked it."

"We lived in Belmont Village for four years. The staff was very good and helpful, but they didn't have two-bedroom, two-bath. It wasn't big enough, and we had to share a bathroom. Otherwise, it was very good. They had three sit-down meals, which was moderately good. The dining room was functional, not fancy. They had lots of activities like movies, trips to tourist places, cruises, and museums. "

"I liked Las Villas overall. Their assisted living was very nice, but their memory care -- which is what we were looking for -- had showers that were separate from the rooms, so the residents had to walk down the hallway to the shower. I didn’t want to place our aunt where she has to walk down the hallway to take a shower; I would want her to take a shower in her own room and not have to go down the hallway. The staff was very friendly; they were nice. They had skilled nursing, and this was one of the things I liked about the place. The rooms were pretty small; they were some of the smallest rooms I'd seen. They were playing a memory game to remember actors, actresses, and famous directors of old movies like Alfred Hitchcock -- things like that. "

"We've chosen Lantern Crest Senior Living for my parents. They will move in by January next year. They loved it. It's brand new. It's resort-style living. That's what they loved about it. The meal was excellent, they loved it. They have three restaurants. There are three restaurants and the one we had was like a restaurant. They had servers and just restaurant-quality food. That's only one of the three, and she loved it. I ate it, so it was very good. Great room layout. Full kitchen, washer, and dryer inside the unit, which they love, which is very important, central air and heat. It looks like an apartment home. It does not look like retirement. It's perfect. They have an indoor pool, outdoor pool, fitness center, a smaller size bowling alley, and two dog parks, which are important for mom and dad. A huge outdoor courtyard kind of area, and the view is excellent."

"The staff at Villa Monticello Assisted Living is wonderful. It’s a very small community with only 29 residents. The food is good and they are very helpful. The assisted living and memory care unit are all together in one area. They have some little exercises, they were singing yesterday, crossword puzzles and so on. My husband has a lot of freedom there because the residents can be outside. I’m very pleased with the place."

"I visited Right Choice Senior Living, and then I also spoke to the owner on the phone. The owner, for some reason, didn't know that I was going to be there, so he wasn't there. One of the caregivers assisted me. The tour was good. I liked it. Edgar was the caregiver, and he seemed to be very attentive to each resident. Each resident wasn't tied to a strict schedule. The residents could go outdoors if they wanted, but no gym or library that I was shown."

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."

"I am living in Grossmont Gardens, and I've been here for about a year and a half now. It's a nice community, and I like it here. I have a studio with a kitchen and a bathroom. The staff is great. It's difficult right now because we can't go to the dining room, but the staff delivers three meals a day if you want it. The food is OK. It's just really a nice place. When we're not in COVID, the grounds are wonderful to walk and there's plenty of sidewalks to walk on. The people are very nice, and it's easy to make friends if that's what you want. I'm very happy here. I actually have somebody to help me with my shower, which I don't really need, but I don't wanna fall. I have laundry and I have housekeeping, and that's still considered independent. I also do my own meds. I take care of myself other than those things."
