I visited this facility
Nazareth House is run by nuns. I like it because they have a big church inside with pews. The rooms are very small studios, and it starts at $3,100. They have different levels of care, including hospice and palliative care, so it's all-inclusive. The staff is very nice. They're refurbishing the place as well.

Nazareth House was very nice, but it didn't have the accommodations that we needed because my husband wanted a place where we could both be together in one apartment. They were mostly studio apartments, and it would not work for us. They had activities mostly connected with religious activities.

We were very happy that Nazareth house was a Catholic facility. It’s a very intimate situation where people know who you are. It doesn’t have the same resources as the others, though. The fees were lower, but they didn’t have transportation services. I think it’s a good, basic, well-run place.

I love Nazareth House. My mother in law is there and although she remarks on the food not being that good, she has gained weight since being there. And she has the opportunity to go out to eat, but preferres to eat there. I have had lunch numerous times and I find the food to be just fine.
The best part of her day is mass every morning. Then they usually have exercise or word games before lunch. They have current events on Thursday which she loves.
Everyone that I have met are wonderful people. Very kind and always smiling. I think this is a lovely place to live and she agrees and has been there 3-1\2 years.

Everything so far has been very good at the Nazareth House. They are happy, and we are happy. This one is really nice. Both my mom and dad live there. They shared a one-bedroom place. It has a patio, and it is easy to get around to things. Everything is good.

I am/was a resident of this facility
Surprisingly it was more than we thought it would be. When we walked into Nazareth house, we found it to be nice, bright, and cheery, and it has a beautiful view. It is very pleasant with wide halls, open spaces, and quiet. There was nice music playing in the hall. My wife shares a room with another lady. They really have nice activities. Even though she couldn't get around very well, she enjoyed watching these activities. They have mass every morning, and she likes it because it rests her mind. Before, she was in a convalescent home. The first thing she said then was to be taken home. It was very consistent. However, she has never asked to be taken home from this place. She seems to be comfortable. As far as caring is concerned, they care for her very well. The food is better than what we have seen in any other nursing home. She is always picky about eating but she eats here. I had no real problems with inattention or things like that. It's divided into assisted living which is two wings, and the third wing is called the Care Center. The sanitation is clean. The only problem with the facility is that they are not a skilled nursing facility. They do apply the medication and follow exactly what the doctor's say on the prescription and so forth, but they don't make medical decisions. In other words, we would like a little more medical help only found in a skilled nursing facility.

We choose Nazareth House for my mom mostly because we feel comfortable with the staff. They seem to be caring. We talked to a number of people who know them or have friends or relatives there, and we got nice feedback. Mom is in the care unit, which is the highest care that they provide. The rooms are modest but sufficient for what she needs. She's in the apartment for the more assisted living area, and they are quite nice. They all open up to a nice garden area. I think the food is generally good. However, her food is ground up because she's having trouble swallowing it. They have an activities director, and it seems like they have something going on pretty much two to three hours every morning and then again in the afternoon. They have chair exercises, sing-a-longs, and therapy. I think little bit of orientation for the family on what makes it easy for them and for us will be helpful because for me, it takes a long time to figure out how everything works.

Nazareth House is a facility that is run by a Catholic religious congregation. It sits on a hill which makes the community very pretty. The only big drawback for me is that they don't have transportation service available. Nevertheless, the place is very lovely and the grounds are gorgeous. I absolutely recommend this place to others.

My mother enjoyed living at Nazareth House. She liked being able to walk to the chapel and enjoyed the social activities, especially the writing group. She never complained about the food although she said that other residents did, and when I had Thanksgiving dinner with her there I did not think it was very good. The staff at Nazareth House was always friendly and helpful but there were a few problems. When my mother was put in the hospital I was not called (they did not have my current phone number which was my fault). What was disconcerting was that day when I went to visit my mom it took a long time for me to find out where she was. One staff member said check the chapel, another said maybe she had gone out for the day but I saw she had not signed out, then some residents told me she had been taken to the hospital. I finally found a nurse that let me know which hospital. It seemed like there could have been better communication among the staff. When my mom died I was told to take my time emptying her room because it was the beginning of the month and she had already paid for the full month. I spent some time on the day she died in her room, mostly in shock, sorting through her belongings. The next day when I went back the furniture had already been removed from her room and the items I was sorting had been dropped on the floor. It would have been nice if they had waited a while since I was told to take my time, I wasn't expecting things to be removed within a few hours.

My grandma just moved into the Nazareth two months ago. She loves it! She raves about the food, the landscaping, and the staff. I would highly recommend Nazareth house.
