"Everything was fine at Belmont Village Sabre Springs. The esthetics were really good as far as being a pleasant environment for anyone to live in. They had plenty of activities and nice rooms. The staff ratio seemed to be good. There were a lot of different areas where you wouldn't feel like you were in a shoe box all the time. The people who gave the tour were very pleasant."

"We toured Gardens at Escondido. It's a wonderful place. I would highly recommend it. I like it a lot. It's like a well kept cul-de-sac place. The hallway was like a hotel, the hallways, the library, and all these different places that people could go in, and the people there were just very friendly. They enjoy being there. The staff was very wonderful and all the staff that we talked to went out of their way to be friendly, asked if we needed anything if we had any questions, and showed us several different areas like a one-bedroom or even a two-bedroom unit, that kind of thing. It was just impressive. The memory care, they took us through there. It's really nice to have an outdoor place that's safe for them to go out even though it's on the third floor. They have trees and stuff like that where people could go out and enjoy being outdoors but being safe outdoors, which I liked. The freshly baked cookies were good. We enjoyed those."

"I like the Las Villas Del Norte. That would be my number one choice, but it's too far for my mother-in-law. She doesn't want to live in Escondido. It's very clean. It has a pool. I was impressed. I didn't want to go anywhere else. If you don't want the daily menu, you can go for a la carte. Phil was very nice and accommodating. They say the resident's name. They know the people who live there."

"Words cannot express how grateful we are for everyone at Rancho Penasquitos Senior Living! I mean EVERYONE!! From the executive director, memory care director, finance manager, the wonderful lady at the reception desk, ALL of the caregivers and med techs, TRULY care about my mum. We were so nervous about sending mum to memory care, but she needed 24/7 care that we could not provide because my husband and I both work full time. My worries were eased within the first few days because mum feels right at home here. The memory care director and staff pivoted so quickly to adapt to mums unique needs and picky eating. Saying thank you isn’t enough to express how all of the staff are simply amazing at what they do and they do it with love and care, which is evident! The staff have become like a second family and we communicate often which is a huge plus. We are so blessed to have mum live here and we are beyond grateful to all of you for taking such great care of my mum."

"I visited the independent living community of Lantern Crest Senior Living, and it's nice. The people were also very nice. They have different layouts. One building is newer than the other, which is the only difference, but they are all nice. The upkeep of the place was very good. The dining area was very nice, and they had a good selection of food. The parking area was fine."

"The staff at Villa Monticello Assisted Living is wonderful. It’s a very small community with only 29 residents. The food is good and they are very helpful. The assisted living and memory care unit are all together in one area. They have some little exercises, they were singing yesterday, crossword puzzles and so on. My husband has a lot of freedom there because the residents can be outside. I’m very pleased with the place."

"I visited Right Choice Senior Living, and then I also spoke to the owner on the phone. The owner, for some reason, didn't know that I was going to be there, so he wasn't there. One of the caregivers assisted me. The tour was good. I liked it. Edgar was the caregiver, and he seemed to be very attentive to each resident. Each resident wasn't tied to a strict schedule. The residents could go outdoors if they wanted, but no gym or library that I was shown."

"Westmont of Carmel Valley is a place that I would want to retire to. It is beautiful. It looks very open. It had a lot of beautiful outdoor space. I wanted to sit down and go knit with some of the women who were there. The different places to eat at looked lovely and open. It's a beautiful place where you could just retire and spend your days. It feels more kind of a resort. I liked their bar/bistro area where you could just sit for the day with a drink or a snack. It was big and bright. The downside was the price, because you have to pay for that beauty, and it's definitely on the high end, but if you had the money, that would be a wonderful place for you to go."

"Vista Gardens Memory Care was great. My husband stayed there just for three weeks. I'm very impressed with the facility in general, and the outdoor facilities for the residents were exceptional. The staff was excellent. They're very welcoming and caring. I was just very happy with them overall. I didn't have a lot of direct experience with the food, but I saw menus. The dining room was beautiful and very spacious. They offer a variety of things for the residents. They're not restricted to one choice every day. It's restaurant-style and the residents can order whatever they like. The facility was beautiful. It's 12 years old, and it's very neat, clean and homey. When you're there for respite care only, it's maybe a little bit more expensive than if you were there on a full-time basis, but for peace of mind and overall care, it's worth it to me. They have a huge outdoor space for the residents. They have an actual park on their premises and a raised garden bed."

"My father-in-law was at Acorn Oaks Manor II. They were amazing. The process of moving in was very simple. The nursing care was around the clock because they had three different shifts. We had a good relationship with the nurses. They kept us updated if we weren't there. I can't say anything bad at all about them. My father-in-law was on a pureed diet. They cook meals for the patients. The building was very clean. They had a day room where they would watch television, make cookies, and interact with their patients. They can go outside. Activity-wise, some patients were mobile, and some weren't mobile. It's a very homey feeling. You're free to visit anytime. No appointments. But you have to sign in and let them know that you're there. It's 24 hours, and you can come and go when you please."
